I don’t like contractor. Frankly, I rather go to the dentist. But I wanted to redo my kitchen and bathroom and being 7 months pregnant, it was now or never. I kept asking friend and family for recommendations and not one person would recommend their contractor, no one had a good experience. So I came here to Unilocal,it’s almost never steered me wrong before :) and found multi-​construction. People though I was nuts hiring a contractor based on Unilocal reviews… Well…
Shafayet and his team came in and did a BEAUTIFUL job. They were top notch professionals, finished the job within the estimated time even though we had adjustments along the way. I appreciated that they didn’t dilly dally and take their time, The baby was coming and I couldn’t take that risk. Shafayet had specialists lined up to so they could come in and knock what what they were in charge of. Most of the workers were polite and professional.
It’s almost 2 years since he did the work and it still looks fresh and beautiful, I get complements all the time.
Above and beyond, I would recommend multi– construction for his workmanship, professionalism and most of all shafayet’s integrity.

Here’s the story. I purchased a 2-​family house in Brooklyn, NY… it was a new development. Once I moved into the house, the builder reneged on completing a punch-​list of escrow items. Moreover, the house turned out to have numerous other issues and was practically uninhabitable.
That’s when I started looking for a general contractor to complete the job. After meeting with several companies, I decided to go with my brother’s recommendation… Multi Construction Co. My brother is an expert researcher and conducted a level of due diligence that’s outside of my skillset.
The first weekend that Shafayet came to the property, he brought along a small army of painters, carpenters– you name it. He does not play around… he wants the job to be completed as quickly as the customer does. Even more impressive is his team’s workmanship. They are absolutely committed to doing the right thing, the first time around… no matter how time consuming it may be.
After witnessing a masterclass in efficiency and quality, I signed-​on for several other projects with Shafayet. MC Co. helped me address numerous defects including: leaky window, poor plumbing, issues with the façade, incorrectly hung doors, roof issues, etc. I’m a stickler for details, and Shafayet’s team did not disappoint.
If you’re in need of a general contractor and live in the NYC area, don’t waste your time elsewhere– give Multi Construction Co a call immediately. The cost is reasonable and the timing and professionalism is on a next level.

Shafayet did a fantastic job on our apartment. His team replaced our floors and floorboards, demo’d a wall, painted our entire apartment, gutted our kitchen and and installed a new one. They did all of the electrical, plumbing, tile work — everything. All of the people he works with were lovely — which is important because they are in your house everyday.
And they finished the project on (a tight!) schedule and on budget. Eventually, we want to renovate our bathroom and we will definitely call Shafayet to do the work. This was our first big renovation project and I felt we were in great hands.

Very impressed with Shafayet and his team. Prompt and helpful, and quality work. They sealed all of my windows, painted the back of the house, and did some concrete work. All quickly and quietly done to a very good standard. I will use them again.

He arrived promptly but looked irritated from the moment he got there. No idea why. Just seemed like he had no time for anyone and didn’t care to listen. Overall rude and unprofessional experience. He missed out on a couple very good business opportunities due to his behavior.

True to his words, Multicontruction Company did an amazing job. The quality and schedule were on the money. The carpenters, painters, plumbers electricians, all professional. Unfortunately, I have nothing to really review. Shafayet came to my house, we spent 45 minutes going over the multiple projects I had, he was very professional, courteous, etc. Said he would have an estimate to me the next day and… I never heard from him. I called and left messages. Not a peep. Ultimately a waste of my time which is not appreciated.

The crew were extremely accommodating and professional and they were willing to think outside the box to make sure I was completely satisfied with all of my requests. I would highly recommend A&L Construction for any of your construction needs!

I normally don’t write reviews unless I think that they will help someone. I had a really bad experience with a contractor in Manhattan a few years ago and was really wary of hiring one to do a gut renovation of my bathroom. I called and interviewed 5 different ones and finally chose Shafayet’s team because he was reasonably priced (not the lowest or the highest), didn’t try to push me to buy materials from him or tell me what to do (many male contractors tried to dictate to me — probably because I am a young female), and from the other Unilocal reviews (which one hopes are true). In this case, I am happy to say that they are all on point. He required very little guidance and I trusted his taste and style implicitly. I even added to the job by asking him to install a kitchen countertop and dishwasher as well. He had all the required paperwork required by my co-​op and sorted out most things with the super. Job took a little longer than anticipated but that was a series of mishaps that are independent of his work, but I liked the fact that he came back to finish those details when called, even after I had paid him in full. He was always professional and accessible which gave me confidence in his integrity. I am so glad a I found an honest contracting company that I would not hesitate doing business with again.

I met with Shafayet for an estimate on a full apt renovation. He had good ideas, he was super professional (at first meeting he was so serious, it was almost intimidating.) Best of all, he was honest. For the amount of work we needed, the estimate was more than fair.
Shafayet prepared our estimate within 24hrs. A few other contractors I met with took an average of three days, one guy needed two weeks. When I asked to update the scope of work, he responded, again, within 24hrs time. I found him to be very reliable, trustworthy, and my mother just adored him.
I would absolutely recommend this company to everyone that is looking for a full service contractor. You can count on these guys.

Too busy for you, don’t bother. Wont even pick up the phone always get voicemail. Made appointment for them to give me an estimate today and they never showed or called. I called and left message with machine as always and 6 hours later still nothing.

