Going to gentrify, overcharge for simple food and drive up the costs of living? At least serve the people. Asked for a simple ham, egg and cheese sandwich, with an iced coffee and cappuccino for a fast photoshoot we were conducting nearby. So why with only one patron in attendance before us, did this jackassed counter clerk make it his mission to just serve me the sandwich, while progressively making NEW coffee orders for every new patron entering. Totally ignoring my partner and I. Anything to do with the fact that this has become a gentrified wasteland, chock full of sterile white kids who think stencil art is the new graffitti? Making matters worse, the Jackass acted dumb, didn’t even STARTOURCOFFEEORDERS, and tried to act like a passive aggressive condescending dick. FYI this happened about an hour ago. By a short Latino dude(looked Mexican possibly) who obviously sided on the white-is-right ideal by his behavior. Rather than embarrassing his Uncle Tom-ass, I instead promptly got my money back. Under NO circumstances should anyone Black or even remotely dark skinned expect respect here. Unless you’ve a Becky by your side to validate you. Places like this make us HATE what you all have done to Brooklyn.

I’ve been coming to this place since they opened and I want to love it so badly. They have a decent menu and they’re a small, locally owned business. I’m hoping this was a one off experience but I came in and ordered two bagel sandwiches to go. I waited so long, even the older woman behind the grill asked me what I was waiting on. After an unreasonable amount of time(about 30 minutes total), I approached the counter. At that time I saw two baskets with croissants inside, served to stay. Moments later, a customer approached the counter with a bagel saying he got the wrong order but they would keep one of the bagels since they already started eating it. Hey, no big deal, mistakes happen, right? Right. I had a bad feeling they would package the other bagel for me, which had left the kitchen and was already sent«out into the wild.» Food service rule of thumb: once food leaves the kitchen, it’s over. Do not attempt to serve this tainted food to another patron. Even if you had your eyes on it the whole time! Just no! I watched them put one more order on the grill, so I attempted to be polite and mention I actually ordered two. They proceeded to tell me they already made one. When I questioned that, they ensured me he «didn’t eat it.» I don’t like being put in a position where I have to «argue» with a business about whether it’s right or wrong to re-serve food which had already been(incorrectly) served to another customer.

Major KUDOS to the Owl Juice Pub for having no credit card minimum. Its nice to not have to buy 10 bucks worth of stuff I do not really need just to sit down and have a coffee. its the little things that count and this place does it!

I’ve had one of their sandwiches forgot the name but it was mozzarella cheese pesto and red peppers. It was alright nothing special for the price and very small on the portions. The strawberry fields smoothie is a hit or miss. There’s no consistency, I mean it should always taste good can’t mess up using pb bananas and strawberries. I had the Mellow Yellow smoothie today it was gross. Pineapple and mango with whole milk smoothie.

Owl Juice Pub might actually be the best coffee shop in the world. The staff treat customers like family members – but without any of the dysfunctional dynamics of your actual family. The food is delicious and the drinks are always made with TLC. I have never once been less than satisfied in my caffeinated concoction(and I’m a finicky white lady). This place is a gem, with a cozy atmosphere, great WiFi, and a well-curated soundtrack. If you don’t live in the neighborhood, move there. Or swipe your subway card and get here because life is hard and you deserve it.

Yummy and fresh drinks. Average Prices. Comfortable to be at. Their menu is great but adding almond milk and flax will cost you extra. Getting drinks at this place makes me feel like I’m doing something good to my body.

Great Bushwick juice bar and gathering place. Owl Juice Pub may have the pricey green juices you’ve come to associate with Brooklyn gentrification, but it lacks the pretension and complete lack of awareness you might find elsewhere. Owl Juice Pub is a great place to hang out in, super comfy and no one pushes you to move along outside your own pace(but please, its not nice to sit for hours on your laptop when people are trying to find a space to eat and drink, go home). Smoothies and juices are priced at the average– $ 6-$ 8, but I don’t like that they sneak in an upcharge if you want almond or soy milk in your smoothie. At most healthy places(where you’re blending in a veggie, not just a bunch of sugar) these days nut milk is the standard for smoothies, so I think charging extra for it is kind of lame. On the other hand, I feel like the food here is really reasonably price and pretty affordable. Great sandwiches, salads, bagels etc.

