Nice food, price is affordable. Sushi are fresh, Alaska roll is my favorite! Highly recommend the baked Portugese Chicken over rice. Quick service.

Ever since Ritz Café closed on 8th avenue, the only other HK café style place I can go to is HK Tea and Sushi. To give a bit of context, HK style food is quicker and smaller, and they make use of baking, whereas traditional Chinese is mostly stir-frying and steaming. This place burned down a few years ago and renovated — to be the exact same storefront. Rumor has it they did it to collect the insurance, but that’s neither here nor there. Onto the food now! I’ve been coming here with family and friends for the better part of 10 years now, since I was a pimply prepubescent teen. While the food is good and won’t make a huge dent in your wallet, the sushi is sub-par, especially for Bensonhurst where there’s a sushi restaurant on every corner. What you SHOULD get, though, are the baked dishes — my favourites are the Baked Oysters, the Baked Minced Beef with Rice, and the Baked Portuguese chop with Spaghetti — but only if you are into melted cheesy goodness. Pro-Tip — they do take-out as well, but make sure you hit the minimum for CC to get those points! Cash is always an option as well.

Excellent Sushi extremely fresh. The noodles are fantastic. Huge selection on the menu and the staff are great. Definitely one of my favorite.

I’ve been coming here for over 8 years now. Their food and service has been pretty consistent all this time. Aside from the place burning down a few years ago, I don’t think anything has changed. My family and I would come here all the time when it opened because it was one of the first restaurants in the area to offer Hong Kong style cuisine and fresh sushi. I really like their baked Portuguese dishes — your choice of chicken, pork, vegetables, or seafood over a bed of rice or spaghetti and covered with a creamy white sauce. I also always get their Hong Kong style milk tea. It’s 100 times better than any milk tea you can get at the countless Chinese bakeries along 86th St. Sometimes I purposely come here just to order a milk tea to go. Their sushi is pretty decent but I typically get my sushi fix at other Japanese places. They also have a wide selection of appetizers, sandwiches, and desserts(I recommend the French toast!) that are worth trying too. Overall I give this place 4 stars for good, consistent service. It’s a reliable, safe choice for food if my friends and I don’t know where else to go in this area.

I’ve been to this place for lunch and dinner with groups of 2 – 4. It is conviently located near the D train and some buses. The restaurant has a good amount of seating. Towards the back there is a kitchen and a place for the sushi chefs. Service: The waiters are pretty attentive and will refill your tea or water if you ask them to. At dinner it might be harder to get their attention but during lunch they are usually standing around idly. Food: They serve many types of Asian food from noodles, sushi, to other rice dishes. I’ve tried their udon, tempura, and veggie dumplings. My favorite is the Cheese baked spaghetti. I absolutely recommend this dish since it’s cheap and very filling. You can even split it with a friend. Even though it’s delicious, it is hard to finish in one sitting for me. So I take the leftovers home. Overall I would say come to this place if you’re in the mood for some cheap and yummy Asian food. It’s convenient since it’s in my neighborhood. It’s good for a casual lunch or even dinner!

This is one of those places that has reasonable pricing and great portions. But in all honesty the food is just so unimpressive. They have a huge selection of a different variety of food. The service is fast, but the staff is not very friendly.

We quite liked the food we ordered from here. The Portugese Chicken over fried rice is delish. I also ordered 3 sushi rolls(2 eel avocado and 1 Alaskan) that were good too. Best of all is the prices! I paid less than $ 20 for our 2 meals and they were very large. Good service is definitely a bit more rough to come by though. This restaurant is very primely located on 86th St which means parking can be difficult to come by.

Baked rice: Excellent baked rice with generous portions. The fish with sweet corn baked rice at $ 7.75 is my favorite of all their baked dishes… Imagine crispy, battered fish on top of fried rice and smothered with creamy cheese and scrambled egg sauce. Yum! They don’t skimp on the fish too. Ham and cheese baked rice is my second favorite. Portuguese pork chop comes in third. Sushi rolls: I got the spicy tuna, spicy salmon and Philadelphia rolls. They taste average, but come at a good price. Ratio of rice to filling is 1:4, so you are getting a good amount of fish here. Each roll comes as 6 pieces. Total price for the 3 rolls is $ 8.75 or 2 rolls for $ 6, if you come in before 5pm everyday. Between the 2 of us we managed to finish only the baked rice, leaving ¾ of the rolls untouched. Total bill is $ 18 Another dish I like is the beef hor fun with scrambled egg. They serve you complimentary, unlimited hot tea when u dine in. Food portion is large and comes out fast. 1 tip: it gets crowded on weekend dinners. Good if u can get in for early dinner or lunch, and also catch their sushi special that ends at 5pm

I am a big fan of HK Tea cafes, it reminds me of being in HK. I would say everything was very good and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the HK style French toast, Portuguese spaghetti, Thai style fried rice and seafood egg over ho fun. The Thai style rice was a bit too salty, and dishes were a bit heavy on the gravy. But overall very solid, do come and try it out and be adventurous! I would come back if I’m in the neighborhood.

