Olga Guanabara is otherworldly, filled with treasures for your home and self that can’t be found anywhere else. The space is dreamy and the furniture is built by the owner, Richard, in his on-site workshop. HIs tables are exquisite, lots of steel, reclaimed wood, glass, etc. They are expensive but these aren’t mass-produced pressed-board pieces – they are heirloom-quality pieces. I could almost hear my Nana’s reminding voice, «You get what you pay for. »

Olga Guanabara is a cool shop in Dumbo(Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) that has furniture from reclaimed materials, art, jewelry, and other home stuff in an older brick building that looks like it was an old factory or warehouse. The namesake Olga is actually a cute chocolate lab( ) and Guanabara refers to the Brazilian heritage of both Olga and the shops founders. I should have taken pictures of some of the cool dining tables & art in the shop, but only took pictures of Olga. Go figure. Anyway, if you’re in the market for some funky art or cool tables & furniture, you should come check out Olga Guanabara.
