Customer service: Okay-alright Reason: Good customer service yesterday(Friday), but today I came again to get some cookies. The customer service wasn’t good. The younger female who works on Friday were positive, compared to the older woman this Saturday(today), was a bit rude when I only requested mixed-set cookies. I guess I should come on Weekdays. Food: Good Reason:They have tasty and slightly-chewy on the center of the cookies here. But some of them is a little bit sweeter than I thought. Still good, though. Overall Rating: 3.9÷5(But I give it 4⁄5 instead).

I was on a search for a decent loaf of lard/prosciutto bread and happened to drive by this place and decided to check it out, best decision I made, it is one of the most wonderful Italian bakeries I have been to, and they have a delicious prosciutto bread!

New to the neighborhood .You can smell the fresh bread a block away. Girls behind the counter always helpful and smiling. Delicious large pastries. Love the cannoli ‘a

This is my favorite bread bakery holding to a tradition of cooking the bread to where it’s crispy and not soft. There is usually a line but that’s a sign of good eats. No matter which bread you get it is going to be great tasting. Altough please stop letting your customers touch the bread, I find that totally disgusting.

My favorite local bakery to buy fresh italian bread. If you walk by late at night, you can see them preparing bread in the open kitchen so it will be fresh, warm, and delicious for tomorrow morning! Some of my favorites include the Pane di Casa with roasted red tomatoes and the Pizza Dough bread with onions. They have great instructions printed on the bags explaining how to reheat your bread or prolong its moisture. You can also buy the dough to bake the bread yourself.

The breads are the star here. I come here for the lard(prosciutto) bread. Absolutely delicious. The best I’ve ever had in NY. The onion and tomato focaccia is also the pretty incredible —- not as oily as other places and all the breads are packed with so much flavor. The cookies aren’t the best and the selection is not as wide as other bakeries in the neighborhood. But with all those savory breads, who has room for cookies???

The most delicious bread in Brooklyn. My family says that they will live in Bensonhurst as long as Il Fornaretto is still there. When they leave, we leave! Their onion panini are my favorite, although it rivals their foccacia. Their focaccia is perfect – light, crisp on the outside, and never too oily like so many other bakeries. Epitome of fresh. I also love the family tradition of this bakery, and will always support it. There is nothing like approaching it a block away on 17th avenue and smelling their bread. The aroma is a treat alone, let alone getting to enjoy their baked goods! If you have a chance, indulge!

I don’t know… I guess it’s me — seeing that this place gets 4 to 5 stars on average but… I’m not a fan of their bread or their service. First, the bread. It’s really really dense — to each is own I guess. You also better have a good set of teeth because your mouth and jaw are going to work a bit of overtime when trying to get this bread down. I personally like my bread A LOT lighter/airy. It’s all about the bread and without a good bread, you have a bad sandwich. I’ve gone here twice and tried 2 different breads — a French bread type loaf and just yesterday, a regular Italian loaf. If you like the kind of Italian bread that I like, Mazola Bakery by far… makes the BEST Italian bread you’ll ever eat — give both a try and you be the judge, right! With so many other breads(they do offer a large variety) to try at this place, I just MIGHT give it one more chance(the 3 strike rule) just to see what the others taste like — my guess is is that they’re all the same. I’d also like to try their cookies — especially if they make a Seven Layer. I’m a SUCKER for a GREAT Seven Layer cookie… As of right now, in MY lifetime, Mazola wins that gold medal too in Italian cookies. Now, the service… It’s kinda bland — like the bread. There’s just… nothing. They’re there. No niceness, no smiles, no warmness… I actually feel almost unwanted and a tad bit uneasy when I go here — just sayin’…

Try anything! I could just stand there and smell the bread. Onion focaccia is to die for. Also they occasionally make prosciutto crackers… never had them elsewhere and they are delicious!

Been meaning to try this place for a while, but went too late a couple of times. They close at 8:00 Great bread and excellent focaccia with cherry tomatoes. The young lady behind the counter was friendly and gave us an extra focaccia for free. Can’t beat that.

Their onion bread is amazing. They put on a thick layer of sweet caramelized onions. I would recommending toasting it a bit more at home to get the onions crispy and spread some butter on the side. Yummy!

Old school bread. The bread is always fresh, great taste. The staff is always friendly. Be prepared, sometimes there is a line, but it’s well worth the wait. Cookie selection is limited, and there are no cakes.

Oh, loaves of Italian love– years since I have been here. Walked in the day after Irene to find the smell of freshly baked bread smelling familiar and heavenly. Close in distance to the other venerable Royal Crown, I had to implore the Italian owner to let me take pictures of the bread– lined up like Royal Crown– grazie. Brick oven baked this bread rocks, focaccia too. Also sold are the little cookies the old school people eat with their espresso. Real deal old school!

Everything from the selection, staff, and how clean the place is all add up. Great stuff. Why dont I give it five stars? Price. $ 2.50 for a small loaf of semolina bread? GTFOH!

Best bread in Brooklyn… Holidays? Going to someones house to visit? Driving to PA or NJ to see family? This will definitely impress them… Bring the bread… mMMm round focaccia especially… bring enough so the person can freeze the leftover and have it as long as possible… This bread is ideal with any sort of meal. or to be eaten plain. or to spread some nutella on and use as dessert… The shop is small don’t expect anything extravagant, and I am not sure about anything else the store has to offer because I usually spend every dollar I have on the bread…
