This place makes the best cha siew in Brooklyn! Love coming here for the clay pot rice and rice noodles. The portions are huge and super cheap. An absolute steal eating here. Be prepared to wait a while for the clay pot rice. It can take up to 20 minutes. If you take the clay pot rice to go, they charge an extra $ 2 for the pot. You can always bring it back the next day and they’ll refund the money to you. I always take things to go cause the service is terrible. Takes forever to grab the waiters attention and they never refill your tea.

The food here is really good, actually is really really delicious. The duck is always on point and they’re fresh steamed rice rolls are very tender and soft. They also provide the sweet soy sauce right in the table. The service is fast and each time I come the quality of meats is consistent. Highly recommended!

This is my favorite low budget Chinese restaurant. The ordering can’t get any easier for non– Chinese speakers. Everything is in English and properly labeled with accurate prices which can be lacking in most joints. My favorite thing to order is their fish slice congee and their dried shrimp rice rolls which are the best I have ever had in any restaurant. I wish I had one of these down in Virginia. Their roast meats are delicious and on point as is their beef chow fun. You can also call in your large order and carry out which is so convenient since they only have street parking and you know how Ft. Hamilton is during rush hours.

This is a shady place for decent Chinese food and they are cash only, the two stars go strictly to their dine in experience, when ordering take out rice casserole in the hot stone pot they inflate the original price by $ 1(example is if a beef and egg rice casserole cost 5.95 on the menu they charge you 6.95 +$ 2 for the bowl) not sure if this is even legal… I don’t understand why they mark up the original price if you are getting the same amount of food… I understand the $ 2 for the stone pot which you get refunded for if you return the pot. You get a hit and miss with the service for take out one lady is so rude while another can be nice, they are also quite grimey with soy sauce so you have to be specific as to how many soy sauce you want. I’ve been to their eighth Ave location and I find the waiters so much nicer… I eat here cause it’s close to work but if i had other options I would go else where

This is my go-to modern Chinese spot with friends. This store opens really early and late so I can order my pork with preserved egg congee anytime. It’s a simple dish but it’s so yummy compared to other asian restaurants. I also enjoy their eel claypot rice dish, enough to serve two to three people. Their beef churn fun dishes is okay, they use actual beef slices instead one glob of beef paste(the ones you see in a big dim sum restaurant). They have two different soy sauces for clay rice and dimsum plates and it really makes a difference! All of their options are generally good and really affordable. A+ There was one time I didn’t have enough cash on me and the nearest bank was three avenues down. By the time I got back, the congee was cold. However, they gave me a new qt. of hot congee. They made my morning, thanks nice ladies :)

If you’re in the mood for some tasty rice rolls or congee and don’t mind a long wait time, swing by this place for a quick bite to eat. Everything on the menu is fairly cheap in comparison to most Chinese restaurants and the portions are substantial. Came by here for a quick early morning breakfast and ordered 2 types of rice rolls(beef and Chinese donuts) and a fish congee. In general, most of these items don’t take too long to make. However, it did take quite some time for the food to arrive. Once the food came, it wasn’t as hot as I would have expected for a dish that looked fresh and neat. For the congee, the portion was big enough to share between two people. It was a clean and crisp congee taste(rarely do I encounter horrible congee) and it tasted decent. As for the rice rolls, these were pretty tasty! Except that they weren’t as hot. The crispy roll with the Chinese donut in it was pretty good, since you can taste the crunchiness of it. As for the beef, I will say, the smooth and creamy like texture definitely stood out to me as being delicious. Overall, decent food(the menu offers a ton of different options!), poor service, but great prices for the amount of food you get. Also, do keep in mind that parking around this area is super tight, no matter what time of day you swing by.

