I have never written a review on Unilocal before, but I went to see Dr. Lieberman for the first time today and I really felt the need to offer a different perspective than some of the other posts here offered. I found him incredibly comfortable to talk with, and he was quick to answer my questions and explain anything I was unsure about — definitely professional. But he was also funny, and we joked throughout the appointment and frankly had quite an enjoyable time, considering I was there to have my eyes examined. I also don’t understand the misogynist comment — I’m a woman and experienced nothing of the sort. Maybe if you’re humorless and take yourself too seriously you’d be better off with another doctor, but I will recommend Dr. Lieberman to everyone I know and definitely go back there if I have any other eye issues.

I’ve never been to Dr. Lieberman, but Michele F’s review makes me want to go there. He sounds like a hoot.

I have such an entertaining and informative time whenever I stop in at Dr. Lieberman’s office for my eye exams and the dreaded drops to dilate my pupils. His doctor-patient banter is refreshing and a hoot.(I’m a lady, and I don’t get the misogynist comment from reviewer, Michele F.) I find his delivery of facts to be one hundred and ten percent professional. My eyes have never had better care and he signs one mean DMV form for certifying my vision. If you happen to not have brown eyes, his rant-y advice on preventing macular degeneration can’t be beat.

If you are looking for an opthamologist in a convenient location with a very comfortable office and a helpful receptionist, this is the place to go. However, if you don’t want a doctor who is an arrogant, sadistic misogynist, take your eyes elsewhere. I was riding my bike and got something in my eye. I rubbed it and it seemed OK but later it started watering and was very red. I was able to get an appointment with Lieberman for the next day, by then my eye was half shut, it hurt a lot, and my vision was very blurry. Lieberman looked into it with a light for a moment, pushed his stool back from me, folded his arms across his chest and looked down at the floor. He didn’t say a word and I started to panic so I asked him what was wrong with my eye. He said«Well, I don’t know how to tell you this» and stopped. Then I was totally scared and asked him if my eye was damaged and I would lose sight. He looked up, gave a little smile, and told me the cornea was scratched, he would give me some eyedrops, I should keep my eye covered for a few days and it would be fine. I called my primary care doctor who had recommended him and told her assistant what happened and she said that other women had told her similar stories but not any men. My husband had used him a couple of times and never had a problem but will not be going there again either.
