Service is so terrible. I have to wait for ever until I get my food. The staff is so rrrrrrrrrude. what surprise me that the owner is there at all time and not noticing what’s going on. But I guess, when u r well known u don’t care anymore.

Let me first start off by saying the balsamic glaze is the best you’ll ever taste. Let’s move on. You can put it on anything. Sandwiches and even breakfast food is great. You won’t be sorry you came. It is a little tight in there with the seating. Enjoy the sights of bay ridge through their big windows. They also have a great selection for dessert. Oh… Did I mention it a great bakery as well?

Love their iced coffee here and their bagels are not bad too. I just wish their service was a little more consistent. There are days when you get really quick service but other days, you don’t get any. Their coffee bar is kind of cute but makes ordering a little confusing. Apparently you order everything and pay up front by the register and then you go to the coffee bar in the back and tell them what you ordered for drinks. It could be a little more streamlined.

Their sandwiches, their salads, their pastries are great. their service? MEH! went there twice in a different year and still the same non attentive services that i got. most of the waitress were like a kid who were there just to get some easy cash. like last Sunday. specifically ordered tea and it did not come out with the meal. i just realized that like 10 mins after i got my salad. i called her and asked for my tea to which she replied: oh ok. then the tea itself took another 10 mins. seriously. took her that long to put hot water and tea bag in a cup. asked for check. 10 mins for check. then she disappeared to the back and then outside the door. how on earth this place still survive with horrible service is beyond me.

I was initially excited at the sight of a bakery so close to home. There is a huge variety of baked goods at the counter window that really get your hopes up, but taste wise everything I’ve tried has been mediocre. I’ve had their cannolis, tiramisu, and a chocolate cake slice if my memory serves me right… but nothing to write home about. I would much rather go down the block for any dessert. The only thing I get from Paneantico now is their house salad with chicken to go. Because of their dismal service, I will never sit in. It’s not that the wait staff is particularly nasty, but you get this feeling that they just don’t care. The last time we were here to sit down, it took a while to even get the menu… and then it was an exercise to get their attention to order… and then we went through the same process to get the check. Oh, but I do like their bread. So their house salad and bread are their saving graces.

The service is terrible, even when you ask for your check you wait for 30 minutes. They treat their guests terribly, and some of them are racist. They’re definitely overpriced. The one star is for the plain cheesecake… which I take to go I don’t know what the big deal is… there are lots of better place for each and every item on their menu for a better price and friendlier faces selling them.

The blackout cake is amazing! The guy refused to write happy birthday on the cake. I was so disappointed. The cakes here are pretty! The cheesecake is better than juniors!!! The cakes here are affordable.

I don’t know where to begin. The service is worse than lousy … They hire uninterested children to wait on you, if you can get one to do you the favor. Through the yrs. I’ve clocked 20+ min wait time to get a menu … If you order to go, they will rob you at least a few dollars… per customer … That adds up They don’t give you prices, they just ring anything up. Prices vary depending on who is behind the register. They charge $ 1 for a to go plate??? They do, the charge is on the receipt I asked for … The pastries are all show Want a good Italian pastry ? Go to ALBAS … Want a delicious hero … Go to Leoni’s . I’m so over this place I will never go back … I don’t care how nice of a day it is outside… Keep it, keep it all. Cebu is a few blocks away, with outside tables they treat their customers like royalty … It’s packed you say… All the time too … Just goes to show you how many people are willing to settle for hmmmm, not much

I like their cakes: Cheesecake, Rainbow Cookie cake, Strawberry Short cake are all excellent at very reasonable prices. Their cannolis are delicious too. Their espresso and cappuccino are very good. I order it in the back to go. I don’t sit and wait to be served because… I hear their food is very good, but the service is horrible. I went in once and sat down and was literally ignored! I left after 10 or so min of being ignored. They’re always crowded so I’ll assume some people are not ignored. Is it my face? Lol! Or, that I was solo? I don’t know… I do frequent this place, but get everything to go. The service at the counter is usually ok… The stars are for the cakes at reasonable prices

1. These people don’t value your business. They think that you’re doing them a favor for patronizing their establishment. 2. The sandwiches are way overpriced. 3. The pastries are overpriced. 4. The staff treat you like you’re a burden. Had a giftcard for this place that was given to me last year. Brought it in to use it and was told that they haven’t sold gift cards in 5 years. Definitely false. Regardless, their name is clearly printed on the card. They couldn’t care less that they should honor their commitment. Made no overture to try to make it right. Used to come here all the time(hence the gift card), but won’t be returning. If you’re looking for a good sandwich place in Brooklyn you should visit; Leoni’s, Johns Deli, artisan food valley, Clementes or Philly Grill. If you want good pastry go to: Pasticceria Rocco, Bay Ridge Bakery, Alba or Grandmas bakery on 13th Ave. Also will be reporting them to the NYAG.

