I ordered the spaghetti with mushroom tomato sauce and the Caesar salad. I loved the Caesar salad. I was disappointed that they didn’t have whole wheat spaghetti and the sauce was really sweet. I’m not sure if they added sugar to it. I ate it, but it wasn’t my favorite.

Chicken roll was really cold, the cashier was very rude and would not look at me, poor service every time I go, won’t be going back again.

Ordinary at best. Food mediocre and staff service is even worse. Be prepared to be charged extra for everything. Not cool, considering there’s other pizza places on the block which are Cheaper with same quality of food.

I don’t really understand what people are raving about the pizza is just average and it has too much sauce.

I have been eating pizza at J&R for over 35 years since the day they opened. As far as I am concerned they do make one of the best pizza’s in Brooklyn. I have had pizza from most of the pizza places around(luigi’s, Franks, Knapp, Lenny and John’s ect…) and as far as I am concerned not many are as good as J&R. I do love Difara’s but having to wait hours for Dominic to make the pizza and the huge price you pay for that pizza I stay with J&R. Their regular round pizza, the Sicilian and their grandma pies are definitely one of the best around. I also order the chicken Parmesan platter with ziti n extra sauce which always hits the spot.

I came for a slice. They had an old slice of cheese sitting out with some pepperoni that had recently been plopped on it, just waiting to be reheated. It was reheated for less than two minutes. Came out still looking like day-old pizza. Didn’t taste horrible, because hey, I like pizza. It folded right. The sauce was mild and a wee bit sweet. The cheese was a little on the salty end but not bad. The crust was bland tasting but had a fine texture. Not horrible, not great, worth it if you like pizza and want a snack.

Very good square slice and spinach rolls. Delivery is always on time and the actual environment is great also. Will be ordering again

J&R Pizza is one of the worst places to dine in the area. It’s average clientele is a group of homeless locals who spend every evening sipping beer while harassing others. The pizza is mediocre at best. Would definitely go out of my away to avoid!

SO i just moved into the hood and me and my girlfriend were craving Pizza last night. We walked by and saw that these guys were closing but asked if they can still make us a pie. they did and DANG it was good! I am a big fan of Grandma Pies and the one they made tasted so amazing. Def recommend it to people living around Kings highway area. Will order from them from now on! TO improve: I would love to see the place re modeled perhaps, my first impressions weren’t that great from the outside. I am sure if they get a website and just get new tables and paint the walls the pale would get second life and surely return in investment!

Best pizza in the neighborhood and I have tried them all. Their pasta is also great. I like the chicken with marsala and mushroom sauce. I haven’t tried many of the typical heros but I love the pepper egg and the tuna fish which is made fresh to order. I also always get the garden salad.

My neighborhood pizza spot with decent pizza and rolls. It’s one of the bigger pizza spots in the area so if you want to dine in, this is the place to go. It’s pretty clean, the staff are friendly and there’s a tv, for those who don’t want to miss a game.

Bleh. J & R Pizza was great during my junior high school days, but now it just falls short. Their pizza repertoire includes a regular slice, sicilian, white, and marinara, the latter being the only recommendation on my end. This does have a nice conservative environment. More middle-age and older people will enjoy this place and the TV provided. Not really for the younger(below 30) generation. Granted, this place is inexpensive, but the wait in between pizzas can be a huge problem. *I would also not recommend anything other than the pizza. **P.S.: I must say the zeppole are good, but again it is just pizza dough deep fried. Everything deep-fried is better, so I will not give this 3 stars because of that perk.

This was one of the only places open late(we are talking 9PM) on a Saturday night. What’s up Brooklyn? Why are you closing down so early on a Saturday night??? Anyway, we popped in for a quick bite. At first I was a little nervous; the place looked a bit run down/not the cleanest — but the two slices we had were pretty decent(or maybe I was just that hungry).

You can keep DiFara; I’ll take this place. Not only best pizza in Bk but best pizza in NY. Soft doughy crust. Scrumptious cheese. I’ve turned many a soul onto this place. Nice big TV to watch sports or Oprah. Just beautiful all around.

Been going to this local pizza shop since I was a kid. I’m now 29 and things are pretty much the way I remember them. Decent pie, really love the white slice. Nice flat screen that shows games and they sell beer if you are in the mood for that. Atmosphere is lacking but hey most pizza places are.

Ive been here a few times, got delivery too. The place is a standard pizzeria, the pizza is good and they make it how you like it. The place has plenty of tables to sit in and the environment is nice. They have an LCDHD tv playing movies for the customers but its just basic cable, TNT, USA, maybe HBO. Their menu is filled with multiple dishes like spaghetti and meat balls, hot subs, etc. I recommend the place for groups, you can watch the movie and discuss it, as well as get good pizza for your buck. I find myself getting delivery from them, it takes about 20 – 30 minutes but the pizza is hot and fresh. If you live in Midwood or around that area and don’t want to get broke on Di Fara Pizza, or Joe’s Pizza then this is the right place for you to get that good taste for your buck.

When my friends in Brooklyn make their own pizza(which kicks ass, btw) they first buy the dough here. And, the pizza at J & R kicks ass on its own as well.
