Really poor service and really mediocre food. Food lacked flavor, and service was not up to snuff. Felt over priced and a little pretentious. Would not want to go there again.

This restaurant is the poor man’s version of every Ottolenghi recipe come to life. There’s some fairly good Mediterranean/Middle Eastern fare and you leave feeling fresh and healthful but each dish is missing a bend and snap. The dishes are fairly straightforward, with no surprises here. We started with three mezze of burnt eggplant, cauliflower and zucchini cakes. All three were decent, the cauliflower the best of the three. The zucchini cakes were flavorful and moist but tiny and without any great crust. The eggplant was fine, but compared to any of the fantastic eggplant recipes from Jerusalem, Plenty, or Plenty More, pretty lackluster. My fiancé got the special that night which was a Chilean sea bass over celery root purée. The fish was well cooked in that it is physically impossible to badly cook Chilean sea bass. You could throw it on high heat for hours and it still wouldn’t dry out; the celery root purée was silky and celery-y. I had the shrimp couscous with came with a nice selection of vegetables but I thought the shrimp were overcooked and the the stew was not as flavorful as I would have liked. I love eating out, and sometimes do it out of sheer laziness but mostly because I like to eat things that are better than what I make at home. Do yourself a favor and google a Ottolenghi recipe instead; results will be better than what you get here.

Made a stop here late night with my work wife after a piña colada binge in the city. We had already eaten and just came to hang out. We sat at the bar and had some Prosecco and desserts. The atmosphere is very calm and chill and the music is great, they play smooth jazz. The staff was attentive and friendly. I would definetly come back and try more food.

Great brunch selection. Came on President’s Day and it was packed. However, not too long of a wait. Was seated by the bar, but ample space to eat at the bar without having to be bumping elbows with those around you. Great drinks menu/specials as well. Had the lamb shawarma while my boyfriend ordered steak and eggs. We were both happy with our food and will most definitely come back. Love the décor as well(Side note: if you’re parking on the meter, be very careful and feed the meter on time. Got a $ 35 ticket for going just a few minutes over…)

I love love love this place! I go there all the time — sometimes twice a week. I always go for the happy as the food is just amazing. Mezes to die for: Shrimp Meatballs Cauliflower Sausages Eggplant Best salad ever — Mediterranean. Staff is super nice.

8.5÷10. Very very good. Norwegian eggs — Smoked Salomon with poached eggs and hollandaise. Salmon was good. Eggs were cooked perfectly. Hollandaise was good but needed more body and zing — excellent quality though. Staff were friendly and attentive.

I was pretty skeptical since this isn’t the usual brunch place I migrate to, but I have to say I was so impressed. The bureka breakfast was amazing and I was so satisfied. The flavors of the cheese, oil, Israeli salad, and the bureka all complimented each other so nicely. I was pleasantly surprised and left wanting more of the creamy, flaky, and decadent bureka! Defiantly a win in my book as far as brunch in park slope!

This is an excellent restaurant, the décor is a little dark at night but it is unique, I’ve had the cous cous which is excellent but my favorite is the chicken shwarmma which is just filled with flavor, I’ve also had the roasted cauliflower with some sauce on it which was great as well, I’ve been back multiple times and love to bring people here to try it

Really good. My mom’s Bronzino was definitely the best dish, but my lamb shawarma was also great. The goat cheese crostini was also a standout. Our server, Rebecca, was super friendly and helpful, she recommended the cauliflower to us an appetizer and it was a good choice. Least favorite dish was probably the baklava and the cigar roll ups. The baklava seemed a little bit old, maybe? Was not flaky at all and really tough in the middle. Overall, great food and service and really relaxed atmosphere, dimly lit and not too loud.

Amazing atmosphere and great service. The food was outstanding and I would recommend this place for a nice dinner for 2 or a for a small group of friends for drinks at the bar. Overall I will be here again for the hummus and couscous!!!

Ate here for dinner on a weeknight and loved it. I ordered the soup of the day which was a creamy fennel soup garnished with a generous portion of smoked salmon. It was absolutely delicious. Not knowing the size of the soup, I ordered one of the small plates, the goat cheese crostini, which was also delicious. The other members of my party enjoyed the chicken and lamb schwarma. We all loved our meals and the staff was very attentive. I’d definitely return for dinner again, and would love to try brunch there too!

