Excellent black ice tea and a bathroom. Wonderful chocolate smells. Excellent list of chocolate types. Looks like an amazing place to chill.

Cozy little shop that was irresistable on a cold day. Stopped in for a small, rich cup of their signature hot chocolate. Delicious! Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area. Only a couple small tables in the front, and I’ve seen people camped out there doing work.

This place offers a cute spot to have a warm beverage, they also have great chocolate! However, the service is bad and the stuff is rude.

I met a long-lost friend here after work one day, and I chose it because I wanted a quiet spot in the Boerum Hill area that would offer coffee drinks OR wine/beer, so she could choose whatever she liked. Done, done and done! Very cute, cozy spot, there was only one other patron there on the Wednesday evening that we went, and the chairs/sofa seating were great to get comfortable and scatter my stuff all over. The barista/chocolatier who served us was really nice, and she served us up a lovely cortado(for me) and mocha(for my friend), both of which were pretty much just the thing on such a on a rainy, windy night. She graciously offered a milk chocolate lollipop heart to us for free because of a tiny, melting-related flaw, and my friend took that one. I think I’ll choose the milk chocolate variety next time myself because the white chocolate one I got instead was a little too sweet, even for me. It’s super close to the Atlantic Avenue subway terminal, which is along my commute, so I look forward to coming back for more with a friend, my laptop, or a book, Nunu is excellent and delicious for all of it.

I came here after I read an article about the best hot chocolate locations in the city. They have hot chocolate and it can be made with almond milk. However you have to be patient before drinking it, because it’s burning hot. They also have dairy free chocolates. I had a piece of Hokey Pokey, it’s golden crispy inside, like honeycomb but without the honey. They use golden syrup instead. Hokey Pokey: «A crunchy candy that we make at our shop from a golden syrup. As it cools we bubble it up so it’s slightly more airy than toffee and then we smother it in dark chocolate.» It was a discovery for me, I never knew that I would like honeycomb this much. So I returned home with a box of Hokey Pokey. It’s a small store, but they have a nice area to sit and sip your chocolate. Hot chocolate — Dark(almond milk) Size: small, large Taste: bittersweet Temperature: burning hot, totally undrinkable Texture: rich

Bestest smallest coffeehouse ever! Super chill, Fantastic, hand made chocolates and a fantastic staff. So grateful they are in the neighborhood as I’ve had my «go-to» spot for 4 years now and wouldn’t know what I’d do to fill the void without them!

Hands down the best chocolate in NYC. Smooth dark chocolate, never bitter. Justine knows what she is doing… The chocolate Grahams are a must –have, and I never leave without a chocolate almond bar in my bag. Vegan options too.

Yummy, great chocolate! Whenever I come to NYC, I visit them! They used to be in TriBeCa too! But I guess they are closed? Anyways… Their hot chocolate is amazing! South African Amarula Ganache, Organic Raspberry, Hazelnut Ganache and Chocolate Covered Cacao Nibs are my fav! Please try!

This place has a cute menu. They have chocolates that they make in-house, hot chocolate, coffee, tea, wine and beer. It’s a nice little selection. The place is very small — only seats about 5 people. I ordered the salted caramel hot chocolate. It was okay. I wasn’t that impressed, honestly. I was expecting it to be much better. It had a light flavor and the chocolate part was good. I’d like to try one of the chocolates next time. That is clearly their strong point as they had huge orders waiting for pick-up.

The chocolate chai is definitely worth checking out. It was a nice blend of «spicy» and sweet. I tried my friends’ spicy hot chocolate and regular hot chocolate. They were good, but it wasn’t anything special. Overall, Nunu offered a cozy spot for us to get out of the cold and enjoy a warm beverage and chit-chat. We didn’t order any of their chocolate bars, which is what they are known for — so I guess I’ll have to come back!

Salted caramel chocolate or salted caramel hot chocolate? Why not both, I did it and I feel like my day was uplifted. The interior is awesome and the neighborhood begs for a quaint little café like this.

Really delicious, smooth chocolates here, albeit a bit pricey. I bought an assortment of 12 so I could try a bunch of flavors. My favorite though, was the double dark chocolate. What can I say? I’m a purist. The caramel centered dark chocolate was also really good — I could taste that homemade caramel flavor which is so mouthwatering. I also picked up a «frozen» mocha that morning. It wasn’t special, I couldn’t taste the flavors of either the chocolate(syrup?) or the coffee. Skip that, just get truffles.

When I got to the shop, it seemed as though they hadn’t opened yet. They were closed at 8am, yet the time clearly says they open at 7am. As I was about to put them on blast here on Unilocal, along comes Charlie(who I assume is the manager). He was very hospitable and very customer service oriented and he literally opened up the shop and offered me a seat inside. I ordered a Pumpkin Spice Latte and they gave it to me on the house. People can be late to work. Accidents happen. LIFEHAPPENS! Even with all of these considerations, good customer service(Supported by excellent management! Thanks Charlie!) will make you forget about everything else! Good job! Good team!

