I eat food from here all of the time. The food is great(except for an occasional mishap with the cabbage). I would have given McBeans 5 stars but the servers all have bad attitudes and move excruciating slow even though they appear to be young. Hello! Did the owner not see that Fisherman’s cove has expanded just around the corner and gives better service and the same type of food? A little courteousy and better service would go a long way.

This used to be my spot for many years. Their prices are great at 5 dollars for a decent size container of food. I would usually just get their jerk chicken with the rice and peas or the lo mein . Their rice needs some work. They use a long grain rice and the taste just always seems off even when you bathe it in oxtail gravy. I think if they used a smaller grain and took out the coconut milk or whatever is their special ingredient in the rice it’ll be a lot better. As for their jerk, it’s pretty average. They are better than fisherman’s cove jerk chicken in my opinion and other places nearby. Their chicken can be abit more moist and spicy for my liking as it definitely dries up on the grill. It also seems like they could save time per order by placing the sauces it in the seating area for everyone to serve themselves. Many times my chicken has had too much of one sauce over the other as I like a mixture of the bbq and jerk sauces on. my chicken. Overall not a shabby spot for a cheap meal.

This place has definitely improved, especially with the customer service. Now I am greeted with a smile and the servers seem happier. So for that and due to how delicious their food is along with their affordable prices I will up those stars, I DO wish they’d buy a bigger space because sometimes the line is out the door and that is NOT ok when you are craving their food.

Family dinner here at least once a week definitely the best peas and rice in Brooklyn. The jerk chicken and stew chicken is a must have. I find the staff attitude to be curt sometimes but the food quality overall is a 5 star. Please do visit if you’re in the neighborhood.

Best Stew Chicken and amazing Curry Goat. The services sucks. But I’ll still eat there over and over again. Totally Recommended.

I eat from here about once a week and enjoy it all the time, I love their rice and peas, one of the best tasting. Great jerk chicken, curry goat, oxtail, and stew chicken. The girls serving the food are always friendly. If you looking for good Caribbean food takeout in the junction, this is a staple point.

Their stew chicken is AMAZING! I have been a big fan of it for about three years, and it still keeps the quality in taste. The restaurant is located near Brooklyn College, and I used to visit there often when I lived around the area. I moved out a little far away from there, meaning I do not visit the restaurant often nowadays, but still, I am still a Brooklyn College student, and would like to visit them when I urge for their Stew Chicken!

The food here was blah to me. I had the stew chicken, rice and peas and veggies. Oh and let me not forget the jerk chicken which saved the day. However, not enough for me to want to frequent this place. The service is ok but could definitely be improved and streamline to be more efficient. Nothing really wowed me at this place. I just felt like it satisfied my hunger but left me wanting for something tasty. On the plus side the portions sizes at this place were large. So if you drop by you can get two meals in one.

Used to love this place but as time goes on the quality and customer service keeps going downhill. Sad, because I really liked them and wanted to continue to show support but they make it difficult to do so.

If you want curry goat in brooklyn GOTOMCBEANS!!! Seriously the best. I’ve also had their oxtail which is orgasmic as well. Their rice and peas are perfect. Cash or credit too. I go to brooklyn college which is ½ a block away and go here for lunch every other day. Clean and small. Nice staff. Overall amazing caribbean food!

Best jerk chicken I’ve had in the neighborhood. The line at fisherman’s cove is always out the door, but I’ve never had to wait at Mc Beans and I think their food is better. The chicken is always moist, the cabbage side is so flavorful that I can’t stop eating it. I try to limit myself to going once a week, but sometimes I can’t resist coming back sooner.

The jerk chicken is as good as it looks, delivering smoky, spicy awesomeness. I’d rank Mc Beans highly in the extremely competitive Brooklyn jerk chicken sector. What places it right at the top of the pack is that the side orders improbably demand attention too. The steamed vegetables have some secret ingredients, possibly some kind of licorice-type flavor.

Best damn curry goat in Brooklyn hands down. I’ve never tried anything else but there are regular customers that order their«usuals» me being one of them. The nice lady behind the counter is very patient and helpful, the food is always hot and fresh(cold drinks available… try the pineapple orange ginger), restaurant is always spotless. There are seats available but very limited and people tend to take the food to go anyway. Did I mention the staff is amazingly nice? This definitely adds to the overall experience of this amazing place with the reasonably priced food. *cash and credit*
