Funny name? Yes. Unfortunately, that’s where the fun stops. This place exists pretty much solely to get grease inside a bunch of teenagers on their way to and from school. Their coffee is serviceable, can’t say much good about the rest of it. With so many other delicious options nearby, skip this one.

I’m not ashamed to admit that I went inside because of its name. Sure, sure, it’s just«lunch box» with an ‘m’. But. but. they have to be aware of the euphemism, right? Multiple friends had already giggled childishly along with me as we passed the no-frills joint, and I made a mental note that I’d simply have to go in soon and investigate whether Munch Box is just a catchy name/proclivity or if there’s any more to the restaurant. It turns out that there is not much more to the place at all. Décor is pure no-frills minimalism and the four small tables don’t seem to encourage much dining in. The gyro I ordered used four strips of frozen gyro meat(as opposed to meat sliced from the more classy, standard gyro skewer), but the bread and assorted toppings were fresh and tasty. Good thin fries, but slightly lacking in flavor. Why 3 stars? The staff was friendly and the pricing was very good — 5.50 for the gyro, fries and a can of soda. I can’t imagine ever craving anything from this place, but it’s a nice place for a decent, cheap lunch, and there’s a pretty good selection of breakfast and lunch fare(they close for dinner).
