We booked Modern Sound DJs for our ~130 person wedding and we couldn’t be happier. They set the mood for our wedding and made all the important announcements throughout the night. Our guests raved about the great songs and how they wanted to keep partying even after it was over. They truly went above and beyond our expectations.
From the start, they were extremely professional and very quick to respond. We had an introductory call to walk through their services and pricing. Once we booked them, they were always available for questions. They also gave us a shared google doc for us to fill out with important timeline details, songs we want for each event of the night and a do not play list (which they followed flawlessly). We also had a final call the week before the wedding to review. During the night of the wedding, we didn’t have to direct them at all and they were very enthusiastic in getting the party started. Their equipment (sound system, mood lights, plus they gave us a free photo blast service to capture candid shots of the night) were also top notch.

Modern Sound Deejays, Where do I begin! First things first, there is not one bad thing I can say about Modern sounds, seriously! From the very beginning they have been the best. I was looking for a last minute dj and I had googled local djs and I ran into Modern sounds. The first thing that caught my eye was their prices and packages which looked amazing! I like how upfront that was, I did not have to contact and have someone lure me into packages or sell me their top packages it was straightforward. I am a verrrrrry picky and anal person, so as many people do I looked at their reviews. I was pretty happy and amazed with their reviews but I still looked around to compare. From the first email of contact they were so professional it all seemed too good to be true. I told Modern Sounds exactly what I wanted and they helped and recommended me which choice was best. They never tried to sell me on anything extra. They just wanted what was best for my occasion and to make me happy. They made me feel so comfortable, relaxed and excited. Modern sounds went above and beyond to make me happy and keep in touch throughout the entire planning. They made me feel like a princess and they were here to serve me. Speaking with Modern sounds was so professional and comfortable at the same time, they really felt like family. Even with the event being last minute I was surprised how they accommodated me in every way possible to make everything happen and this was a very big plus. Not pushy at all, they are just happy to make my day most memorable. Since I was not recommend or referred to them I was a bit scared. But like I said they made me feel so calm that everything will be fine. I did not have time to send them any «do not play» or must play”, but when the big day came, they were very punctual, professional, just perfect! I was blown away. They made this Engagement party a hit! They played a mix of everything which is what I wanted to please everyone and boy was my party pleased. No one wanted to sit back down! Everyone was up dancing the night away! So many of my family and friends were so happy and please I just kept getting compliments about them. «the music was amazing»,” the music was perfect”, «they were so on point», «they made everything come together», «I can’t believe how they made every single person happy», «I did not want to sit down», «I was eager to see what song they would play next» and it goes on and on. They made the party so much fun; everything was so perfect, from cocktail hour, pasta, dinner to the party itself. I have such a mix of family and friends and they hit every point possible. Modern sounds really pleased my party and I cannot thank them enough! Being picky and anal, I am so happy that I choose them. They were so amazing from beginning to end. And I’m happy to say we will see them in Mexico one year from now! If you have to choose a DJ for your event you will not be disappointed in any way! Reliable, loyal, respectful, very accommodating and the sweetest professional DJs’ I have seen.
P. s. I can’t forget, a must have is the Gobo! I’m so happy to have had this logo projected out into the walls. Everyone was talking about this as well. It was a great added touch! Again their packages are great who gives one free extra hour or one extra service? Modern Sound Deejays does that’s who! Modern Sound Deejays did a fantastic job at our wedding. They were responsive, professional, open-​minded, and helpful. They did a great job of both preparing in advance by learning about us and what our vision was, and also in adjusting the music in the moment by reading our guests. They also provided up lighting, which helped set a beautiful ambiance in our reception room, and kept the flow of the wedding evening moving seamlessly. We had so much fun at our wedding, and we are so happy we selected MSD for our big day!

Modern Sound Deejays were amazing for my wedding. I booked them through Living Social. My wedding was on Columbus Day 2015.
We have been in contact with Eric from Modern Sound since we purchased the deal. We got an add-​on with our package and we went with the coverage for the ceremony. On top of this we even got strobe lights for the dance floor! (Unfortunately it was a daytime brunch wedding so no one could really see it).
Eric was very responsive to our questions and was very organized. We filled out a planner that they provided through Google docs. He even set up a teleconference to touch base before the wedding and was flexible when we had to reschedule.
On the day of they were right on time! Everything went perfect. They provided a mic for our Rabbi and got all of music requests right. They were able to set for our outdoor ceremony. Our MC announced everyone into the reception hall perfectly. During the reception everyone had a great time and complimented the music. We danced and had the best time ever. If you want people who are down-​to-​earth, respectful, totally organized, and very fun, hire Modern Sound!