Ordered delivery, two hours, still no food. Tried calling, they’re letting it ring. EDIT: Adding a couple stars because I finally got in touch with them and got a refund. They were super polite on the phone, and the food IS good. They said they’re getting a new driver, so hopefully this is an isolated incident.

Great fresh & healthy smoothies and drinks. Place is very spacious, clean, and feels very homey. I can understand how service can be somewhat slow. The strawberry fields smoothie w/soy milk was divine. The Yummy for your tummy felt like I was doing my body a favor. really refreshing and nutritious.

I’ve given this place a chance many times but the service here is slow, slow, slow, and oh did I mention… slow. Food and drinks are fine but man if you’re in a rush to NOT come here.

Such a great little café. Super duper nice people that operate it(might be a family?) and they are so pleasant in the morning. Get the veggie burrito with eggs. Amaze.

I’m giving this place 4 stars and not 5 simple because the smoothies and coffee I got were fairly average. That being said, the owners are very friendly, the ambiance of the place is nice and chill, and most importantly this place is less crowded than some of the coffee shops in the area. I went with the blue smoothie and got a drip coffee. The smoothie was fresh and decent however, the drip coffee was not fresh and honestly wasn’t very good. The place has juice in its name for a reason… Stick to the fresh stuff and don’t get too fancy with it

Cute lil place. I had the Strawberry Fields which was strawberry, banana and peanut butter, and it was delicious. It seems they have a lot of drinks with peanut butter and I’m all for this. I definitely want to come back and try more of their drinks. Free WiFi.

Pretty freakin’ solid smoothies and sandwiches for v reasonable prices. Yesterday I had their special sandwich with egg whites, swiss cheese, kale, and avocado on multigrain toast. $ 5. Totally unheard of anywhere else around these parts. And their smoothies are thick, fruity, and delicious. I wish it were a little cleaner, the trash was overflowing, but it seems they have quite the loyal crowd and I realize that makes it hard to maintain a spotless space during a rush. Not a big deal. I’ll beeee baaack.

Quick service and great juices for a fair price. I haven’t tried the food yet, but everything sounds great. There’s some bench space out front if you’d like to enjoy your food/bev al fresco, or plenty of small tables and some big chairs inside.

Absolutely adore this little spot near the Jefferson L. A friend introduced me when we met one day for coffee, and we spent time sitting by the big windows and chatting. I’ve found myself coming back whenever I need a quiet space to sit, read, or do work. The staff are always extremely friendly, even in the off chance that the spot is crowded at the time. Owl Juice serves quite a few combinations of juices, smoothies, and sandwiches in addition to their coffee and tea selections. They even have gluten free bagels, in case you want to get that delicious Broadway sandwich on something that’s celiac approved. You can adapt any of their smoothies to your liking — adding protein powder, almond butter, or any type or dairy or non-dairy milk. I haven’t tried their juices, but I did overhear someone swearing it was the best juice they ever had. Overall, I think their atmosphere is the best part of coming here. It’s nice and bright at the tables in the front, and there’s couch space if you want to tuck away toward the back and plug in with your laptop. If you happen to have your headphones off, you’re likely to hear some friendly exchanges with the patrons and the counter staff — making this place feel like a homey, neighborhood spot and not just another coffee shop.

This place is so lovely. The ambience is very calm and peaceful. The woman who takes your order is beyond sweet and has a adorable sense of humor. I think she’s the owner. So my girlfriend and I both had the strawberry fields. She had also ordered a raisin bagel with cream cheese and grape jelly which she said tasted really good. It’s a cute spot to come enjoy your drink or sandwich while having your nose stuck in a book.

The juices are good and you know they’re fresh because you can still taste the FIBER! That’s when you know you’re getting a real fruit smoothie/juice. But for me, I like my juices a little smoother and not as chalky. However, this place is cozy, close to two different subway stops and has really nice people working the bar. It’s a great little local place with very cute ambience. But if you’re looking to come for some quality study time, make sure you are prepared to be squeezed in a little tiny area. There’s very limited seating.
