The food is 5-star quality; the service isn’t. As nice as the people behind the counter are, I am consistently frustrated by their prioritization of some customers over others. I once ordered by phone so I wouldn’t have to wait for them to make it. I waited 5 minutes before heading over, which took another 5 minutes. When I arrived, the sandwich maker said he was JUST about to start it. Yes, it was busy but that’s not an excuse! What’s the point of ordering by phone if he wasn’t going to make it until I arrived?! Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I returned today and was excited to see that there wasn’t anybody in there. The sandwich maker was downstairs and would arrive shortly; by the time he walked up, two other men had arrived. I was worried that he would take their order first, but was relieved that he heard me and my friend first since we arrived first. But of course, this doesn’t have a happy ending. Not only are the two men served before me and my friend, our food wasn’t started on until AFTER they had been given their food, clearly showing that he wasn’t multitasking and indeed served them first. WHATTHE F*#@? I will never return to this deli.
