Big fan of this place. Reasonable prices, substantial portions, interesting sandwiches. Only time I ever leave disappointed is when I get to the storefront to find it unexpectedly closed. According to the website, this(July 11⁄12) is the last weekend that it will be closed. Not really any seating inside. Never had to wait more than a minute to order.

Back in England, there was a car called the«Morris Minor.» In this case, that would be someone that is under 16 and comes to this restaurant to try a Grilled Cheese. Hopefully they would be more impressed than I was. What to get: Any of their famous sandwiches. I got the«Classic» Grilled Cheese for under 6. What else: Morris less. Oh wait, no. Less is more. I had high hopes for Morris’ Grilled Cheese Sandwich. I’d been trying to run into their truck for a long time, to no avail. I’d braved the traffic on Manhattan Island at weekday lunch times, sat around for what seemed like hours, so many times, and never had I made it there. Partly because he closes his truck early, it seems like, every time I decide to go. When he opened this Brooklyn storefront I thought I was in luck. I was both delighted and excited. I went there as soon as I could — within the first few weeks of opening. The service was friendly. The space was poorly-marked but lovely on the inside. The menu board looked interesting(and very hipster, as did the employees). I ordered the famous Grilled Cheese that I’d missed out on so many times. The word that best describes this sandwich is «dry». The other word is «overdone.» It was a little dry, hard, and overdone for me. Once it cooled down, it became like a rock, so most of the sandwich was never eaten. What I did eat when it was hot, tasted good. I appreciate the venture and I appreciate the interesting product and the nice taste of the blended expensive cheeses on the fancy bread inside the sandwich. I didn’t appreciate how dry and overdone it was, nor how many times I sat in Manhattan traffic for nothing trying to get to the truck, which inevitably closes 30 mins before closing on any given day. Still, if you like Grilled Cheese sandwiches, or fancy sandwiches, come and give Morris a try. You may love it! And remember: morris less.

Cute clean shop. Friendly staff. And best of all a killer braised pork sandwich. The Big Trouble in Little China with slaw, mayo and hoisin. So good.

This place is way overrated. It keeps getting on best of the neighborhood lists, and I have to think it’s just that they know people… The menu is limited, and no sandwich(I’ve tried all but their grilled cheese) is great. Kept waiting for the long-promised, «coming soon» bubby that never came. Chicken sandwich is overly saucy, pork sandwich is overwhelmingly salty(and when you bite into a peppercorn, you wonder if you cracked a tooth, veggie sandwich is just not tasty, Italian tastes overwhelmingly of kale, and not the slivers of meat that you get that would be good if not used so sparsely. This is unpretentious food done pretentiously, not the other way around. The food comes quickly, but the staff is snooty. Just meh.

If you come here, one of the following will happen: a) You’ll have a great sandwich. b) You’ll have no sandwich. Either they’ll be out of ingredients, or they’ll be closed, and you’ll be left standing at the door thinking, ‘Are you kidding? They’re closed NOW?’(I’m sympathetic to the fact that they were closed a good chunk of May for renovations. But their normal hours are still ridiculously restrictive for anyone seeking food during the work week.) I want to like this place. But I feel like they spend too much energy creating a vibe(eg, next door’s «Test Kitchen»; give me a break) and not enough time making and selling sandwiches. I once asked the cashier whether they planned on expanding their hours. His response: «We should, but… we’re not.» I interpreted his words and tone as: «Our manager is doing this as a hobby and isn’t interested in creating a real business.» Too bad. They really know how to make good sandwiches.

This place can definitely make a sandwich! I recommend the European combo! It’s amazing but if you don’t like spicy than stay away. The only problem with this place is that it runs out of ingredients to make the sandwiches which I have a feeling they do a lot. Otherwise it definitely a great place to stop by for lunch or if you really don’t feel like making dinner.

Firstly, I would like to say that the sandwiches that we purchased were very good, the quality of the food excellent and they were made quickly. With that said, I was incredibly concerned with the customer service, especially being a first time customer from the neighborhood. When I walked into the sandwich shop I gave a friendly hello that was acknowledged by stony silence. Taken aback, I repeated the hello. Blank stare. To be brief, when the customer is the most cheerful person in the room, says hello multiple times and receives abject silence in return, it really makes you concerned about the changes afoot in this neighborhood. Thanks for helping the issue of gentrification in Crown Heights, Morris.

Pretty good, it’s a small selection. I got the chicken sandwich, Pollo Hombre? It was fair, probably would have benefited for some texture change or something. And I took it to go, the way they wrapped it up the sandwich was flopping around all over the place, I had to hold it together. But excited to go again and try other things. Nice staff. GREAT bread.

How are these sandwiches so good?! Really happy Morris came to the neighborhood. I just had The European on really good gluten free bread and it was amazing. I really like their grilled cheese sandwiches from their truck in midtown east, but they don’t really do them gluten free at the shop, as they have to take the cheese off pre-made regular bread and there are a lot of crumbs that stay on in the transfer. Everyone I’ve met working here has been friendly.