One of my favorite places for breakfast in Bay Ridge. A great change from all the diners — they have delicious breakfast sandwiches, lovely coffee, bagels and bread that tastes fresh. Their Italian menu features some things that are very simple, yet delicious. I’ve been here for lunch as well, and I have similar things to say; simple, delicious sandwiches and salads with ingredients that taste fresh. Their desserts are great, they have a wide selection and I have yet to find something I don’t like. Personal highlight: their cannolis. It’s a tight place, gets very cramped on weekends. Really nice outdoor seating in the summer to compensate, but their service can be extremely slow at times(the only deterrent from a 5 star rating). Very reasonably priced.

This is the spot. You want that crazy delicious sandwich or chicken Parmesan? You come here. Fresh baked Italian style bread, amazing pastries and desserts, the lattes are amazing and honestly i haven’t had anything bad here. prices are on the higher side for sandwiches but when you see what they come with, you know where your money goes. come sit for a coffee, have a plate of chicken parmesan with broccoli rabe and some potatoes, finish with a canoli or a tiramisu and an espresso and call it a day.

Service always sucks. Just kids that don’t know how to work, hanging around, chatting, smoking cigarettes while you’re waiting to be given a simple hello, or a menu. I enjoy their sandwiches, they are pretty big. They are a bit overpriced. It is also a hit or miss. But there are plenty of other places to get sandwiches from. Took 15 min to get someone to take our order. Then, another 10 min pass and say they ran out of fried chicken… Apparently that takes 15 – 20 minutes to make? Wasn’t offered anything while we waited. Bad customer service. Greedy, and unprofessional.

I’ve been coming here for years! The food here is great. The service, not so much. Their slogan should be: Come for lunch, stay(for an extra hour) as you try and flag down your server for the check. Let’s start with the food: Breakfast: I can’t imagine why people would ever opt for the diner, Bridgeview for breakfast. Paneantico offers ‘real’ eggs for breakfast — whether it’s in an omelette of your choice, or in a sandwich — paired with bacon or italian sausage. The downside to breakfast, however, is that management must only get 10 croissants delivered each morning — because it’s almost funny to ask for one after 9AM. Same goes for english muffins. We usually go through a song and dance with the waitress: «I’ll have a bacon egg and cheese on a croissant» «Oh, we just ran out of croissants» «Ok, can I have that on an english muffin?» «Ok let me check… oh, we ran out of english muffins…» ”.. . Ok… uhhh…a roll?“ If you’re just looking to nibble on something, their blueberry crumb muffins are to die for. This must be where the hashtag nomnomnom originated from. Lunch: Probably what they’re most known for, their huge sandwiches will fill up just about anyone. A large menu filled with italian delights. Eventually, you’ll be able to memorize and order the Letter and Number next to your shortlist of favorites. N93 for the win. The hero the sandwiches usually come on is pretty hard to bite into, so unless you enjoy cutting the roof of your mouth, ask for a soft roll — just as yummy, and you won’t leave bleeding. Coffee & Dessert Pastries are amazing. Despite the vast selection, Sfogliatella and american cheesecake are our personal go-tos. Their cookies are also top-notch and will please any household family gathering. Although they may get overlooked, try the lemon raspberry cookies(buried in the back) — if you’re in to lemon. Their regular raspberry cookies are the bomb too. When it comes to cappuccinos, Paneantico remains supreme and untouchable. Always super tasty, with enveloping, fluffy milk and a nice dash of cinnamon. Their iced coffee is a staple in the summer as well. The downfall: The Ambiance and Service: This place is loud — and really packs ‘em in here, and always has a line for pastries or sandwiches to go. Which means if you’re at one of the tables hugging the in-store line, you WILL get banged into, hovered over and generally, just feel claustrophobic by the entire Bay Ridge population waiting for cookies. If you get any other table inside the place, be prepared to get to know everything about your neighboring diners, as you will be sitting on top of them(no space between tables). During the summer, outside dining is quite lovely — now that they finally cleaned up that sewer and sinkhole. How people were able to eat sandwiches outdoors in the summer ingesting the scent of raw sewage is beyond me — but now that that’s all cleared up, it’s a great place to people and dog-watch in the warm weather. Finally, the service is why this place gets a 3 instead of 5 stars. Yes, it’s that terrible. You will never… ever, see your waitress again upon delivery of your food — that is, if someone ever comes over to you with menus in the first place. There have been countless times that we’ve sat ourselves — waited, 10, 15, 20 minutes, and then just left. If you do get served, be prepared to wait an additional half hour(minimum) as you try and hunt down your server. They will usually hide in the back, and generally just try and run away if they see you wave for the check. This is especially true in the summer if you want to enjoy the outside seating. A tip, ask for your check once your food comes out — it may actually come to you by the time you’re done eating!

This place sure does make some delicious treats and I have had several items from here over the last few years but never Unilocaled about it. For the most part its a bakery but you can also get a variety of other great things such as coffee, hot sandwiches and salads. Sadly I was only visiting this place to grab some cookies for a holiday dinner because they have a wide assortment. I settled on a two pound package of assorted cookies and was hit with sticker shock since I have not bought something like this in quite some time. It was almost $ 30 which I later learned was normal based on some of the cookies in the assortment. Mind you I was not cheaping out on this at all but have never delved into cookies for that price. It probably would have been cheaper for me to bring a big batch of cold cuts to the gathering. The bottom line is that there is a lot of tasty fare here at Paneantico and everyone visible around me seems to be enjoying themselves whenever I take notice. I want to sit down and enjoy a meal here sometime as having take out stuff is nice but is not the same experience. Of course that being said, you should expect the quality you get to come at a little more cost.

