Northeastern Exterminating

I am a new home owner and had visual damage from termites in my basement. i wasn’t sure if i needed treatment or if the termites were already gone. Joe came by and was very informative. Rather than putting my mind to ease by simply treating and charging me for it, he explained that the damage i was seeing was old and that there was no evidence that they were still remaining at the property. This put my mind at ease and I also felt like he saved me hundreds of dollars from eschewing an unnecessary treatment for termites.

Okay, I waited super long to write this review because I was still traumatized/​scarred/​humiliated/​terrified from our bedbug disaster. Over a year later, I think I can say with certainty Northeastern did the trick. Not only that, the guy who visited our apartment (three times with no extra fees) was amazingly sweet and supportive. If you’re struggling with bedbugs, you know that half of the battle is psychological, and these guys provided not only the bug-​killing chemicals but also the smiles and reassurance that everything would be okay (it was!).
Okay, now for the gory details — it took us a while to realize we had a problem, because we were also suffering from an occasional mosquito problem last summer. I’d wake up with a bite or two, find a mosquito in the apartment, and think nothing of it. Long story short, not all of those were mosquito bites. We called Northeastern the day after we saw the first bug, they were there by the end of the day, and gave us a full list of instructions for how to prep for the treatment, and some helpful practical advice that you wouldn’t think of (don’t start sleeping in another room or douse your bed with over the counter pesticides — these cause the critters to disperse and spread before the professionals come in). The treatment was actually fairly straightforward. We cleaned up the mattress/​boxspring, bagged up our clothes and linens, they came and treated the entire bedroom, then told us to wait a couple weeks to unpack in case we needed a second treatment. I found a few dead/​dying bugs for the next few days (and my new best friends at Northeastern even responded to weekend text messages assuring me that this was part of the process), they came back for one follow-​up treatment two weeks later (no extra charge), and that was it.
Of course, it took a couple months of freaking out about lint/​crumbs on the sheets before I believed that everything was okay. But Northeastern did things right the first time, and we haven’t had a problem since.

With so many choices to choose from on getting rid of bed bugs I more than recommend this place. From the first email I sent I got a quick response. we set up the first appointment and I felt completely comfortable with james. He came to assess the problem and made me and my wife feel confident we will take care of these terrible critters. He started his process right away and assured me that we won’t have this problem after he’s done… soon after he left the problem was considerably less…2 weeks later he came back because bed bugs are hard to get rid of. James came and did his process again. now we are completely bug free. I would just like to say that James is an awesome nice friendly person and stuck to his word and helped us from start to finish oh and came at the exact time he said he would… if your reading this review that means you need his service. look no futher and call these guys you won’t be disappointed. .Thanks again James

I almost never post reviews but I just had to. Joe deserved all the raves he has gotten.
I had called a couple of exterminators because I was afraid i had bed bugs. I left a message with Northeastern but before they called me back I reached another who advised that I schedule an appt which was going to cost $ 250. As soon as I got off the phone with them, Joe called. He calmed me down and had me send him a text photo of the bug I saw. He immediately told me it was not a bed bug. WOW! Was I relieved. And also thrilled that he was willing to do that even though he didnt know me at all. If I ever need extermination of any kind, I will call him. And I highly recommend him. He could have easily made money from my fear and I so appreciate that he didn’t.

These guys are incredible. A father/​son team who really know what they’re doing. So thorough in their inspection and, perhaps just as important, they’re very kind. When they gave me the «all clear» after a bedbug scare, I had no doubt in their opinion considering how much time they spent searching every nook and cranny of my apartment, gently taking things apart and putting them back together. They also didn’t try to scare me into any kind of treatment. They didn’t find any evidence of an infestation, and that was it. There’s a 30 day guarantee on an inspection, so if we have any other problems before then, I know I can call on them. Highly recommended!

This review is long overdue! Should have written this review last year but never quite got around to it.
Background: A year ago, there was the whole N-​Train bed bugs news that really freaked me out. Around the same time, I had some mysterious bite marks near my upper thigh (in hind sight, I believed it was a very vicious mosquito that got trapped underneath my blankets and then went feasting). The combo of the bites and the N-​Train bed bugs scare has left me sleepless for many nights so I decided to fork over the money and get professional help.
I did a lot of Unilocal-​research to find the best pest control company that has high reviews and is affordable-​Northeaster Exterminating came up. I gave them a call and they were super courteous and helpful. In fact, the owner allowed me to share my fright and diagnosed that I probably didn’t have a bed bug infestation if I only had a one time incident a month ago. He also provided some strategies I can try on my own to see if an inspection is truly necessary, which I so appreciate.
In the end, though I didn’t exactly see signs of potentially having bed bugs, I decided to do the inspection anyway because I just needed the peace of mind and they were quick to help me set one up.
James provided the inspection and was very polite, patient, and thorough in his services. He answered all my questions and made me feel at ease.
Overall, Northeastern has been superb! I can’t recommend them enough. I hope no one has to worry about bed begs infestation BUT… in the unfortunate scenario where you’re unsure or where you do have an infestation-​they are the ones to go to.

