Moving to Bay Ridge over 6 years ago and living on Ovington Ave and on one of my walks towards 3rd Ave, I discovered this cozy, extremely clean and well maintained coin operated self service and drop in laundromat. The owner was very pleasant, kind, warm and friendly. I didn’t know very many people in the area and she became my google search personified(of sort) of the neighborhood. Over the years as prices from coin operated machines have risen in the area they have kept their prices constantly reasonable and not resorting to taking wash time minutes from their machines. Jenny even gave me tips on watching my coveted and expensive Northface coats. This is a wonderful establishment and I am truly lucky to have found it.

Where do we begin? When I call you and ask you what your rate per pound is, don’t lie to me and tell me that you charge 70 cents a pound when you really have a 7 pound minimum for $ 8 and actually charge 75 cents a pound after that. Also, the customer should not have to call you after two days asking when his laundry will be dropped off — the onus is on *you* to schedule and stick to a delivery time. As a sidenote, your delivery person should carry change for more than a tenner. Finally, when I call you to ask for an accounting of the amount you’re charging me, do me the honor of not feeding me a line about not ever writing down the amount of laundry done on the receipt. Going local is great, but I refuse to deal with unprofessional businesses that sell short and are not upfront with charges. I shall not be returning to New Ovington Laundromat, and suggest others stay away as well.

They lost my laundry after the second time of using them. She swore they had delivered my items to me. It took me going there and insisting I had never received my clothes from them for her to finally advise me that she would run the rotating rack of clothes so that she could«prove» to me that she did not have my clothing. As the items turned there hung my down comforter and just a few items behind it, my clothes. The guy who had picked up my laundry had written the wrong address on everything. All I could think is what if they had been delivered to that address and my laundry wasn’t returned(unlikely, but possible). After we «found» the dry cleaned items, she then looked for a laundry bag under the same address and it was there too. She then didn’t want her delivery guy to deliver the items to my home since I was there. I carried a few home, just to ensure they were not«lost«again, but insisted that the majority of items be delivered as I live a several blocks from the cleaners. I never went back. It was a shame as I thought they did a good job. But the worst fear you have is that a cleaners/laundromat will lose your clothes.

Pretty great place to do your laundry, in the unfortunate event of laundry day. I highly recommend the same day drop-off service. My whites have never come back so white and the clean cotton smell is heavenly. They even fold your socks! They charge by weight, so use a lightweight container.
