This review is more about the atmosphere than the convenience or selection/offerings of this business. Honestly, it’s a small shop with sometimes low inventory but they’ve always got exactly what I come in here for. I go to Gloria’s roti shop across the street and score my favorite roti and then I come over to this spot to pick up sweet plantain chips from a brand that I only seem to find in this bodega that I absolutely love. Then I also pick up a beverage, usually a refreshing thot juice(Bud Light Lime-a-Rita options)(they have each different flavor selection) or a ginger beer to keep my Caribbean experience thorough. These staple items are always well stocked and in an easy location to find. The atmosphere of this place is what gives it 4 stars. The owner(I suppose he is) is a friendly genuine guy. He’s the type that gives you back your penny when you buy a 99cent bag of chips even though you have no practical use for; «it’s your penny, you should have it» is his standard demeanor. Additionally, the guys in the back who are always drinking a beer and having a laugh are always cool and inviting. I don’t know if they work there, you don’t know if they work there, but they’re always there and they’re always having a good time and this place is always treat to walk into. It’s a community within a community, within a tiny bodega.