They were so cooperative and patient when resolving my building wide bed bug issue. These guys are the real deal when it comes to bed bug extermination. They dealt with all my bug-​o-​phobic questions and phone calls. They’re very knowledgeable too and gave me all kinds of facts. It turns out the guy who lives beneath me had the bed bugs that were crawling up to my apartment. Until they educated me that the bugs could come from attached apartments I freaked. I would have never known that! Thanks guys I am now 2 months bed bug free.

Just got off the phone with Joe about a severe bed bug issue in my mother’s residence and although it was after hours expecting to leave a message, he picked up. Had a great conversation with him about ideas in order to treat them. He seems very knowledgeable in his field. Although it may be too complex of a job, he recommended another company who may have that equipment although much more expensive than his company which I expected. He is 5 stars in my book. The best service we ever had! We had serious beyond serious infestation of German cockroaches! We had other services but nothing compared to joe. His follow up prices are amazing as well .he was our life saver. we had roaches for years… very kind family man. I recommend all to this place he sprayed every little area possible most places just hurry and he took his time. we have 3 children and we are so glad to have. Better home now thanks to this place. we will continue to use them seasonal

These guys really did an amazing job! Not only did they get rid of the bugs but they were very patient in listening to all sorts of paranoid questions. Thank you for easing my mind and cleaning up my place!

I called Northeastern Exterminating back in April after what was luckily only a bed bug scare. Joe was very pleasant on the phone and was able to give us an appointment for an inspection within just one day. James showed up on time and was incredibly thorough with the inspection – taking the time to check the entire apartment from top to bottom. His demeanor was extremely calm and approachable. I honestly cannot stress how patient he was with my many questions. I am admittedly overly nervous about bed bugs, especially in my line of work and have embarrassingly asked him many questions since his «all clear» inspection. James is very logical and honest – valuable traits among a sea of exterminators who could choose to capitalize on clients’ fears. If you are worried about bedbugs or any pests for that matter, I would not hesitate to call this company. They are truly outstanding.

Amazing customer service. I haven’t written a Unilocal review in years but Joe deserves this compliment! I called in a frantic panic because I had tons of bites when I woke up this morning. Joe made me feel so much better which is literally one of the most difficult things to do when someone has a bed bug scare.

We called Northeastern Exterminating to help us with a bedbug problem and they were, start to finish, fantastic to work with. They perform as many treatments as needed within the course of one month for no extra charge. Thankfully they are very thoroughly so we only needed one treatment and a visual follow-​up. They were very honest about pricing, communicative, and reassuring. I would recommend to anyone, and would use them again (although I hope I don’t have to!)

Simply put they were the best! Got rid of my bed bugs.
The whole summer i was getting bites here and there, and chalked them up as mosquito bites. Since i live by a very overgrown backyard in Bushwick, Brooklyn i figured «damn these mosquitos». Then i had a few friends over and one of my friends told me that my bites resembled the ones she had when she had a bed bug issue. As soon as she told me that i freaked. I lost my mind! I called around and got a few quick price estimates then i called Northeastern.
The guy who answered the phone Joe was great, he made me feel like a human again and assured me that they will do whatever they can in their power to get rid of the bugs. He was a regular guy, he wasn’t pushing a sale he was just there to chat which made me feel great. He gave me his advice and i went with it so i scheduled the inspection. He told me anyone who tells you the treatment before confirming bed bugs is doing the wrong thing. He was right. He told me first he would like to come by for an inspection to make sure its actually bed bugs we were dealing with. Then we can take it from there.
The next day they sent the service man James who was very patient and optimistic to check to see if it was actually bed bugs. He spent some time looking and viola! We found a whole bunch of them under my bed frame– I freaked out! The service man calmed me down and told me he would explain how i could prep and he would set a appointment date. Luckily they had an appointment for a couple of days later.
Treatment date came and James asked me if i was all ready for the treatment, i couldn’t be more excited to get this extermination going! So i paid him, went to the laundromat to wash the thousands of pounds of clothes (which was not fun, but needed) and waited. and waited some more. then about 2 hours later i got the call from him saying he finished! So excited.
Fast forward two months and i have not been bitten or seen any bugs at all! Thanks guys you really are the pros and i appreciate you answering all my questions, always getting back to me on time, not being late for the appointment, always being nice, answering my late night emails of beetles and reassuring me they are not bed bugs. Being a girl living alone in Brooklyn i felt so comfortable with these guys. Didn’t feel creeped out, and felt like they are very honest and hardworking guys. I really appreciate it so much. If you have bed bugs call these guys and they will take care of the rest!

