I live off my morning ice milk tea from here. What I’ve tried of their food selection has always been solid, but with that said, I do wish they had a bit more variety. It’s conveniently located, right outside the N/R at 59th St station, and anything you may need from there can be in your hands in less than 5 minutes. The ladies behind the counter are fast and efficient, always welcoming and nicer than I would have expected. If you’re looking for a good and fast place to grab breakfast on the go, look no further. Full Doe will hit the spot.

Plain pineapple bun, filled with coconut… and one of those sweet breads that look like cupcakes on the counter… all delish. Lady was sweet.

Very good and typical Chinese style bakery. Not many kinds but very typical. Cream cake was not real cream, cake was kind of greasy. Reasonable price and no tips. May come next time.

A precious little piece of Southern China here. Full Doe is a great option for anyone who has an early morning hankering on the way to work – particularly those around the 59th St N/R. Hot, savory food is certainly a rarity at this hour, but you’ll find plenty of bun-type options here, as well as sticky rice. The protein rations are rather sad by American standards, though fairly in line with the real deal overseas. If you want a quarter pound of meat for breakfast, steer clear for Mickey Dee’s. This place is cheap, cheap, cheap. I’d challenge you to try finishing $ 10 of food. Bet you won’t even need to spend $ 5.

I feel very fortunate to have such a good Chinese bakery near where I take the train. Especially during the times where I have to get to the subway by 6AM and have no time to make breakfast. It’s open that early and my first meal of the day came straight out of the oven just baked, it’s just wonderful and the best part is that it cost me a dollar or two. They do keep some of the buns in a warming oven and that really makes the buns taste a lot better. They also have rice porridge, which is not bad and a variety of steam buns. They have a very limited selection of dessert items. It’s really a great breakfast stop before heading into the subway. I’ve been coming here since forever and pretty much had tried everything and there was not one thing I did not like. My favorite is definitely the Ham & Egg bun. I like how they make their Ice Milk Tea & Ice Lemon Tea. Crushed ice is used instead of those big chucks of ice. You won’t be left with a cup full of ice in the end.

Eh. Everytime I go here they don’t have what I want. Actually they never have it(bubble tea) when I go. SO I decided to try something different, the iced red bean drink. Basically its frozen red beans in a sugary watery thing and they provide bubble tea straws so you can suck up and chew the red beans. I love red beans cuz its like my heritage to enjoy them for dessert but this was kinda awkward even though I like different. I haven’t tried their baked goods but I’m not that interested. It was a-ok. Thanks Unilocal for putting the words in my mouth!

Typical bakery but a little beyond average in a good way. My sis usually comes here in the morning to get her milk tea. It’s good prices and good food. I think it closed down a couple of times due to sanitary reasons. Same as Good Taste House Bakery.

I love this place, especially when you go in the morning, they have nice, freshly baked buns. My favorite is the baked roast pork bun(they have two types, the other one is steamed) with a cup of hot tea and milk. If you go there later in the day, they might be out of certain buns. I like how they keep the buns warm in a warming place(crap, i forgot the name of the thing). I also like going here in the summer for a refreshing cup of iced tea with milk. Yum, I want a roast pork bun now…=D

Formerly GOODTASTEHOUSEBAKERY. Open at 6am! I can’t speak for the bubble tea; It might be excellent, but I haven’t tried it. On the other hand, I have tried the rice porridge, the stuffed steam buns, the baked buns stuffed with meat, the baked buns stuffed with beans, baked buns stuffed with tuna fish, the floppy fried rice thingies stuffed with beans, the hot dog buns, coconut custard buns, sweet jiggly rice-flour buns sprinkles with coconut and filled with a little knot of peanuts, and the«Chinese rice tamales.» All very good; good quality versions of the standards. They throw in a few twists, such as the Mexican bun which has no filling, and various pastries stuffed with hot dog, and some greasy garlic pastry. The croissants are terrific(and make excellent egg sandwiches, I have found. I’m blissfully committing suicide by eating their sweet-ish buns wiped with mayonnaise then dipped in shredded bacon bits! What, are you kidding me? Who wouldn’t love that? They also serve a sweet-ish bun sliced in half filled with cold egg and ham. They offer something — is it supposed to be a poor man’s bahn mi? It’s their standard sweet-ish bun stuffed with lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo and a cold dubious-looking log that looks like a poop and tastes like a fried McChicken sandwich from 1978. I would be exaggerating if I called it exquisite. So sue me. It’s exquisite. Everything has always tasted very fresh. The European-looking frosted cakes are strangely not sweet enough. But the winner is still the coffee. I’m a total junkie for their coffee. They still think I’m weird for ordering it black, but me, I always prefer the pure. On the other hand, their ice coffee grows weirdly rich and satisfying if you let them add cream and sugar. (Syrup, actually, not sugar. I’m not sure if it’s corn syrup or some kinda Asian cane syrup or simple sugar or what.) I miss the old Mei Ling awning, but this place is still just about my favorite coffee source in all New York.
