Brigette has been a pioneer of 5th Avenue since I moved to Park Slope 16+ years ago. It began with the brilliant, Lulu’s Cuts and Toys (great kids cuts, patient stylists & well-​curated toys.) When she added Lulu’s Then and Now I was elated. As a mother of three, it’s been a savior for consigning my gently used children’s clothes and shopping for far from conservative or dare I say, hip, kids clothes. I love babies that wear black. Without all things Lulu and fearless owner Brigette I never would have discovered that fact.

After my disappointing experience at LuLu’s, the store manager reached out to me to find out exactly what happened. Because I live close by, I decided to go talk to the manager or owner myself. Luckily, Bridgette (owner of Lulu’s) was working that day and she graciously figured out what happened to my drop off and why I was seeing clothes that weren’t «bought» in the store. She then compensated me for a mix up that happened with an employee that was training on my drop off day. Long story short, my opinion of Lulu’s Then and Now isn’t that of «pretentious and shady». Bridgette runs her business ethically and honestly. I only wish that her employees would have been more careful that day.

Having recently added a second daughter and a new comer to Park Slope I was very excited to find this little gem. Yes they are a little more expensive than other consignment stores I’ve been to but 1) this is New York, everything is more expensive here. 2) the Brands are high end. They carry many international brands and they appear to have high standards for what they accept.
They employees have always been polite and helpful to me.

Don’t try sell there, total waste of time. They accepted 6 expensive, high end, like new items I brought in and got a total of 5% of original cost. I could have sold any one of these for more on e-​bay. Simply not worth the time or effort to donate — um, I mean sell — to this place.
