Modern Nails

First timer in here last week and I have to say it’s one of the best shellac jobs I’ve ever had. I’m not too fancy. I don’t care for the ambiance or the extra this and that. I’m all about making sure my nails are done right! I go for one color, done well and that is exactly what I got. I’ve been living in NY for years and I’ve had my fair share of trying new nail salons over the years and this has to be one of the best.
I had a young guy that was very meticulous and offered great service. My bike was parked out front and I was worried but he checked up on it periodically.
Price wise, not bad at all! Average pricing maybe a little less.

I wrote review for wrong salon

So I started going here just to get pedicures for about 3 months. I have no complaints about their pedis. Never had a bad experience. Now after about 3 months, I decided to do my nails here. My first bad experience was when I tipped the lady doing my nails (which I believe is the owner of the place). I got a regular full tip set which is $ 20, I tipped her $ 10 which is a pretty good tip for a job that was rushed. She had the audacity to look at my tip on the receipt and then start speaking in Chinese. That made me feel very uncomfortable and upset. Second experience was Friday 1÷30÷15, I was getting a filling and everything was rushed yet again. I wanted a simple French tip and the man doing my nails seemed annoyed. My nails were not what I expected and I was very unhappy with the service. I will never step foot in this place again, not even for a pedicure. I’m paying for a service and I expect them to deliver with greatness!!! They are totally unprofessional and rude, whether I understand them or not!

DONT GO HERE!!! I went there showed to get my nails done for my birthday. Worst decision I made that day! I showed them the picture on how I wanted my nails done. So after I paid they gonna tell me oh no they can’t do those design I wanted they didn’t know how to do. I don’t know why they name is modern nails! They are lairs! The manger got his attitude because I was mad that they lied for money! Money hungry for business! They suck at doing nails. They can’t even polish & they pedicure is 3 mins !! Your feet still be rough!

This is the only place I feel comfortable and relaxed to get my hair waxed. Customer service is friendly. Nice massage chairs while you get your pedicure. My son loved getting a pedicure here. Which I find it to be the best of the best because is relaxing and only $ 13.00.

I popped in to Modern Nail to kill some time before a hair appointment in the area. Overall I wish I could 3.5 stars because it was really good, just not amazing… which is hard to achieve when its priced so well!
I had to wait quite a while and only had time for a pedicure. I was surprised by the number of male beauticians/​technicians (?) and wondered what the result would be like but they were busy so thats always a good sign and I was happy with colours to choose from — nice bright ones. Overall they were a little rough but nothing to be concerned about and the results was great! And for only $ 14!

I just went to Modern Nail today and they are so friendly and pleasant! The service was above and beyond everything that I expected. I just wanted a simple pedicure, but they also massaged my feet and placed me in a massaging chair, for no extra cost. Nothing was rushed and everything was very clean.
Everyone who came in commented that they had upgraded all of their equipment and gotten new massage chairs — this is a good sign! I love when businesses invest in their own space to make customers comfortable.
They also redid a few of my toes when he noticed a few were messed up (my own fault, I was kicking my foot while reading my book). They care about the end result and want to do the best job possible. I’m going to stick with this nail salon, I love great service!

never — i repeat — never go into this place. they are not just unprofessional and unqualified, they are dangerous.
i know people personally that have been hurt and injured as a result of their inexperience.
you go there at your own risk.
