Why so grumpy? I speak Polish. I’m unwaveringly polite, cheerful even. You’re on the phone with your boyfriend and you don’t even interrupt your conversation to take my order (though, to be fair, you do acknowledge it with a scowl and a nod). Why are you giving me that face?
Paczki are too bready and the custard inside the eclairs is way too sweet. Pass.

The J Bakery is a hidden jewel on Nassau Ave. Its a very small storefront as it appears they primarily do commerical sales.
There’s a large assortment of pastries on display but I always homed in on the poppyseed cheesecake, apple cake, and several types of babka. Everything is excellent and cheap.
Its well worth the trip out to Greenpoint alone.

stopped by this bakery today. i brought the BIGGEST chocolate croissant i have ever seen in my life. it was about the size of 3 small fists or maybe two large ones. whichever you have.
i’ve had plenty chocolate croissants. this one was amazing for one simple fact: it was LOADED with chocolate. it squirted at me as i bit into it. as i ate the croissant i realised (with sheer joy) that it was not only filled with chocolate but with NUTELLA!
OMG, chocolate croissants will never be the same.