My family and I enjoy coming here because we think they make the best claypot rice in Brooklyn. My family and I ordered 2 Eel Claypot Rice, 2 Preserved Duck Rice, 1BBQ Roast Pork over Rice, and 1 Fish Paste Ho Fun Noodle Soup. The BBQ Roast Pork is flavorful, tender, and juicy. The sauce that is on the roast pork ends up going on some of the rice, which makes it taste even better. One of my favorites here is the Fish Paste Ho Fun Noodle Soup. It is a hot bowl of noodle soup. They give a good portion of Fish Paste and plenty of noodles. Good soup to warm you up on a chilly day. The claypot rice here are the general go to dish when you come here. It doesn’t matter what you put on top of the rice. The meats will infuse the rice with flavor. You also want to add the soy sauce that typically goes on top of it. The soy sauce will enhance more flavor in the rice and make it even more savory. It is always a great pot of rice to have. Plenty of other options here, but the recommendations are the claypot rice.

Always good. But don’t arrive too late or their all out of the tasty meats in the window. Great Singapore noodles as well. Some of the tastiest around.

Average food if you actually receive it. First incident: ordered food for pick up only to be told they gave the food to another customer and they needed another 30 minutes to prepare it again. Second incident: ordered food for pick up and half of the food wasn’t included. I guess if you intend to eat in, you’ll actually receive your food.

Jook(rice congee) and clay pot rice. The staples of Hong Kong cuisine. This place used to do a good job with both but the quality has consistently gone down hill. the boneless spare ribs over rice or char sieu fan is what to get. Rice noodle or churn fun is average. Not really worth ordering. Get the roast pig or chicken over rice. Cheap eats for Brooklyn’s china town

The rice rolls and claypot rice are a good reason to come to King’s Kitchen. The wait is long for takeout Chinese restaurant standards; 20 – 35 min depending on how large your order is. I usually get chicken&mushroom and the«3 roast meats». The soy sauce is delicious and I wish they threw in a few more containers’ worth. I would advise to skip the salted fish claypot. great for fried rice, but terrible in a claypot as it REEKS. Two stars off for an incredibly incompetent cashier who always gets our orders wrong. The wait for food is so long that we don’t bother waiting for our corrected order. They will also bicker with you incessantly about how they are not wrong. Yea, sure… because I read my order off the menu incorrectly every.damn.time? If it weren’t for my parents being such huge fans of their food, I would not care to return.

King’s Kitchen is like most Chinese restaurants, a middle ground between decent food at affordable prices but lacking in some categories such as service and availability. This place is a great location for Cantonese style food, ranging from rice dishes to noodles and soups. However, the way it’s prepared may not be to the liking for many as they are usually drenched in a heavy amount of oils. Not every dish has been covered in a coating of oil, but enough of them has been that I’ve noticed it on more than one occasion. Most people come here for their three treasured rice boxes(sam bo fan). On a normal course of the day they have options for roast pork, chicken or duck to be combined on top of rice and a side of vegetables. A quick and filling meal. These items typically don’t last to late evening because of the demand and they don’t make anymore after a certain time in the day. Their kitchen(the one in front by the windows) looks clean. The eating area is decently sized, with a big screen TV and bright lights. The largest con I have about this place comes from their lack of good service. When I was ordering the lady kept looking and texting on her phone, not that I am against people texting once in a while when they’re at work, but her eyes were on her phone more often than anywhere else. The second con I have is that their food takes forever to come out, I was ordering takeout food from their kitchen because the front had already cleaned up and there were no more rice boxes for the day. From the time after I had ordered to the time I finally received my food, took an hour. One hour for takeout of the simplest dishes like Yeung chow fried rice, beef chow fun, and Singapore chow mei fun. How is it possible for 3 dishes such as these to take an hour to cook? It’s just so weird standing there by the door, next to a table of people eating for that long! Still, I have to give props for the food because it isn’t bad, just not spectacular. They are open later into the evenings so it’s an option for a late bite. I won’t go out of my way to eat here, but I wouldn’t be against it either if someone suggests it.