(This review is for their Saturday Brunch) For an 11:30AM meet up with friends, the place was about 85% packed; by noon there was a line forming out the door. Miriam does not take reservations for Brunch, it’s on first come first serve basis, but get there by 11AM and you’re golden. The space is cozy with tight tables in a few spots(get cozy with your neighbor!), the ambiance is dim and relaxing, and the energy’s very chill. There’s a bar you can sit and dine at if you roll in solo, and the table sections can accommodate larger party sizes. Tip — Order the columb coffee; it’s $ 2 for a cup and has bottomless refills and is soo delicious. Did I mention free refills? The service was good overall, our food came out very quickly, but fast-forward to the end of our meal — the table crew had this passive-aggressive«hurry up and get out» technique of coming to the table every 3 seconds once the check came and pretty much tried to clear the entire table while we were still sitting at it, drinking coffee; if you desperately need the table(as it seemed), fine, please ask; but the whole notion of bus boys snatching every dish possible once the fork went down, and the waitress staring from the side of her eye in the corner waiting for the check grab was a bit annoying and DEFINITELY didn’t inspire us get up faster(quite the opposite actually)… big time turn-off. The food: I ordered the Norwegian eggs(Eggs Norwegian), and it comes with a hearty platter of home fries and a robust dark green salad(all egg dishes come with this, plus your choice of bread). I value the bang for my buck, especially when it comes to serving portions(more so when I’m hungry), and I have to say you get a lot for what you pay for — and a little more in my opinion — at a $ 15 value. Everything was cooked well, and the presentation on their beautiful dishware was lovely. Everyone at my table seemed happy with their food, and we could barely finish it all! The service: The host was great. knew I had arrived early and was waiting for friends, and he sat us right away once everyone arrived(party of 3); the owner(or one of the owners) was very kind and chatty, and offered me an iced coffee on the house because they made it by mistake and he didn’t want it going to waste… he also helped my friend and I carry our things to our section once our table was ready; the waitress was blah. I didn’t sense the«warm welcome»(or warm ANYTHING from her really) upon arrival, and I got the feeling that we were taking too long to order(she seemed irritated having to come back one extra time): Her line of «Do you know what you want yet???», instead of «Are you ready you order?» rubbed me a certain way, both in tone and attitude. Maybe she was having a bad morning or was somewhat new, but either way, I wasn’t thrilled by her customer service approach on this visit — my first — and that unfortunately garnished the Miriam with a 4 star rating. Would I go back again? Absolutely! Good food, nice corner spot on 5th Ave, great area in Park Slope to wander around afterward. I just may opt to get there earlier next time to avoid the stressful dining experience that came with the 12 o clock rush.

Light airy restaurant. Service was fine. The falafels are really good, very crispy and really delicious with the hummus. We also had the chicken shawarma which neither of us were very impressed with. It’s a personal preference and we weren’t overly keen. This place is OK. It’s different than your usual brunch place and for that reason I’d say go for it and try it out.

Mmmmmmmohmygod I’m in love with this spot now. The happy hour is mean. 2 for 1 drinks and half off appetizers which are the damn . We had like 9 – 10 appetizers. If ur in BK and love Mediterranean food, come here.

First thing first, I considered docking a point because this place is by the Park Slope hot spot when it comes to brunching and getting a table here is just short of hopeless. I’m dramatizing. Come before 11am and you’ll fine. But the food is amazing: — Burekas — it’s actually an awesome dish because you still get eggs and the burekas themselves are the perfect level of flakiness. — Smoked Salmon Omelette — I’m not always into omelettes as I prefer my eggs runny but the flavors in this dish made me reassess my strong stance. The salmon tasted … fresh … well as fresh as smoked salmon can taste like. And the omelette was slight juicy which was awesome! Note that the labneh cheese(to me) has the taste and consistency of whole fat greek yogurt. I love it but just in case you’re not sure what you’re in for.

Yum! The Mediterranean crispy dough truly does live up to its reputation. For $ 15 the brunch served a huge piece of crispy with just a touch of sweetness flat fried dough with two eggs(I ordered scrambled) and all you can drink coffee. I also ordered a side of bureka(puff pastry stuffed with feta and olives) for $ 5 because I read such great things about them. The brunch here did not disappointment. The food was delicious. The service was lovely. Our waitress was so friendly. She saw how much my husband loved harissa, so she brought over a couple small containers for us to take home. We ate early at 10:15 and the restaurant was ¾s full and bustling. By the time we left 45 mins later, the place was full and people were shivering outside waiting to get in.

My favorite place for brunch, hands down. The first time I came there was no wait at all. I got the cucumber cocktail and the Norwegian Eggs, both were amazing. The eggs came with fresh salad and potatoes; the eggs were organic and the nova lox salmon was great. I went back about two weeks ago and got the Norwegian eggs again. I also ordered the chocolate hazelnut drink which was basically hot cocoa that tasted like Nutella. Couldn’t ask for anything better, right? The wait was about 15 minutes the second time I went and I had to wait outside(there was no room inside)…but this just goes to show how great this place is! Lots of people waiting for a great brunch. I can’t wait to go back — I know I need to try something new!

