Nice guys but I think they just changed my strings and cleaned my guitar for 55 dollars I asked to reset my neck and looks just like how I left it plus they didn’t even call me to tell me it was ready until I called seems like smoke and mirrors won’t go there again

Really are the good guys! I have been there three times in the past two weeks for various repairs, not to mention I have purchased quite a few items from them. ALWAYS awesome service and whenever they’re open they’re more than happy to answer any questions I have over the phone. Ordering products can be a pain in the ass, but not at norms. Totally painless purchasing experience. Awesome store!

I was looking for a specific microphone that no one else in new York/Brooklyn had in stock. They were far away from where I lived but as I try to only support local/small businesses I was thrilled when they said they had it in stock. They even answered the phone with the phrase«Norms music we’re the good guys» I was so relieved. I asked them to hold it for me and gave them my name when they asked for it. I showed up an hour and a half later and a different person said they just sold it to someone else. They even said they heard their co worker say«did you call just now and put this on hold?» and the customer said«no» but they sold it anyway. The rest of the staff didn’t seem to care and as I have worked several service industry jobs In my life I know what it’s like not to care but they didn’t even apologize and were very very unknowledgeable about the mics they did have in stock when they quickly tried to get me to purchase something else. It’s such a bummer when you know you’d get much better service and a cheaper price at a chain like guitar center. EDIT: To respond to the owner who commented on this review: ” I am very sorry you had an unpleasant experience… we really can’t hold items without a deposit due to the fact that many people call and say they are coming in for something and then never show up…“ I specifically asked on the phone if they needed me to put a deposit or pay in full over the phone for them to hold it and he said«nope just come on down» Don’t try and make this sound like it was an situational mistake and not you messing up.