King’s Kitchen may be Brooklyn’s answer to Big Wong King in Manhattan! It’s a great answer. This place has to be doing something right if there is a line of local Brooklyn people waiting to be seated on a Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. Food: this place is intensely price competitive. Two people can each have an order of duck or chicken with noodle soup along with two orders of vermicelli rolls for under $ 20 before tip. The quality is phenomenal. I was a happy American fat kid with a tongue from Hong Kong. Service: extremely responsive. The staff is quite friendly. Décor: much cleaner than a typical Chinese fast-food restaurant. Fast food here is faster than the typical McDonald’s. Not to mention healthier. I shall return.

My friend and I got there an hour before closing. We sat in the front as there were no other seats. People walked in and cold air was blowing in. My friend ordered an eel rice within 2 minutes they said they don’t have and the boss rushed the waiter to tell us to quickly order in Chinese. So we ordered a simple veggie and rice casserole. As we waited and felt cold, we told him to raise the heat which he reluctantly did but once he did it, the place warmed up though he kept insisting that it was the seat which caused the problem. The order came and within eating halfway through the veggies there was a hair spotted. We brought it to his attention. At first he accused us of planting the hair then he comes back saying he can only exchange it for a take out dish. We ask for a refund but he says he’s not the boss and can’t do it so we tell him to call anyway which he says it’s difficult to do. We tell him he has an obligation to ensure proper hygiene and sanitary welfare of the customer in which time he reluctantly takes the order off our bill. Terrible handling and I won’t be back.

Want affordable good food? Stop by here! Must try their casserole hot pots! What better than to eat in a cold day right?! Came here with my friend and we each ordered one different casserole and shared it together. It was more than enough and had half remaining to go. Each costed $ 5. What a steal! Plus it fills you up! Aside from their hot pot casserole, I see a lot of people also eating their chicken rice, pork rice as well and it looks humongous! Must try everyone!

After my previous review, I have visited this venue quite often since this location is so close to my parents’ house. I have noticed significant improvements since that are noteworthy. Free Wifi is now available! Blizzard Juno got us snowed in New York City today! Along the streets of Fort Hamilton Parkway, there wasn’t much activity compared to a normal day. In search for food, my siblings and I knew we can depend of King’s Kitchen to be opened! Indeed, they were! Rice Casseroles are really good here. My family loves the crispy rice at the bottom because it’s so crunchy and it absorbed all the aroma of the meat you chose. We highly recommend the Minced Meat with Poached Eggs and the Spare Ribs with Black Bean Sauce. Each comes with a generous amount of food on top of the rice and not to mention, the sauces mix evenly with the rice. Every bite is so tasty. There is an optional special soy sauce on the side just for the Rice Casseroles but it’s not necessary because the sauces are already good! I did notice that the clay pot is a bit smaller than before. Rice Rolls. I previously complained that their rice rolls are really dry BUT now, they are masters at this craft. This may be King’s Kitchen’s greatest strength. Freshly made when you order. They offer different toppings as well like cha siu, shrimp, beef, and etc. My personal favorite would be the dried shrimps and it comes with scallions and cilantro. Not only tasty but it is pretty enough for a picture! Congee with Fish Slices. Yum! Yum! Yum! Comes in a big red bowl, perfect to share among three people — a bowl each. Not to mention, generous amount of fish slices. I love the sweet fishy flavor in every bite. There are bits of ginger and scallions present to rid the overly fishy aroma. Congee was super hot and smooth. This is always a favorite of mine. Noodle Soups. There are so many combinations of simple ingredients such as wontons, dumplings, soy sauce chicken, roasted duck, and fish balls to pair with noodles of your choice — rice noodles, regular yellow noodles, and etc. Whatever you choose, it’s good(err…okay, maybe not the fish paste!). What makes it spectacular is the natural chicken-based broth, which makes it perfect for a cold day like today. We tried the Dumplings with Rice Noodle Soup today. The dumplings are not your everyday ones. They are homemade with minced meat, mushroom, and bits of greens and carrots wrapped in a yellow-wonton sheet. In my own observation, the mushroom taste is heavy but I personally liked it very much. Overall, customer service have improved significantly the many times I have been back. There is immediate attention when I needed and tea cups are refilled so quickly. I truly appreciate King’s Kitchen’s existence and I love the simplicity of their homemade style Cantonese food when all I want is comfort food. Tip: Time to time, they serve up special dishes such as Tong Yuan, a rice ball soup served savory or sweet and Zongzi, a glutinous rice filled with meats and wrapped with bamboo leaf. Come back during major Chinese Holidays like Dongzhi(around late December). They serve up Tong Yuan(Rice Ball Soup), a glutinous rice in a savory broth, topped with bits of Chinese sausage, minced shrimp, preserved duck meat, radish, mushrooms, and etc. This is a traditional dish symbolizing reunion/unity with family. My dad makes the best version of it but their version is on par!

