I would not recommend this shop to anyone. I parked in front of it while taking my children to the dentist. When we were leaving, my daughter tripped on the uneven sidewalk in front of the shop and skinned her elbow and started crying. As we were headed to our car, and I was trying to console her, the owner, an elderly, polish man, ran up to me and started violently screaming names and obscenities at me which only made the situation worse. Apparently, I had parked in his«driveway» I use this term loosely as it was being used as a space to display racks of bodega quality plants. One of those racks was placed in front of a faded sign that said«no parking». The space was clearly not being used as a driveway, there was a curb cut but there was no space for a vehicle and the gates were open all I saw were racks of pathetic looking plants. The sign was not visible as it was faded out and blocked by those sad plants. I was called, «stupid, blind, and an idiot» and cursed at in front of my two, young, children. I feared that if i had uttered a word, that it would escalate to something physical. Lucky for me, he stormed away in his van that had a «I heart boobies» sticker on the back, I was considering calling the police because he was being so abusive and violent to me. My children and I were very frightened.

It was approaching seven on a Tuesday evening and I was in need of an indoor plant. So I made my way towards Manhattan Avenue by way of Meserole, I decided to make a left onto Leonard St. to avoid wasting a quarter in those money-grubbing parking meters. Crossing over Norman, I found a spot right away. Being that Paradise Florist was located on the same side of the street as my parking spot; I ventured in and ditched my idea of trekking all the way over to Manhattan Ave. I’m glad I did. I was able to pick up a healthy looking«lipstick» plant that the women at the counter said sprouts little red flowers. Mission accomplished! If you’re looking to fill in those sidewalk flower beds in front of your three-family or have a strong case of the green thumb, Paradise has more than enough outdoor selections to keep you occupied throughout the season. Helpful staff and reasonable prices. My new favorite florist.
