PLEASE do not get your hair cut from Irene. Though she is a nice person but her performance in cutting hair is extremely unprofessional and poor. She is too fast and not precise at all, she cut my hair very roughly like she was just trying to get it over and done with. I did a wash cut and blow dry, I am extremely disappointed. This is my first bad review for a salon, I don’t know about the others who work their, but if my experience with Irene can help anyone I hope you will consider it.

The quality and service provided by Ginger Rose has extremely gone down hill the past couple of years. It almost feels like the management has given up on the establishments. I can remember the earlier years of the 1990’s-2000’s where Ginger Rose use to employee top barbers and was always packed with customers. The entire neighborhood use to go there for their haircuts. Those days are far and over. My rating is based on the cleanliness, ability to fix broken barber chairs, and the mood of all the employees. I stopped going to Ginger Rose because my favorite barber had opened up his own shop. If you do not have a particular barber that you already use at Ginger Rose, I would suggest not coming here and finding one as you will be dissappointed.

Never want to deal with these people ever again. Unprofessional attitude, these Russians are so snooty! Also the utensils they use are NOT disinfected.

Two most important things. 1) Dirty 2) Lying about prices. I bought a living social deal to do keratin and they tried to make me pay $ 50 more because my hair is long. Now this is not my first time doing a keratin treatment. The prices always depend on the promotions they are running at the time. The living social deal clearly stated $ 100 value But you are getting $ 350 dollars worth of service. What a lie !!! DONOTGOTOTHATSALON!!!

This salon, if that’s what you want to call it, is the worst I have honestly ever been to in my 20 years of having my hair done. So completely unprofessional. My hair looked so horrible that I’m currently planning on taking them to court to get a refund. They actually had the audacity to charge me for the atrocious color job they did on my hair. I wouldn’t go back there with someone else’s head of hair(unless I really hated them).

Ok I’m not a fan of the old man shampoo guy that has the attitude of a French fashion designer working at Mandees. But the hairstylists are, for the most part, above average. I would recommend Lily because she has an awesome personality, and works WITH you to achieve the perfect cut that is to your liking. Gave me the best short cut I’ve had yet!

They consistently give great haircuts for guys. Solid price and it’s clean and comfortable. They also are open during very convenient hours. I’ve been going here for over 5 years and even though the staff varies somewhat I can always expect to look good when I leave.

If I could give 0 I would. Was told they can put in my clip in extensions and curl my hair but in reality I had to walk her through the whole thing. She curled my hair with a straighter not a curling iron and when I started to show some concern she told me she worked fashion week so she knows what shes doing. Came out horrible, started falling right away and my scalp was killing me so I had to take them out right in the salon so I asked for a regular blow dry and she said I’ll still have to pay her for the extensions. After speaking to the manager I ended up just paying for a blow dry but came home to a burning scalp so I had to rewash my hair and do my own hair. She was also very nasty to my friend who wanted a service done. Waste of time money and burnt off half my hair. stay away!

This is my first experience with this salon. I went there because of a Living Social offer I purchased for a $ 99 Keratin Treatment. When I got there, I was told that I was going to have to pay them $ 35 more dollars because of the length of my hair. They said that $ 99 Keratin treatment is only for short hair and mine was«medium length»(it’s shoulder length). When I pointed out the sign in their window that said«Keratin Treatment from $ 90», I was told that the price was for Keratin«just on your bangs.» When I called about the treatment on the phone I was told I could wash my hair/sweat 24 hours after treatment. When I got there I was told I could not wash my hair for 72 hours. I had already signed up and paid for a dance class the next day and made carpool arrangements that I had to change. After my hair was washed they told me I could not dye my hair for at least a week after getting the treatment so any grey in my hair I would have to wait to color. I am flying to see family I haven’t seen in 8 years and wanted to dye the grey out of my hair a few days after the treatment and already purchased the dye. However, now I needed to have them dye my hair before the treatment which they did for an extra $ 40(which they said was a deal from $ 55). The Keratin burns after dying your hair and when they straighten your hair it pulls your hair. It was a painful experience. While I was waiting for the treatment to finish, another woman came over to me and told me I must purchase the keratin shampoo and conditioner in order to maintain the treatment so without the shampoo and conditioner the hair treatment would be ineffective. That became another $ 44. I was told about another product that they recommended but there was no way at that point I was buying anything else. After 5 ½ hours at the salon, I was told that they only accepted cash and I had to go to the ATM in the deli around the corner. What salon does not accept credit cards? Needless to say I had had it with my experience and left $ 115 poorer and feeling like an idiot. I would have never gotten any of this done had I known the whole ordeal was going to cost me $ 250(after tip). I will say that my hair color is beautiful and I have gotten many compliments but I’m not going back.

I’ been to a better salon. Never busy, which should explain it. Olga colored my hair and ruined it. My hair was dark brown, I asked for a light color, so she had to bleach it but at the end left being brunette!!! Ruined my hair, which I can’t color for a few months now– not to ruin it. Prices are high for the quality they offer! Will not be going back.

Place looks decent since the remodel. Cant figure out why it is that theyre NEVER busy anymore. The only one I ever see cutting hair is Serge, by the entrance. Everyone else is always just sitting around yappin it up. Serge is quick and good, but he’s usually busy… but having said that, I’ve never had to wait more than 20 mins.

My boyfriend goes here regularly to see Roma about a good cut. He always ends up leaving looking quite dapper, and the salon looked nice and has somewhat reasonable prices, so I decided to go in. The shampoo was freaking awesome. I should have paid her an extra $ 5 to just keep massaging my head! haha I ended up having Ilona for a stylist, and she was phenomenal. I haven’t had my hair cut professionally since 2007, so I was thrilled that she managed to do exactly what I wanted her to do with my hair, including a nice wavy blow dry and fixing the unevenness I had caused by cutting my own hair for three years. Now it looks fantastic, healthy, and bouncy. I feel like a Victoria’s Secret model or something(not to mention that the boyfriend loves it). The incredible thing about it is that a wash, cut, and blow dry only cost me $ 35! I’ll be coming back regularly, and I’m glad to have had such a good experience.