This is the second location that has opened up. I highly recommend the rice noodles. These are fresh and made once the order is place. it is quick and fresh unlike the one pre-made for dim sum. The congee has no MSG added and the favor really show. The yeung chow fried rice was nothing to special. The casserole rice or bo zap fan is something that is rare in Brooklyn. It come in a clay pot and has it own soy sauce. I got the Eel claypot rice. I liked the rice(especially the crunchy burnt rice on the bottom of the claypot, of course). The eel to rice ratio was so off. It seem like the clay pot rice has eight thinly sliced eel pieces on it. The Eel need more eel sauce since the eel itself was dry and tasteless. I will probably not order this dish again. The waiter seem to be behind the counter to much. I had to wave them down to take our order and get refills on the tea and water. I will probably come back, since my parents love this place.

I have pros and cons about this place and their food but I’ll stick with a higher rating because I will still come back here to eat regardless of the cons. This place is at convenient location with good prices where I can grab a quick bite before work. This place has one of the best roast duck that has a unique sweet juicy flavor to it, but can’t compare to Chinatown’s roast duck which has a more potent taste. The rest of the BBQ meats can’t compare. The roast pork and roast pig is really dry and lacks a lot of flavor. The clay pot rice is really worth it and the soy sauce that’s used for it tastes amazingly well together. I love the crispy crust the claypot rice makes. If you order the claypot rice pot to go, they’d charge you extra for the bowl and you can get reimburse when you bring it back. To be honest though, I think it’s just more worth it keeping it for yourself if you plan to cook your own casserole at home one day. I do not like the salty fish on one of the casserole because it’s not salty and flavorful enough, it’s more on the fishy side. The rice rolls are amazing, freshly made hot and soft to your table. I’d say they have one of the best rice rolls ever. I’m skeptical to try their fried noodle/rice dishes because it doesn’t seem like they specialize in that. The congee is just okay, but if I had to choose a favorite I’d go for the seafood congee. The congee is not thick and creamy enough. It’s more on the plain, kind of watery side. The seating is weird. If it ever gets really packed, the people sitting against the wall wouldn’t be able to get out or in. The service here is always terrible for me, regardless if I come alone or in a group. It’s hard to flag them down to order or ask for something. When you do get their attention, they act like they don’t want to work there. Oh, and I once saw a huge roach here.

They have another location on 8 ave. I’ve been to both location and it’s pretty much exactly the same, from the interior to the menu. Very cheap prices. Good for breakfast(they have lots of congee choices that I haven’t try yet) lunch and dinner. I’ve had: 1. BBQ pork — very good. 2. Shrimp rice roll — shrimp is fresh and rice roll are thin and taste good. 3. Dried shrimp rice roll — lots of dried shrimp. Freshly made when you order. Also tasty. 4. Chicken mushroom clay pot rice — very well marinated and comes out in 15 minutes.