We were told the wait would be about 25 minutes for Saturday brunch, so the bf decided to go for a walk. About 5 minutes later, we were called! Unfortunately, we couldn’t be seated without our whole party. So we did actually end up waiting about 30 minutes for our turn again. Moral of the story: don’t go for a walk! We ordered a pitcher of white sangria for the table. It was a little weak on the alkey. Tasted more like juice than anything else. I ordered the Norwegian eggs, and they were delicious! It came with a ton of potatoes which were nicely seasoned and a salad. The bf got the Croque Madame which was okay, but he’s had better. And the friend got the steak and eggs which was definitely a lot of food. She couldn’t finish it all, although it was good. Attentive service. I’d love to try their Israeli breakfast next time.

BRUNCH10am-4pm —– I will tell you what you must order ;) Thank you for a non-traditional brunch(no pancakes, no toasts, no waffles). This place is a great spot for brunch(especially because most brunch places stop at 3pm, Miriam has the great israeli menu for 10am-4pm) and everything is excellent and fresh. -*MUST* I had the BUREKAS $ 15 and it was so delicious. The feta and olives stuffed freshly baked bread was amazing, super soft and slightly flaky. I chose sunny side up eggs, and the tahini(sesame) sauce(greenish) was so good. I truly loved this dish. The labneh cheese, was almost like an extra thick greek yogurt. It was good, though doused in olive oil and too rich in itself. Israel salad(tomatoes, cucumbers diced, surprisingly nicely dressed) good. GREAT -*MUST-ISH* My friend had the Isreali Breakfast which was excellent too, she wouldn’t’ stop raving about the potatoes! which is weird, but they were truly nicely pan fried. She wanted scrambled eggs, same sides $ 15. GOOD –My friend #2 had the Herbed Eggs $ 15 but these were just okay. I prefer any of the two above dishes. MEH *MUST* Side of falafel and hummus, very crunchy and tasty, the hummus clearly homemade, what a treat! These are a must, trust me. Watch my video and you’ll understand. GREAT +++ Coffee complimentary with brunch, and it was good. I definitely would recommend it for brunch. I came here for dinner 7 years ago and it wasn’t as memorable as it was today. Parking, street, not too bad on a Autumn Sunday 3:15pm. Very nice service and attention.

Very delicious and tender chicken shwarma. They also have very large platters with flavorful french fries. I think this place is a bit pricey for what it is. However, it is great to go with parents or any family member. They also have different menu options for Jewish holidays and are open during them, as well. On the down side, it would be nice if some of the waitresses knew what the original names of the dishes were instead of the«fried dough». The waitress looked at me with three heads when I wanted to know where it originated from or what its original name is.

Holy mother freakin burekas!!! Never in my life have I tasted something so divine! I ordered myself the Bureka breakfast. With breakfast, you can get free coffee! YAY! The food took a quite a while to come out, which is why it’s not 5 stars. When my dish came out, I was a little sad that the Bureka was so small. I felt my heart drop a little. But when I bit into that tiny little pastry, I didn’t care. It was just sooo flippin delicious! It had a nice, soft and doughy consistency and is stuffed with feta and olives. I ordered my eggs overeasy. I think the eggs they buy are smaller than what I’m use to. The labneh cheese and Israeli salad were good too. But honestly, the burekas stole the show. I would come back here JUST to get the burekas and thats it.

I can see why this place gets so popular for brunch. By some miracle, we showed up at 1, which is usually peak brunch hour, and managed to get a table without a wait. It was, however, the last table available so I wouldn’t try doing that again. I had a hard time deciding what to order from a menu where everything sounded good. Finally went with the Israeli Breakfast(two eggs(any style) with Labneh cheese, home fries, Israeli salad & pita), I figured I couldn’t go wrong with a classic. My friend got the Shakshuka. The portions are quite huge, so make sure you’re hungry. While the eggs(I got them over easy) were fine, it was the sides that made the dish. The salad was so crisp and refreshing, and the yogurt was cool and creamy. Loved the home fries, which was seasoned and fried perfectly. I loved feeling like I was eating a clean, healthy breakfast(well if you ignore the eggs). My friend enjoyed hers as well, although they took forever bringing out more pita for her. Definitely a great place and a nice change from the usual brunch places. Would go back to try out more dishes.
