I eat at New Times several times a week usually. The food is good at reasonable prices.

first time order. ordered couple of dishes to see if if we like them and future order from them. Neither has hit a mark or came close. Was not so terrible but we have had much better. Will try other place next time.

This place used to be good, but recently they seem to have changed their recipes. Szechuan dishes are not as good as they used to be; the sauce is the same but vegetables have been switched to mostly celery and peppers. Sesame chicken is a big disappointment. Their preparation used to be my favorite, the sauce they used and the crispy chicken. My last order was a big surprise: while the presentation was nice as always, and sauce was the same, but the chicken they use has been switched. It’s now similar to what the cheap chinese places make, cheap synthetic chicken with more breading than the actual chicken. While eating it, I had to check if there was chicken in there because all I could taste is breading. I rather if this place raised their prices instead of degrading their food quality. Time to search for a new chinese place.

Ordered from this place because of the rave reviews, and also because I live 2 blocks away. Only ordered 2 items — Hot & Spicy bean curd, and shrimp egg foo young. The shrimp egg foo young was quite good. I’d recommend it. The pancakes were thick and drenched in a thick and creamy light brown colored gravy — and everything had a nice flavor. They also didn’t skimp on the shrimp. After one bite of the«hot & spicy bean curd» it was immediately obvious that it was neither hot, nor spicy… at all. In fact, it tasted like mixed vegetables and tofu that were simply soaked in soy sauce with nothing more added. It wasn’t just heat-less, it was also bland. I handed a fork full to my boyfriend(who is NOT a fan of anything even remotely spicy) and he said«It’s edible… but has no spice in it whatsoever». And it didn’t. He walked back to this establishment to *hopefully* get the bean curd dish I ordered, with any recognizable amount of heat whatsoever. And I was really hoping there would be something authentic in there, like sauteed chilis, and they wouldn’t just dump a packet of hot sauce in it, because I could’ve done that myself. They re-sauteed the dish, and supposedly added a ton of hot sauce(supposedly) my boyfriend tasted it and told me it still wasn’t hot or spicy. So they re-sauteed it a 3rd time, and by that point I was so hungry and frustrated that I just wanted my food delivered home. My boyfriend came home, I tasted the food, and *shocker* — it still wasn’t spicy! I’m not sure if they think the word spicy means«more soy sauce» but it came back literally drowning in sauce(it looked like soup) but the sauce wasn’t spicy. I had to add in 3 of their«hot sauce» packets just to get any semblance of heat. I will *definitely* not be ordering anything labeled as «spicy» from here ever again. Really disappointed in this place, considering the rave reviews. Mr. Tang’s, down the block is far better.

Service with a smile, good food, nice place, not too big, good for take out, or eat in, nice cushioned chairs.

Delicious food, English-speaking counterperson, very nice little place. It is primarily takeout & delivery, but there are some nice comfy restaurant-style tables and chairs where you can park and eat what you bought at the counter.

I absolutely love this place. My family always orders from here and the service is really wonderful. The food is delicious for a chinese place, not too greasy and not too salty. But it’s not the type of place to go to sit down and eat, they’re more of a «to-go» type of deal.