I initially thought this place was awesome and that their food was on point but on my second visit here, I’ve come to realize it depends on the day; the food is definitely hit or miss. First time we went, we ordered a house chicken salad with their balsamic dressing which was fantastic; their house dressing was incredible, made me consider purchasing their take home bottles that they sell; chicken was well cooked and salad was fresh. Wife ordered a chicken parm sandwich, turned out to be pretty decent as well. A few weeks later on our second visit, we ordered the same salad which was a disaster: salad was all soggy, chicken was way overcooked. I felt like I was chewing on a sponge. Wife ordered a steak sandwich which turned out to be a beef jerky sandwich; well done would be an understatement.(They didn’t even ask how she wanted it cooked). Third time, they have a lot of desserts; I gave them the benefit of the doubt and took a few friends to get some pastries/cakes. Everything tastes very artificial and refridgerated. Tastes Costco bought. Go down the block to the bakery instead. It’s much better. Overall, I don’t know if I’d actually ever go back.

I came in on a Wednesday about 1230 and it was packed, it was the day before thanksgiving so that could be the reason, though anytime I come here there’s always a crowd. We came in and were able to grab a table right away even with it being so crowded. Our waitress came over and took our drink orders quickly, but took a while to come back with our two iced coffees. Once she did we orders our meals, I got the grilled chicken house salad, and the person I was with ordered a hot soppressata with egg plant sandwich. The food was absolutely delicious. I love that salad and can eat it everyday, and the sandwich was equally as good. They have the best brick oven sandwich bread here. We also ordered a rice ball to split which was amazing. I was happy because our meals did come out relatively quickly for how busy it was. The service was good and the atmosphere is fun, I already can’t wait to go back!

Little peace of heaven I used to live on Staten Island and royal crown was my favorite casual place to grab a nice delicious salad, some Italian hero, or a nice coffee and pastry. They had outdoor seating and indoor and I loved going with my friends for lunch. When I moved to Brooklyn I realized this is the same place and same owners and it’s exactly the same menu! I was so happy to have this place in the borough It’s easy, delicious and consistently awesome The prices are good too Always a win when in the mood for some Italiano Brunch/lunch recommended –casual

I ate here earlier today and I’m kind of surprised I didn’t have a great experience. I’ve heard good things about Paneantico from others who live in the area but my meal here didn’t live up to the hype. I sat at a table outside and ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with mozzerella and portobello mushroom. The sandwich was very good and I liked their balsamic vinegar too. Here is what I didn’t like: My cup of seltzer I ordered was given to me with a long black strand of hair in it. I, of course, could not drink that and asked for a new cup. My mother ordered a cup of hot tea that sat on the table for about 25 minutes until our waitress eventually came around. She never brought over the milk we asked for, so we asked for a new cup of tea since the first one was now ice cold. Everything was incredibly slow. It was about a 20 minute wait for each thing we requested. My sandwich eventually came and was put on the table with no napkins, no balsamic vinegar, and no utensils. I thought she would have at least brought over napkins but unfortunately, she needed to be reminded of that. Our waitress was nice but she seemed inexperienced. While we sat and waited and waited… a filthy man that looked like he hadn’t showered since 1992, sat down at the table next to us. While he sat there, he continued to burp really loud, stare at other people and have an entire conversation with himself. He might have been a customer(he had a cup of coffee in a paper cup) but really, I think the manager should have politely asked him to leave. This was really about his personal hygiene, which was deplorable. If that wasn’t awful enough, two woman stormed out of Paneantico screaming at each other on the corner(next to our table) and almost got into a fist fight. Keepin’ it classy right? It was a show for all of 3rd Avenue to see that was chaotic and perhaps entertaining to some passerbys who stopped to watch. This place was like a zoo with no cages and so bad I was thinking, any moment now someone is going to come over and say«you’ve just been pranked on TV!» But it wasn’t a camera prank and I’m not smiling. We waited another long wait for the check and I was so exhausted by the end of the meal, I just walked inside and left the money on the counter so I could get the hell out of there.

Napoleon, Sfogliatelle, canoli — you name it they got it. The past reviews are true, you have to wait a bit to get service but half the time it is because it is so packed inside with people trying to buy all the pastries. Everything is simply delicious and the prices are great. They also sell fresh bread which is mouth watering! It is a chill(but busy) café where you can grab some lunch and catch up with friends as well as buy some sweets after. This time we had two cappuccinos, a Sfogliatelle and a fruit tart. All together it came to $ 11– try getting that price in Manhattan! Oh and the cappuccino was strong not watery! Hands down an excellent café with plenty of space to sit and a variety of sweets just be prepared to wait.
