DO NOT!!! I repeat! DO NOTTTTTTT USE THIS SHIPPING SERVICE!!! On October 15, 2013 I called GUNTER SHIPPING, INC at 718−671−2000 (BRONX Location). I asked about sending a 45 lb box from my home in the Bronx to Family in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic. The man on the other end took both exact addresses and said it would be at least $ 75 to deliver DOOR to DOOR. I thought that was reasonable so I set an appointment to have the box picked up on October 17, 2013. They arrived as scheduled, measured the box and the fee was $ 80. That was fine for me and they told me the box would be there in 3 weeks. A month later, November 19, 2013 my family says they got a call from the other company in the Dominican Republic and they said my family can only pick up the box in Boca Chica, which is 3 hrs away and they have to fill out some documents and pay $ 53 tax, which is something they DO NOT HAVE! I’m infuriated. I called GUNTER SHIPPING, INC to clarify and see what the problem is. This jerk on the other end told me «I don’t know what to tell you, they have to go get it and pay for it.» I asked why I wasn’t told and he said «I don’t know what happens to it on that end.» Excuse me?! I will not share opinion or how I really feel, I’m just stating the facts, so you know NOT TO USE GUNTER SHIPPING, INC. This is a disaster and I have to pay to have family get to Boca Chica and pay the taxes for this box. Go with another company. DO NOT USE GUNTER SHIPPING, INC. for boxes to the Dominican Republic!
