Went here today, place is closed… or if it’s not closed, it’s definitely not at 201 court st any more.

This little shop has loads of cool handmade jewelry, and the artist Laura is the best. She helped me pick a piece of jewelry and sent it out to her guy for personalized speedy engraving; and the piece looked beautiful when it came in. She called me and we arranged for immediate pickup. Totally satisfied with the transaction and would look to her again for future jewelry needs. So much nicer than dealing with a big company and it’s nice to know you are supporting individual artists. They also have a lot of other artsy home décor stuff, though I was on a mission and honestly barely glanced at it. I had a good feeling when I walked in. She and the other shopkeepers are friendly and make you feel welcome w/​o smothering you while you are trying to browse or looking at you down their noses like you may slip a Venetian glass paperweight into your parka at any moment. Nice shop, good selection, great service.

I ate a big breakfast. This matters to you because while I was wandering around, waiting to get hungry enough to go to lunch,* I wandered into this nice little shop.
It is full of all sorts of beautiful things: picture frames, trinkets, and jewelry mostly. But except for my watch and snap bracelets (undeniably awesome), I’m not much into jewelry.
So while my girlfriend perused the selection, I busied myself talking to the man behind the counter. I couldn’t understand everything he said, as he spoke very softly, but I’m almost positive he makes the gorgeous, all-​wood jewelry boxes himself. They are nice enough that I am considering acquiring a large number of pinky rings and ostentatious necklaces simply so I can justify buying one.
I also want the SWEET glass frog that just hangs on the end of the shelf when you walk in. But my girlfriend pointed out that it was $ 121, which is kind of a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a little glass frog. At least if you still regularly drink shit beer.
