Best wine shop in the neighborhood! The selection is fantastic and everything falls in that sweet spot, in terms of price point. I usually walk in, tell them what I’m having for dinner, and they suggest the perfect pairing. Customer service is stellar and friendly. They have frequent tastings and keep their customers on their toes! I hope these guys find great success, as they’re doing it right.

Great customer service. Great wine and most of all they have a tasting every Friday from 5−8pm a wonderful way to end a long day at work as well as a start to a great weekend. Best of all the deliver.

The staff here is absolutely lovely and the only reason I come here! As we know alcohol can be purchased on every other block in some dingy shit hole surrounded by wineos.
It is lovely to be in the presence of some sophisticated alcoholics
Lastly in a neighborhood increasingly plagued by gentrification it is lovely to see the staff matches the neighborhood, you know before it was «up and coming and hip» …#GirlBYE

YES! Quality wine and spirits in the neighborhood! Nice selection, well kept bottles, nice space, helpful staff :)

Came here with a friend that knows the owners. It was a whisky and gin tasting night, according to the people and their facial expressions, the gin and whisky choices were delicious.
I, unfortunately wouldn’t know because I’m not a drinker. I’m rather a punk when it comes to drinking. However, give me a sweet glass of wine, then I’ll be your friend.
The owners were beyond helpful and sweet. They definitely know their wines, etc.
If they don’t hold the beverage you’re looking for, they will find it and order it for you. 50% is due before ordering the case.
I suggest following their Facebook page to find out when the next tasting will be held. Or simply just go take a look for yourself, the layout is great!
I definitely recommend this place and not because of my friend knowing them personally, but because it’s a hot new spot and the prices are groovy too!

Really glad this place opened up. They have tastings on weekend nights, and a large majority of the wines are under $ 20. It’s a relatively big space with things nicely laid out, and not so small that you feel like you’re going to knock over 8 bottles with your bag while walking around. The staff are nice as well, and I’ll definitely be back all the time!

What a gem!
I have already frequented J&R several times and have not been disappointed. The owners are always on hand for questions and recommendations. I tried 2 wines that one of the owners recommended they were so good, I made sure to go back and buy several more bottles before they sold out.
The space is very warm and welcoming, just like the owners. I love that it’s an open space concept. I can actually read the bottles and make a better informed decision about my choices. It’s so hard sometimes to decide on new wines when you’re purchasing behind a glass.
The owners do a great job with offering tastings as well. The handful of times that I’ve been to the store, they were having events there and I love having the opportunity to taste before buying. I also like that they have a pretty good range of pricing as well. There are some bottles that are $ 10-​$ 12 and others over $ 30.
And they have great kosher wines as well. One of my new favorite wines happens to be a kosher wine.
I can’t say enough great things about J&R. I am so happy they are in the neighborhood!

J&R Symposium is quickly becoming a neighborhood gem. It’s more than just buying a bottle of wine… It’s an «experience»; one in which you can browse & speak to wine connoisseur about the best wine for a dinner pairing or just what’s new & fresh. J&R Symposium also offers several wine & spirits tasting far beyond what local liquor stores are currently offering.