Price: 5⁄5 — Everything on the menu is very affordable Food: 4⁄5 — Food is tasty and you get an unbelievably big portion Décor: 2⁄5 — The inside looks like of run down and the restroom isn’t the cleanest Overall, you get an extremely good value for what you pay for. The prices are pretty affordable and you get a huge portion. They have an extensive menu so it could take some time to go through all your choices. I got the porkchop baked cheese over rice and it was delicious and so much food! I’ve heard their sushi and sashimi is pretty good, so I’m looking forward to trying that during my next visit.

Very convenient for big group of people! There are many options to choose for food. We did family style and the total for all we order was not expensive at all. It fulfilled our stomach and it was definitely delicious! The waiters came once in awhile to fill up our tea or water. It is a nice place for people to hang out and eat with their family! The lightning from the restaurant is very nice and warming. This restaurant have two bathrooms in back and it is very clean!

Always, always greeted with horrible service lol it’s no surprise. Their food is not bad for the price. I always come here for oysters and the Portuguese pork chop or chicken over rice or pasta. Their wings are good as well but they’re small. I like their lamb, steak, and squid over rice. They have a lot of good food on the menu so you can easily ignore the bad service lol you’ll be too busy eating and chatting with friends. I only come here with friends so I don’t think it’s too bad.

Cheap mediocre chinese food. I alternate between getting the baked spaghetti with portuguese pork chop and the satay beef noodle soup(get this, its delicious). I wouldn’t get the sushi. Their prices are a little more expensive and the quality is not as good. Also, what is up with the tea? I asked for tea. not boiled water. Asian people love their green tea. This is not green tea!

Decent cheap food with mediocre service. My friends & I decided to grab dinner here one day on a Sunday night after exploring Queens. We ended up ordering a sushi boat, bunch of appetizers, and Portuguese rice. We ended up overstuffing ourselves by eating way too much. Portions were generous and with 4 people we still had food left over and realized we were beat. Will be back if I am in the area and plus they have good beverages. Tip: Really bad service hence the lack of stars.

My sibling wanted to say something this year: «You can’t charge $ 5.50 for take out pepper squid, put FOUR quarter sized pieces, then proceed to load the platter with sauce and rice. F*** your business practice. I predict your business will shut by the end of this year»

This place is an average place in Bensonhurst Brooklyn that serves up your typical Hong Kong style dishes. It’s a hit or miss. I’ve been here about 4 times before but this past time was probably my worst. The wait time wasn’t that bad considering that there were only 4 groups ahead of me as I came on a Saturday evening. I waited no more than 10 – 15 minutes to settle down for a table. Food wise, I had the Portuguese chicken with spaghetti while my fried had the cheese baked chicken with rice. I waited about 20 – 25 minutes for my dish while my friend only waited about 10 minutes. We basically ordered the same dish just difference sauces. If I hadn’t complained and reminded the waiter about my dish, they probably would’ve forgotten. Would k come back? Maybe if I had no other option and craving cheap Hong Kong food. Otherwise, maybe not. PS: one plus is that the servings are pretty big.

Awesome place to eat. It offers a variety of food for a very very reasonable price(cheaper than Manhattan and Queens). The portions a huge and the taste are wonderful. Great place to come for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This place gets overcrowded very easily because it seems to be famous!

Geez, it’s like everyone who works here is miserable. I’ve never seen such depressed servers like these. What happened HK Tea & Sushi? What are you doing to your staff? Again like most asian restaurants in this part of town, food is mediocre, but I feel like I can’t complain because of the price you pay. I think I still prefer food in the city even though I’d have to pay more but atleast I’ll like it more than I do here. I used to eat here when I was younger with my family but I guess back then my standards weren’t very high. Big girl in a big world now, things change, the bar is set higher and now that I’ve tried it again, It’s only passable.
