I’ve very lucky to live within a few blocks of this place and have a small backyard. I come here every spring and often check in during the season to see what new plants they have in stock that I can take home. The staff is always nice and helpful. They have a wide assortment of plants and its fun and relaxing just to do a little window shopping. I will shop at other stores’ gardening sections, but this place has far better selection. I stick to small potted plants and seedling vegetables, and I think their prices are affordable I like knowing this place is a family-​owned and operated business in Brooklyn and would prefer to spend my money at this nursery than at big box retailers.

Very expensive, but I think they know that options in this part of town are few and far between. Ok service, but unhappy that they delivered the wrong (and cheaper) product, and didn’t do much to make it right. Not the best way to do business, in my opinion.

If you live in this area and have a backyard, you should be going to Kings County Nurseries. A long-​time family owned business, every time I’ve been here I’ve either dealt with the owner or his son. They’re sincerely nice people and are old school Brooklynites. Every time I’ve been here they were happy to make suggestions on planting and all aspects of gardening, of which I am far from an expert. In my book that warrants a visit alone.
Prices are on par for what you’d expect from a nursery. Their stock is expansive (place isn’t tiny) but I feel like the selection could be a bit better at times. Then again, it depends on when you go and what plants they have in stock (seasonality plays a part). Extra supplies are also available, many of which are much better than what you can get at Home Depot. Again, this is a place worth patronizing. Now that the snow is all done (knock on wood), go and do so.

Outstanding selection! Wonderful customer service, very helpful and knowledgable. Same day delivery for $ 35. I highly recommend this mom + pop nursery!

I love this place. I only have house plants since I am in an apartment at the moment but wandering around makes me long for a garden again since they have everything. The place seems family run and they run a great well stocked place with a good range of products and they are helpful without being bothersome or pushy. Come here before you make the schlep to Home Depot!

I bought items from this nursery and followed their advice to the letter. The plants all died and, after consulting with several gardeners, I discovered that their advice was completely wrong. The various fertilizers they sold me basically killed the plants. $ 300 plus labor to plant them down the toilet. I won’t use them again.

I never even stepped foot in this place because their customer service was so horrible.
I called to get advice on what plants to purchase for a Neighborhood Beautification Day. I have no knowledge of plants so I asked the opinion of the employee who answered the phone. I just wanted to know what she would recommend given our budget and how much care the plants/​flowers would need.
The woman was very rude/​forceful and refused to give an answer over the phone. I think she said «I cannot even begin to fathom an answer to that question because our inventory is so vast.» She kept on saying that I would need to come into the store in person to give her the same details I was giving her over the phone. Obviously this person was lacking in customer service skills.
Needless to say, after such a bad experience over the phone I was reluctant to waste my time and meet this person. I called another nursery and had a much better experience.

I have ordered here recently by phone, for grass to be delivered, had a great experience, spoke to owner, he is great, helpful and right on time.
I am on my way again to make a pick up, and love the place. It does get very busy on saturdays, but its a great place, they do EXCELLENT landscaping work and I have never had any issues.

This place was great for me, a beginner gardener. Joe (the owner) was quick to reply to e-​mails, but he advised coming in for help. Saturdays seem to be jam packed, so be prepared to wait a bit. The wait is worth it as Joe walked us around, showed us everything that could work for us. His son-​in-​law Anthony was also very helpful. We were loading up plants and soil and Joe came running across the street to tell us we had the wrong soil. He traded us out and didn’t even charge us the difference (which would have been more). He even followed up later in the week with watering advice via e-​mail, unsolicited.
I easily recommend it, as it has been the best place I have found in the Brooklyn area.

I have been coming here for a few years and I am always happy. This is a good place to start your garden. They have a nice variety of plants, trees, scrubs and flowers for your garden. The owner is a nice. The prices are okay. They also give advice on planting. They take all major credit cards. I think they will deliver too.

I was really hoping this place would be a knockout. They had an ok selection of soil aggregates (vermiculite, sand, peat moss). No good gardening tools. When I asked the not-​so-​friendly owner if could recommend some fertilizer for my indoor herbs, he impatiently said «just use this miracle grow stuff, its fine», which was neither a helpful or knowledgeable response. Do not go here expecting them to give you any friendly gardening advice. Although, maybe an employee would be more helpful. If you need anything a bit out of the ordinary or are concerned with organic gardening this is not a place you will love but you can get by. If you want a bunch of decorative cabbages you should definitely check it out.

This is a good, basic small scale plant nursery. Prices are a little high, but not outrageous.
There’s nothing exotic here — they have decent annuals, shrubs and popular perennials, as well as gardening supplies. Service is very friendly, but if you’re looking for something more than the typical «garden variety» plants, you’ll have to go elsewhere.