Joe is a good honest person. He came out to my home and told me exactly what he was going to do. First they inspected all the areas before they sprayed that’s including my sisters attached apt next to mine which he found more bed bugs at. Then he told us to come back in 4 hrs. We totally trusted him with our belonging while we were gone. We returned in the evening and their was not much of an odor in the home. The original bed bug issue started in my in-​laws home which he then treated a couple of days after my home. My in-​law had a good experience with him as well. Joe works with his son which is also an experienced exterminator. Overall his company gets the work done which is exactly what we needed.

These guys are THE BEST. Joe is a charmer. Not only does he know his stuff, but talking with him will put you immediately at ease.
I was worried about the chemicals because I am pregnant and Joe explained everything to me and let me know the safest way to handle the situation. He is amazing.
James came to do the site visit and extermination. What a professional! He was kind, courteous (He took off his shoes when he came in! So nice!) and knew his stuff.
I know I’m kind of raving about these gentlemen, but having bed bugs is a harrowing experience. I had them before and went about everything the wrong way, but with Northeastern we have had a great experience. It’s been a few weeks since their visit and we have had no more problems. We didn’t even need to ask for a follow up.
They are very reasonably priced for such incredible service. You have to hire these guys. You won’t regret it!

Oh crap I have bed bugs!
That was my initial thought. I have heard nothing but terrifying stories and news reports about how once you have them you’ll never get rid of them. I was so paranoid being a mother of two the last thing I need are bugs biting my kids.
I was recommended to Northeastern Exterminating and I am glad I chose them. I called joe and he was so understanding and helpful with my problem. He stayed on the phone with me 20 minutes and really calmed my nerves. We set an appointment date to get rid of these unwanted guests.
Treatment day came and James my savior came to do an inspection to see how bad the problem was. He took a look around and was very patient with my 101 questions. Everything from «where did my bed bugs come from» to «can they be in my car?». He was truly a god send.
I left him in my apartment to work his magic. It took him about 2 hours and i met him back and he explained everything he did.
A great company I am not sure why they don’t have more great reviews! They were fair with the price but really did a good job.
I am excited to scream «no more bed bugs!!»

I called Northeastern the same afternoon I found a bed bug crawling on my sheets (yuck!). Hearing about the ordeal from friends who have gone through the whole bed bug experience, I was so anxious and wanted someone to come take care of the issue ASAP. I spoke to Joe over the phone and he was incredibly knowledgeable and said that he would squeeze me in the next morning and come by himself.
Joe arrived the next morning right on time, took a look around my studio, and got to work telling me what needed to be done, how long it would take, what chemicals he was using, etc. We got along so well, and I stayed in the apt. for over 20 minutes just talking to him and helping him search for the nasty culprits.
I left for an hour and came back to find a job well done. Joe had treated every surface and went above and beyond by doing extra work in several areas (even getting rid of a small ant problem he noticed as well).
It has been a month and I am happy and relieved to say that I have not seen a bug since! Next time I need an exterminator (hopefully never!) I know who to call. You’ve got a loyal customer, Joe!

I called them because they came Highly recommended for bed bug work. I spoke with joe and he explained what needed to be done on my part to prepare for the treatment. He was a real nice down to earth guy and was very honest with me.
Okay so the day of service came and a nice young patient young gentleman came by to do the service. He sat down with me prior to the work and explained my whole situation. Then before he treated he did a thorough inspection. He found the bed bug nest! He recommended that I treated the whole apartment because there was a high chance they could be in other rooms.
He really took apart all the beds, took all my curtain rods down, it looked like a tornado hit my room after he treated. He was neat but precise. I saw a few dead ones by the time I arrived home.
I waited 4 months to leave a review so I could be sure but I am now 100% bedbug free thanks to these pros! It’s nice to know there are still good people in this world doing great work! Thanks guys now I can sleep tight!