Vegan review! They have dairy-free truffles and bars available: just ask! I bought the mezcal truffle and beer truffle(some sort of ale, I don’t remember), and they were both delicious. They were soft in the center and perfectly rich. The beer one was great but the mezcal was my favorite. It was spicy but not overwhelmingly so. The chocolate was still the star.

Lapin and I came stopped by one Saturday afternoon for a sweet treat. The cozy store was empty and seemed a bit chaotic. Perhaps, they were preparing for a huge shipment because I didn’t see any seating areas so we took our hot chocolate to go. The cashier was okay but didn’t really engaged with us. The hot chocolate was okay, I tend to like my hot chocolates more sweet chocolate that cocoa chocolate tasting. I was a bit disappointed that they didn’t have sugar or whipped cream to add to the hot chocolate as well. We got a couple of boxes of chocolates, which were okay but not worth the price in my opinion.

The staff was super helpful in guiding me towards the best chocolate packages for my friends and family. Their sheer variety of chocolates, expert knowledge on the subject and friendly staff scored this café five stars. If you’re ever in the area and would like to try out some truly artisan chocolates, I’d give this shop a try.

I visited Nunu in the early evening on a Sunday. Hot chocolate(5⁄5) — This is why I went in the first place and it was everything I wanted. The little melting ground chocolate on top really made this the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. Would go back again and again for it. Chocolate bars(4⁄5) — I’m not huge on dark chocolate, so take me with a grain of salt here, but nonetheless, I took the clerk’s advice on trying the popular dark chocolate & soft caramel bar, as well as the bacon toffee crunch bar, $ 5 and $ 7 respectively. That price is more than I’d pay for a candy bar regularly, but it’s Brooklyn and this is not a normal candy bar, so you know… The packaging and presentation is really high quality. Both bars were pretty rich, so I ate them slowly, one or two squares at a time, over the next week. The chocolate is really, really smooth. The bacon bar was okay, but I found the bitterness overpowered the sea salt too much. The caramel bar was pretty great. Particularly, the caramel filling is really soft and flavorful, almost liquid, and it was my favorite part. Next time, I’d try more of their caramel offerings. My biggest critique, and reason for not giving 5⁄5 here is: the bacon bar felt over-hyped to me, and I was hoping for milk chocolate options. Staff(5⁄5) — There were a few girls there, at least one of which seemed be the owner. All were high-spirited while I kept to myself and spent a few minutes enjoying hot chocolate. The cashier was friendly, and happy to explain the variety of chocolates to me. Environment(3⁄5) — There’s one table with two chairs, the checkout counter, and that’s pretty much it. Some chaos was happening off to the right side with boxes and holiday products which felt a little weird given how much care is put into the products and the left side of the store. A more comfortable environment, like an upscale café, would have made the whole experience as good as the hot chocolate.

Passed by this cool looking chocolate shop on Atlantic Avenue several times before finally giving it a try. I’m glad I did. Space can feel a little cluttered as they are basically making and packaging the chocolates in the same area where customers come in to purchase, but this adds to the quality factor of what you are receiving in my opinion. Otherwise, only a few chairs and a couch, but if you can snag a spot you will probably not want to leave anytime soon. Seating is super comfortable and you are right next to the store front window which is great for people watching. After sitting down, had the hot chocolate with was served at a temperature that wasn’t scalding hot and was packed with flavor. There are more beverage choices and many more choices of chocolates to buy so I have to be sure to explore a little more on another visit. Great place to stop by and relax while enjoying some chocolate or coffee if ever in the area.

Nunu is run by a husband and wife duo, and they’re taking great detail into handcrafted, sustainable, naturally made truffles and caramels. They have lots of great sounding products, including hot chocolate. To narrow down my decision, I went with their most popular item, their Hand Dipped Salt Caramels. Amazing. No, so amazing. Caramel dipped in dark chocolate and sprinkled with Fleur de Sel. The chocolate is smooth, not overly bitter but has a melty texture that makes it so great. You instantly get the salty and sweet component. I especially love the larger flakes of sea salt, no need to be shy with the salt. The caramel is rich and deep in flavor with an excellent consistency, and not overly sweet, which balances out the whole chocolate so well.

You know what it is. These salted caramels are the entire reason that I’ve had to stop telling people I don’t like sweets. They are the perfect balance of crunchy, salty, lusciously sweet deliciousness. Yes, they aren’t cheap, but they are 100% worth it. I think I’m going to make a habit of giving them to people as gifts, but only if I know I’ll be around to eat them.