I had to stop mid sandwich to write this. The Pollos Hermanos sandwich is out of this world good. A+. It’s refreshing to get good food for a fair price.

Ho-ly smokes. The Mona. Focaccia bread, kale, beet purée, pickles, radish, egg, chipotle mayo. Perfect blend of spice and sweetness, great mix of textures. Really well thought out idea for a veggie sandwich. A bit steep at $ 8, but a generous portion. Will definitely be back. Only criticism is that menu is SUPER limited. Four or five sandwiches plus two grilled cheeses. Beyond that, some high end chips and sodas. I hope they add more by way of veggie sandwiches and side dishes. Extremely promising though. Update: sadly knocking off a star because of the new hours. Pretty much ensuring I will never be able to eat here again during the week…

Amazing sandwiches and bagels and some legit homemade sodas. These guys don’t mess around. Everything is real fresh and delicious and the prices are great. This quickly became my spot to grab a sandwich in the neighborhood and I’ve never come away disappointed. A sandwich here costs the same as at any of the delis on Franklin or Nostrand but you’re getting higher quality ingredients and way more exciting flavors. A welcome addition to the neighborhood.

It is pretty much my go-to sandwich shop whenever I’m working from home or in need of that perfect, delectable, succulent breakfast sandwich with bacon jam. If you’ve never had their wonderful bacon jam on an egg bagel, you are for sure missing out on life’s greatest wonders. Oh and did I mention that it’s only 5.50 for a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel sandwich? Perhaps giving it the BEC label is an understatement. It is. I apologize. It’s a hangover curer. It’s a miracle worker. It’s so perfect the way they shmear the bacon jam on the bagel, gently place the eggs(with melted delicious cheese) and close the top half of the bagel with SPK and hot sauce(optional). It’s heaven just watching them work. There’s so much more than just breakfast. Look for their Big Trouble in Little China and the Mona. That tomato bisque too. Oh man, that tomato bidque is so rich, creamy, and one of a kind. I need to go back for the rest. There’s no doubt that I’ll be back for more and more. Don’t leave us. Stay in Crown Heights please.

I will try it again because i love pork and I love hoisen but will ask for less of the white gingery stuff too overwhelming … The peppercorns were a tad annoying too… They still have kinks to work out, I will go back and try more and update my review $ 7.50

Reminding me of my fave Bergen Dean sandwich shop, Morris is an offshoot of Gladys restaurant around the corner. While some sandwiches are pre made like grilled cheese, I went with a veg number on focaccia which was good. what was mind-blowing was a spicy tomato bisque and to wash it all down a maple egg– cream. Frankly fab on Franklin!

I got the Pollo Hermanos, since I couldn’t decide on a sandwich and it seemed the most bang for your buck. Pretty decent buffalo chicken-y sandwich, well cooked pieces of chicken with spicy mayo, with some pickled celery. Bread was probably the best part. I didn’t appreciate the surprise blue cheese, they should definitely list it on the menu. Also got their homemade soda, thumbs up to that. While waiting on line, I watched a large European combo being made, and wondered how small the regular sized one is. So expect yuppie food truck prices and acceptable portion sizes.

These sandwiches are pretty good. They definitely just opened, which was evident as the guy making my sandwiches was getting trained on the spot as he made them. That kind of took away from the experience a little, as it led me to believe I could’ve just made the sandwich myself just as well, if not better, since I saw the guy doing the whole thing in the small space over the little counter. The small menu of just sandwiches has the standard checklist that any sandwich shop should have. We got a good sampling of some of the different types: — Pollos Hermanos($ 7) I picked this one more for the name than the actual ingredients, so I don’t really like blue cheese so much. It definitely has a strong hit of funk from that blue cheese. It’s also worth noting that this one is cold, and I was hoping for a hot sandwich. The bread was pretty good though, making this a pretty tasty option. — Big Trouble In Little China($ 7.50) This was really excellent, and the best one by far. It consists of really juicy braised pork with hoisin and pickled cabbage on a flatbread bun. The bun is almost like an arepa, only softer and not as flavorful. This is a great sandwich and worth coming here to try. — European Combo($ 5.50 for a small, $ 9 for a large) Their take on an Italian Combo was much thinner than a typical one. It also wasn’t quite as satisfying as a typical one. It was a little heavy on the mayo. They also have a vegetarian option of course, as well as a breakfast sandwich and a classic grilled cheese, which is what they started selling from their truck. I probably should’ve tried that one. There is literally nowhere to sit in here, nor even a place to stand to eat the sandwiches. They could probably fit some stools in here, which would help. For now though, you have to take your stuff to go. I might drive by in the future to pick up a grilled cheese, or maybe the breakfast sandwich.

Really tasty sandwiches. Franklin Avenue has really needed a sandwich shop like this… a step up from the delis that have been the only other option for lunchtime sandwiches. The«pollos hermanos» sandwich is great.