Had a great experience with Multi-​construction on my recent bathroom renovation. Shafayet was professional and always reachable via email, text, etc. which for me was huge. I am quite busy and need to trust that anyone I hire will do the job properly without any run around or extra supervision.
Price was very fair, clearly laid out before we started and there were no hidden costs.
Tile work was beautiful and they really worked with me on every detail. Installing special fixtures I picked out and purchased and specific grout color. As a professional designer I have an eye for detail and these guys were very understanding and patient. Would absolutely hire for my next project

They quoted me a very high price and were very unprofessional by phone. AVOID!

I hired Multi Construction to build my work office of 4000 sq ft. From an empty box, Shafayet and his team built 3 offices, an entrance area made from antique glass, gutted and remodeled 2 bathrooms, sound proofed all the offices with plywood, rewired electrical for the entire space, and repainted in 5 short weeks as promised. I was impressed with Shafayet’s honesty, hard work, and responsiveness to inquiries and work order changes. He was on site on most days, and made sure his crew was on schedule; even working most Saturdays to ensure my space was ready in time for my move-​in date. Because of the short timing between my leases, I had to start construction without an official contract, which could have been a big mistake. I count myself lucky to have found Shafayet and his team. Their pricing was very reasonable, and I would definitely use them again.

You might be reading these reviews here and thinking «these can’t be real reviews– everyone complains about their contractor.» I was a little skeptical too, but Shafayet and his team did an amazing job, they worked hard and quickly, they paid serious attention to detail and gave me good advice. We had our backyard redone with them and they ripped out all the old cement, completely redid our drainage system, put down new cement, did an amazing job on the paving stones and put up a beautiful fence and gate. You would not be able to recognize the old yard — the new one looks so great. Shafayet even called after the first rainstorm to check on me and fixed a potential problem after the job was done. I almost didn’t want to write this so they would be more likely to be available next time I need them, but they deserve all the praise I can offer.

Shafayet and his team delivered the job exactly as I had envisioned it. I don’t have a lot of experience with remodeling, so of course there were a few hiccups. Instead of acting impatient, Shafayet was very helpful and never pressured me or tried to deceive me. I felt that he was very honest and supportive. My kitchen remodel was finished on time and the quality of the work was fantastic. I highly recommend Multi Construction Co.

I had the worst experience with construction for my hair salon the East Village a few months ago, and our basement was not complete.
I searched for a construction company for our basement, and found these guys.
TRUST ME, they are always on time (which is RAAAAAARE here in NYC), and do excellent work. I even gave them a 100 dollar tip because they were worth it and I thought the price was exceedingly reasonable.
I am def. going to ask them to do the work from now on.

Multi Construction has done a fantastic job on some very extensive work on my brownstone. They did a great gut rehab on our dungeon-​like basement We were literally afraid to go down there over the years. After their work it was transformed into a full floor– clean and waterproof with tasteful fixtures and tile work. Used now for work play and laundry. The job came in on budget Their workers are really reliable, on time and get the job done right
Shefarat is a great guy to work with. He listens and is creative and has a lot of skills to work around problems on an old brownstone.
I recommend him highly for any job. He has great plumber and electricians too.

Where do I begin! Meeting Shafayet and Multi Construction team will be an experience I’ll remember for the rest of my life.
Here’s the story: I moved in to a second floor of a private house. As soon as I saw the old walls, drop down tile ceilings, an old kitchen, and a petite bathroom, I knew I needed to start a renovation project! After meeting with some contractors on Angie’s List, I didn’t feel any confidence in hiring them to do this project. I needed divine intervention! And it came with my first meeting with Multi Construction Company. From the very start, literally half an hour, I knew I wanted to go with them. Their ideas, both innovative and also practical, worked out great! The team is filled with skilled craftsmen who know what they’re doing! Friendly, punctual, patient, and also very professional! Traits that just made me feel confident as I would walk in to check the progress of the renovation project each day. Working full time myself, I found it very easy to trust these guys! I would recommend them to anyone.
P. S. When my wife moved in, she was very happy! And that’s always a challenge making her happy. :)) Thank you Mr. Shafayet and Multi Construction Company. Your work speaks for itself. Really. Thank you!

Our condo was leaking internally along one wall, and we had Shafayet come out to look at the leaks and give us a quote on restuccoing the outside wall. Shafayet was extremely professional and fairly priced — around $ 6,000 for one wall, with 30 year window caulking included. It took a few months to decide on who we were going to go with, and in that timeframe Shafayet was very responsive to all of my questions and requests. We ended up hiring him and his team started about 2 weeks later. They finished the job within 2 weeks and were very accommodating, especially with the way we access our backyard (only the 1^st floor apt has access to the yard, so everyone had to use the basement window to get to the backyard). Our building is a 3 unit condo and while I was the main contact for Shafayet, he still worked with the other 2 owners and listened to their questions/​requests. I would definitely recommend Multi Construction Company, and I would hire them again. So far no leaks along that wall, and we have had a few storms since they finished.

We had great experience with MULTI CONSTRUCTION COMPANY. They help me to renovate my kitchen within my budget. They showed me material samples and explain me the difference between material prices and durability & professionally explained how the works needed to be done. We are extremely satisfied & impressed by their entire staffs. The friendliness and professionalism was greatly appreciated. Currently they are remodeling my friend’s bathroom & it’s coming out great. We would highly recommend hiring them.
