Kitchens and Closets

I recently purchased a 2-​bedroom coop in Queens, and hired K-​One Floors in the Summer of 2014 to completely redo bathroom (remove and replace); demolish a wall between kitchen and living room; add a kitchen island (cabinet with granite counter top); replace existing counter top with granite; add new back splash; build a new closet (California style); re-​shelve closets; do some electrical work; paint walls; sand and seal wood floors; replace hardware (eg, doorknobs, cabinet handles); and install new microwave and new kitchen sink. This was my first renovation project and I was a bit nervous going into it, especially given all the «nightmares» one hears about with contractors. As soon as I met Gordon (the owner) I felt as though I was in «good hands.» Gordon was a pleasure to deal with, very professional, and trustworthy. He was always accommodating (was available to meet me at the property when I requested), and he took the time to answer all my questions and patiently explained any details I asked about. Throughout the process, I had the sense that he was very organized and that he managed his crew efficiently. He is very quality oriented and has an eye for detail. In fact, he made several suggestions to help pull the finished project «together» from an aesthetic standpoint. Overall, I was very satisfied with the quality of work, and the project was completed within budget. His crew was polite and cleaned up nicely after they finished. Furthermore, both Gordon and his wife (family business) are very nice people with a sense of integrity. Working with K-​One floors made what could be an extremely stressful experience much less so. The project went smoothly and the whole experience was overwhelmingly positive. K-​One Floors gets an A+ rating from me for quality, meeting budget expectations, professionalism, communication, accommodation, decency, and niceness! Use them and won’t be sorry — only very pleased!

Very hard working, clean, honest, and professional. We couldn’t be happier. We didn’t have to do anything. They did a beautiful job and cleaned the place spotless. We only wish we had known about them sooner!
