THEWORSTPLACEEVER! The owner is RUDE and a NASTYRACIST. I dropped off a pair of boots, paid the deposit, and received a ticket stub. Although I found it strange that fixing the heels on a pair of boots cost $ 20, I paid anyways because i was excited to have my boots fixed. Upon pickup I noticed he used some sort of glue that ruined the leather! Instead of apologizing he made it seem like I was in the wrong. He told me not to come back to his store. I wish there was a 0 star because this place don’t even deserve 1 star! STAYAWAY!!! spend your money elsewhere.

If you are old enough(and unfortunately or fortunately I am…) to remember, New York City used to be filled with mom & pop stores that could fix anything. Well there is still one of those places on Foster Avenue in Brooklyn run by a very nice Russian man who takes time off from fixing shoes to fix small appliances and whatever else you bring him. The store is one of those small stores wth more odds and ends than you think could fit inside a store and bikes and vacuum cleaners parked outside the front door. You walk in and wonder how this guy knows where things are, but he does! After hearing from the owner of House Of Fashion how he had fixed her sewing machine after another place had not, I brought in a sewing machine from our fashion design after school class where I work. Our fashion design instructor can usually fix what goes wrong but this time she was stumped. He fixed the machine and only charged $ 40 which today is what many other places charge just to look at a machine. So next time something is not working, have the man at Yakhils Shoe Repair take a look and you might not have to buy a new one after all!

Dropped an old pair of boots and my boyfriend’s boots(as a surprise to him) off at master shoemaker. I had to put down a deposit, which wasn’t a set dollar amount — just whatever I could give at the time — and picked them up the following day. I’ve been wearing the boots for the past 2 months or so and they are still holding up. I must admit I was a little nervous if my boyfriend’s shoes would hold up and even expressed that to him when I picked them up because it didn’t feel 100% sturdy. The flap at the back of the shoe had come off and felt glued on? The shoe maker promised that it wouldn’t budge so long as my boyfriend didn’t tug too hard at the shoe when putting it up(he should have been unlacing the shoe instead of sticking his feet in them in the first place) and so far so good, albeit my bf wears his boots a lot less often than I wear my repaired boots. The shoemaker replaced the wood that was on the bottom of my boyfriend’s shoes with rubber and said it would be better. My boyfriend didn’t seem to mind(although it did change up the overall look of the shoe since the sole is now black instead of light brown). You could still see the crack in my heel from where he fused the two parts, but again it works alright. Being that I am not all that familiar with shoe repair I’m not even sure if they can make it look completely seamless.
