This place is disgusting. DONOT come here. The worst customer service I’ve ever seen. The food is extremely low quality. Took longer than what it should’ve. The young girl named ‘Majo’ taking orders wanted my friend who was with me and came eating a yogurt to leave because of that while I was making business and paid way to much for what I ordered. Very overpriced. He could drink his juice but not finish his yogurt because it wasn’t bought here… Which makes no sense at all. I guess this is why this place was dead empty and I was the only customer here.

The food is fresh and tasty, the drinks are really good and the service is awesome. Best place to grab some tacos and drink good cocktails. Bartenders are fun and friendly, highly recommended if you want great food at a nice place, and with good prices. Love La Lupe!

Come for the happy hour margarita special and a snack. We’ve been here a few times and the food is good but not amazing. Friendly owner and staff, clean, and in a nutshell a nice easy hangout spot.

All y’all haters gtfo. Karla is rad, knows her tequila and mezcal, her food is amazing and the portions are glorious. Best jalapeño margarita, awesome music, great build-out format of the space. Best flauta, the chicken was still tender and generously garnished. Pickled jalapeños EVERYWHERE at condiment stations. The food is flavorful, the attention to detail meticulous and the staff are focused on creating a solid, delicuous product in a wonderful space.

I have eaten here a few times since October 2015 and the food is always delicious and fresh and the service always pleasant and on point. I always order the chicken bowl and they recommended a drink that tastes just like sweet tea which I enjoy very much. I love the rustic appeal mixed with abstract Mexican art. I have come with 3 different people and they have liked is as well. From Karla’s responses, I see she is feisty but has always been kind and courteous to me. I definitely recommend it for lunch!

The veggie bowl, a strong margarita, and good service made our already good night even better. We brought our 2 year old with us and didn’t receive glares from the hipster crowd… kinda unusual for the hood. And It felt a lot like being transported to Austin, TX. It was solid food and a fun time. Go here!

I really love the tacos here. The guacamole is also delicious. It’s a great local spot for authentic tacos, and the prices are actually pretty reasonable, especially for the area. One of the best things about this place is that they’re open relatively late. The food is also pretty quick. Fish taco: Delicious. Fried fish. Chicken taco: Delectable. Truly mouthwatering. They’re decent-sized, too. They’re not mini, mini tacos like the $ 0.99 ones you find in Cali(which I love to death), but they’re a good size.

Bland«mexican» food made for hipsters/tourists. I had high hopes but was disappointed. I wish I could say something better because I really wanted to like this place. Surly, unfriendly young person mixing drinks and taking orders. I noticed they took a Tacombi-esque route with the décor and self service which is fine, but the end result is impersonal and blah. This place also needs to be a lot cleaner. Not acceptable given the enormous array of very good Mexican food in NYC and Brooklyn in general. If you’re going to add to an already crowded market then add something outstanding.

Great place to grab tacos and a margarita that won’t kill your wallet. Order at the register, collect your cocktail, then find a seat while your food is made to order. Drinks come up quick and food isn’t too far behind. Jalapeños and hot sauce are plentiful as well.

I loved the tacos and the queso fundido. Ambience is great, staff was cool and had original and down to earth personalities. I didn’t feel a bad vibe as described… I guess you get what you give. show respect and you will be treated with respect. Thank you Karla:)

I stopped in here one afternoon to get food to go. It’s cute inside and the bar area was nice for getting a beer while waiting. The tacos were tasty but the tortilla was getting soggy and falling apart by the time i got home. The guacamole and queso fundito were really yummy though!

I noticed a trend with Unilocal reviews here. The more reviews a Unilocaler has, the lower the star rating. I respect Unilocal as a great search engine and I know it actually brings many businesses more customers, which I always support. It’s just those few entitled amateur critic Unilocalers with way too much time on their hands that can ruin the Unilocal experience for everyone. That being said, this is the BEST fish taco I’ve had in my life. I dream about it every day. The food is so good, I don’t care if the staff beats me or publicly shames me. I will keep coming back for more. It’s a cute little rock n roll place with soul, with spunky staff with lots of personality. Bravo!

Maybe I am a pretentious Unilocaler that things she knows everything about good food. I just really do not desire to come back to this place. Why come back here when the chips suck? The tacos were okay, but I would rather go downstairs to the taco place under the apartment.