We booked Modern Sound Deejays for our wedding on Friday, August 21, 2015. From the start, Eric, Anthony and Joseph were very well organized, professional and exceedingly helpful. Despite getting married himself and going on his honeymoon, our point of contact (Eric) was accessible at all times (Congrats again, Eric!). We started the process with a vague idea of what we were looking for, but with their assistance, everything came together beautifully; TVs, uplighting, personlized GOBO, they definitely know what they’re doing and it was a pleasure working with them. After the wedding, we got a lot of unsolicited positive feedback from our guests about the music — they knew exactly the vibe we were going for even though we only made a few suggestions on our «must play» and «must not play» list. We would highly recommend booking these guys, they were just so easy to work with.

Modern Sound Deejays really did a tremendous job at our Wedding. Eric and Jonathon are extremely professional. It started with the video call we did in the beginning so they could introduce themselves to my wife and I. During the call they addressed all of our concerns and need. After that call, they were responsive via email usually replying within 24 hours. The Planner document they distribute and ask you to fill out is very useful so they know all the details for your wedding and all of our requests. The day of the wedding they pulled off audio for our outdoor ceremony (which included live music) and happy hour quite flawlessly. The day of the wedding they kept checking in with my wife and I to adapt to the wedding schedule since it changed slightly as the night progressed. Most importantly, the music was everything we wanted. They used their music selection wisely to get people dancing and keep them dancing. Many of the guests commented on «how great» the music was. Additionally, they kept it at a decibel level where people were still able to converse if they chose not to dance (although most chose to dance) They contiuned to be very attentive as the night moved on and even squeezed in a little more dancing at the end because everyone was having such a good time. Modern Sound Deejays were one of the many factors that helped make this night the best in my and my wife’s life. I loved the service!

I loved the fact that they were all professional. The emcee did what was expected of him. My daughter requested no overly talking and he did an excellent job honoring her request. His announcements were on point and on time at all times. The photoblast photography/​photographer is a nice addition for this company. I LOVED the photoblast– it is 95% random pictures. However, that little 5% of non-​random pictures were very important especially to me because my regular photographer never took 1 picture of my mother and the Modern Sound Deejays photoblast photographer captured still photos of my mom a few times (thank goodness) because we were all very angry. Like how the hell does the main photographer forget one of the main family members of the party right? I was beyond pissed. The most important people that should ALWAYS be included in sweet 16 pictures are the birthday girl/​her court, birthday girls grandparents from BOTH sides, her siblings if any, and her parents. Anyways, having the photoblast honestly makes it a better choice choosing to use this company as you can see. I think emailing the pictures to the clients would be a great idea and an added bonus. If I can remember correctly all three were professionally dressed. They were on time and setup was quick. Everything was still on or before schedule. I’m glad the DJ listened to my daughter’s song requests only. It could get quite annoying when you have so many people making song requests. If you book this company and you have questions you can call or email them and within 24 hours someone will get back to you. Modern Sound DeeJays is a trustworthy company to work with. My daughter had a blast and that’s what’s more important. Hopefully, we will see them in April of 2016 for my other daughter’s party– her Quinceañera with150 guest (triple the amount of this last party) ugh. Thank you guys you were AWESOME.

I called Jonathan in a moment of despair haha! There were 5 days left before the wedding and we decided we would like to have a DJ. He did EVERYTHING he could to accommodate us. He had a previous commitment and for an entire day he tried to manage that to see if he could DJ us too. He eventually said he could not change the schedule, but again, he did EVERYTHING to find us another DJ. He was very open and told us he only wants to recommend good DJs, so he had to search longer. He also did everything possible to accommodate our budget constraints. After a day of search, he found me a DJ, an amazing DJ that came with his MC and arranged the whole restaurant with lights. The music was amazing, the atmosphere was great and my guests are still sending me messages telling me how much fun they had and how great the music was.
I recommend Jonathan and I will personally keep his contact for the future, for any events!
