The chicken is really good and pretty cheap too, but I’d advise against the fried rice. There seems to be little bits of chinese roast pork and flavors didn’t really mix well with any of the entrée options. Get the chicken. Maybe ribs too.

I always buy food here and it’s delicious, we even have friends that come from Connecticut and we come here and eat $ 80 worth of food. But today we decided to call in an order for take out … We changed our mind and decided we’d like to eat at the restaurants but the staff wouldn’t allow us. They said if you order over there phone you can not eat in the restaurant because it’s already packed. When we asked for a manager they told us the manager was unavailable, I offered to leave my number so they could call me but the girl wouldn’t take my number. She did give me a bumper sticker and told me to call… I will. But I’m upset… The persons at the counter were a tad bit rude. Now I have to go home and do dishes.

It’s a great restaurant, I have only come here for lunch. I think it’s dinner is the same menu. The pictures will speak better than words. The only downside they don’t have water so you have to order drinks but they are inexpensive. Great place!!!

Loved the chicken. Very moist and flavorful. Same for the ribs… Touch of soy sauce I think in the marinade… Delicious. Pork fried rice also a winner. The typical Peruvian sauce might have used a bit less vinegar.

Good pricing with interesting combos that are a cross between Peruvian and Chinese restaurants. I had the #7(¼ chicken, three ribs, + fried rice and salad). The chicken was normal like anywhere else. Ribs were also just fine. The fried rice was rather bland. I prob wouldnt eat here again, because I prefer to eat healthy. However, not a bad option overall.

The food is not impressive. I’ve had better. The hostess/phone answering lady is absolutely rude. Clearly does not understand proper customer etiquette.

Let’s ignore the take-out only vibe and the dining hall style décor/seating in this place. That doesn’t matter because the price/flavor profile is more than enough to make this place worth it. I visited the first time recently with my husband, having previously only experienced Peruvian food at the Northern Blvd crowded behemoth, Pio Pio. So it was nice to be able to sit down and eat this kind of food minus the stressful setting with lines out the door that is the standard at Pio Pio(and I still have no idea why). Chicken was flavorful, the garlic sauce was very tasty and the accompanying yucca frita and fried rice were nice too. We had dinner for 2 and leftovers for lunch the next day for $ 25, can’t complain. A good place to get your fix if you’re specifically craving Peruvian-style roast chicken.

I have missed classic Peruvian chicken. For like $ 10, I got excellent coffee and a large portion of chicken and rice. My favorite part was the yellow sauce. Even though I got the ¼ portion, it seemed more like ½ chicken because I couldn’t finish all of it. Also, I wish they would let me get the coffee to go.

Cheap. Chicken so good. Cheap. Cheap. Cheap. Love. Love. Love. Wish they didn’t close so early(9:00pm). Can’t wait to try the ribs!

The roasted chicken here is the best in the neighborhood! I come here to pick up a whole chicken for dinner and soups since we don’t have any grocery stores that offer them around here. It’s really clean inside too, but I don’t like many of the basic menu items from here. Rice is always greasy and the beans always taste like dishwater?! I haven’t tried the more authentic dishes though which is what everyone raves about but the chicken is 5 star alone. Roasted to perfection with a nice crispy skin and only $ 8!

I thought about giving this 4 stars initially, but that wouldn’t be fair given that I’ve had intrusive thoughts about the rotisserie chicken here multiple times since my last visit. There are other good things on the menu, one of them is their version of the often impossible to resist wonder-food that is lomo saltado, but the clue is behind the counter. Dozens of spinning birds. Wait two minutes by the counter and you’re guaranteed to see at least one Dad enter with a frenzied child picking up a chicken to bring home to Mom. I had half a chicken with rice and salad. The ‘salad’ consists of a couple of iceberg leaves and a limpid tomato, but I should have known that, and really, who gives a toss once you bite into that succulent chicken. Douse it in their excellent aji and maybe wash it down with some chicha morada if you’re feeling like a big kid and I’d be surprised if you didn’t enter a state of grace.

Put all the other pork places to rest. Pound for pound. Inch for inch. This place has them beat hands down. Friendly and prompt service, in a comfortable environment with ample seating. This is a Peruvian place, and the there is a hint of cumin in the taste, but this is one of those rare Unilocal confluences of 5 star price meets 5 star food. For $ 6.50 I had the best, most succulent and meaty ribs I’ve had since I’ve lived in New York City. Forget the food trucks. Forget the special smoking techniques. Just come here, and get what is in the picture. It’s worth the trip.

I used to work at a peruvian restaurant so i know what it’s supposed to taste like. I usually go to the dominican restaurant castillo a few doors down from this place. so i decided to try it one day. The menu is very small and the chicken was dry. Also the service was slow. overall i wouldnt go back here again.

5 starsss. I thought I rated this place already but I didn’t. Having been here atleast 15 times over the years since it’s opening, this is probably the only highly consistent restaurant. The rotisserie like others mentioned is deserving of it’s 5 star rating on it’s own. What more can be said other than the chicken is down right perfect. Add some of that green sauce and wow. To make matters even better, the frickin rice and beans, fried yuca and plantains are downright superbbbbbb also. The other things I tried in this restaurant are the sweet and sour chicken which I think is over cooked and slightly chewy and the italian chicken entrée which I can’t say ANYTHING kind about . I’d like this restaurant to get better with it’s salad. Although its simple and taste good with the french dressing sauce, they can add more to it like avocados and carrots etc and also come up with another entrée every month or so because i doubt many people buy that italian chicken entrée. Based on the merit of their rotisserie chicken I gotta give this place 5 stars. P. s. Chicken is better eaten asap after purchase.

Well have eaten here twice. The first time here decided to deviate and try something that was not a main rotisserie dish. So I had the Pollo Saltado dish which consisted of chicken cutlet, onions, tossed in french fries with rice and beans. This dish would be rated for me at 2 stars at best, there was barely any chicken and its quite strange to have french fries tossed with onions in some clear sauce that made the french fries soggy. That’s for me the dish seemed like a starch overdose. I did have the Platano Maduro which cost extra and was very well prepared. Now the second time I tried the main staple, #1−½ Chicken combo with Rice and Beans. The chicken was very well cooked, moist interior with a crispy skin. The size of the chicken was much larger than other places that charge more for a smaller bird. The rice and beans were very good. The chicken was not seasoned very well or the seasoning was just not enough, I like a good seasoned bird. Overall a good place to find some of the best rotisserie chicken in Sunset Park. If not for the first dish the place would get 4 stars at best.

Can I rate this blessing on earth twice and give it 10 stars? I don’t care what anyone says, this is now my favorite place in Brooklyn. And to think, I actually lived in Sunset Park, and would consider moving back just to frequent this place on a weekly basis! I was catapulted back to my mom’s country when I came here after visiting a relative and I was seriously craving pollo a la brasa. With Inca Kola in hand and and a forkful of rotisserie chicken, I actually had an out-of-body-Peruvian experience. The skin was crisp and perfectly charred in some places, the white meat was so juicy and flavorful, and the price was right– $ 6.25 for half a chicken, french fries, and salad. My mom had a quarter chicken plus rice and beans for $ 4.50. Simply amazing! We loved the chicken so much, we bought a whole chicken and a couple of cans of Inca Kola to take home for dinner the next day. I’m definitely going back, and definitely updating my review after I try out other tasty items on the menu– washed down with Inca Kola, of course!