One of the first warm spring evenings and I wanted to go out for dinner and drinks but not too far from home. I saw La Lupe once or twice in passing on my walk home from the train and decided to have dinner there. Very happy I did. Started out with a spicy Margarita(the Picosa if I’m not mistaken) — so good. Spicy and cool — great combo. Along with one of those and 2 Coronas, we shared chips & guac, each of us had one chorizo, one carnita and one beef taco, and each had an elote. Guac was tasty and a great amount of it to go with the chips. The tacos were nice and the sauces provided were great — I recommend the hot and fruity one the most. I haven’t eaten chorizo much in the past, but these tacos were my favorite of the three types, all served in soft but lightly crisped taco shells. The elote, though — man was it good. No, it was great. Perfect amount of char from the grill, seasoned perfectly. Nailed it — a real winner in my book. I’ve been back three more times since and will for sure be back again and again. Just steps from the Myrtle/Broadway J/M/Z stop, this is a great spot to check out. Good music playing, friendly crew working there, cool and relaxed layout.

La Lupe is THEBEST. Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff, and fantastic Tuesday/happy hour margarita special. The spicy margarita is so good I have daydreams about it. The normal margaritas are great also and you cannot beat the $ 5 special. I thought the chorizo was my favorite until I had the carnitas, so now I have to get both. I recommend the burrito because its melty and delicious, but the tacos are also fantastic and you can get away with a meal for less the $ 10 as they are filling. Cannot wait til they start brunch!

La Lupe is a great no frills taquería. It’s the kind of place you can order juicy tacos, hefty burritos and some Mexican beer to wash it all down. Or a spicy margarita if you like to get saucy! It’s not a fancy place, nor should it be. When the weather is warm there’s even a little outdoor patio in the back where you can enjoy your tacos in style. I’d recommend the carnitas taco and the fish taco to start, and if you’re anything like me, the horchata porter for dessert. Yum!

This gem of a restaurant has a comfortable atmosphere. There is plenty of seating with unassuming outdoor space! The décor is vibrant and feels very homey. You must have the elote! The charred Mexican corn was delicious. The carne asada was a bit tough for my taste and the carnitas was reserved in seasoning. Nothing you can’t fix with hot sauce, lime, and guacamole.

Kitchen closes at 10pm — ****booooooo***** Eat here on May 3, 2015– The place looks nice but you order at the counter, they give you a number. So thought out the time you are there you have someone screaming numbers — obnoxiously loud so that anyone outside can hear the number. The queso fundido con chorizo came out with onions and sour cream on top. It was so oily and gross. I’ve been eating this my whole life and it was one of the worst I’ve eaten. The wraps that came with it even sucked. The chorizo was ground up and slices. I didn’t care for it! The tostada was good but the tostada it self was so hard and not eatable. They serve your tacos burritos and tostadas on cheap paper plates. With all the sauce and«wet» items it soaks through and you get pieces of paper in your food. I’ve been to so many Mexican places and I would not go out of my way for this place — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - Nice response Owner I wish you luck with you horrible customer service and dirty nasty horrible mouth you will have a for rent sign in front of your window soon!!! You wouldn’t dare say it to someone’s face because you would probably get decked by someone! You really have a problem with constructive criticism– you must of had a miserable life growing up.

My friend and I found this restaurant marvelously fine. It was totally pleasant! The chorizo taco was amazingly flat with meat tasting like no other chorizo I have had. It was totally unexpected for a three dollar taco! Nothing but meat. The pork in the Posole was tender and sweet — my favorite part of the meal. The radishes added a nice kick and the soup was thin — the ideal model. There was a whole wedge of unsqueezed lime at the bottom — surprise! The burrito bowl was mushy. It made for easy chewing! Great for grandmas and babies alike. And with alcoholic drinks over ten dollars in bushwick, it is truly family friendly! I think the hot sauces were made in house. There was a smokey one and a fruity one. Neither of them were offensive! I liked that a lot! The bathroom was open concept — how Avant garde! I like that they use antibacterial soap and swinging doors for a shared urinal smaller than the size of most NYC closets with no light. At least it is gender neutral — but hopefully gender non conforming folks also don’t care much about privacy. This place poses steep competition for the cheap mom and pop local joints with large portions and friendly staff. If you like to be surrounded by white people(except those hidden in the kitchen) and great ambiance, come enjoy! Oh – 15 dollar credit minimum, but that shouldn’t be hard!

The food was mixed: The appetizers/sides were fantastic, the other parts just ok. Guacamole and chips: 5 stars. Very fresh, clearly homemade. The chips fried today, rather than out of a packet. Elote: 5 stars delicious corn and creamy cheese messy thing. Fish taco: 3 stars. Ok, but nothing special. Veg bowl: 3 stars, also ok but not special Carne flauta: 2 stars. Meat was meh and flauta was our greasy bad choice. We liked the place and the décor is cool. The service was fine, it was very empty at 2:30pm on Sunday. The owner asked if I had any better mexican recipes, and appreciate her desire to improve. I don’t have any recipes to offer, but I recommend she gets down to «Los Tacos No.1» in chelsea to try some 5 star tacos.
