Came here a few days ago to get an iced latte and I have to say that I am impressed! First of all, as soon as you enter the café, it feels a bit out of place in the Sunset Park neighborhood. As others have mentioned, the store would seem more at home elsewhere, such as Manhattan. My iced latte was 4.75 which is slightly on the pricier side. It was quite delicious, but I prefer Sunhouse’s(located on 40 st and 7 ave, and is slightly cheaper) over Parkette’s. However, Parkette offers seating and a variety of sandwiches and lunch items(that I have not yet tried) that Sunhouse does not. Overall, I would come here if I need a nearby coffee shop to study or work on an essay, as I have seen many others have done. Only complaint is that I feel the music in the shop can be a bit loud for ample and serious studying.

Quaint little coffee shop and café in Sunset Park. I got an iced coffee since the cold brew wasn’t ready yet(we were there early on a Sunday). Would’ve liked to have tried the pastries, but we had just stuffed ourselves across the street at Mis Angelitos Bakery.

Beautiful café, wooden floors, exposed brick, greenery with white walls and large windows at the front giving you a view of a corner of Sunset Park. Tables with soft seats and a bar-like table with stools by the window. Indie music in the background. Wifi with password, restroom. If you get coffee to stay it comes in a real cup and has the swirled coffee art on the top like in the photos. If I lived in the neighborhood, I’d probably always find myself in this café. This is not applicable to this café alone, just something that always surprises me. Whenever I venture into Brooklyn, I find it jarring how places like this contrast so enormously with everything surrounding. We all hear talk about gentrification, I guess I never realized how tangible it can be. Walking into a café like this feels like one is in a trendy neighborhood in lower Manhattan, but just walk out the door and you’re back in a working class(now, transitioning I guess) neighborhood. Anyway, all kinds of neighborhoods are always changing, that’s life in New York City I suppose. Anyway – great coffee – I recommend the Macchiato. There’s Wifi, comfortable seating. Definitely a nice café to check out, relax and/or get some work done in if you live in the neighborhood or are exploring.

Honestly, the best part of Sunset Park. We all deserve good coffee, not just the hipsters in Williamsburg. These baristas are natives and not some transplants from Texas or whatever. They genuinely care about their product and are very precise with their pours. They serve stumptown(hopefully they will be switching their beans soon to something more local) and serve Dough Doughnuts on the weekend! The aesthetics of Parkette are cozy, warm, hip, with mountain lodge vibes. Jeremy and John are the head baristas and they are absolutely the best. They frequent coffee tastings around the city all the time, proof that they care about craft and are passionate baristas. Finally a nice coffee place where I don’t feel awkward around pretentious hipster coffee nerds! Thi Lam

A cute, new café in Sunset Park, uncommon with this neighborhood opened up recently serving up Stumptown coffee in varying formats via espresso miachines(La Marzocco) and a selection of Dough Doughnuts to pick from. The café certainly has character, light, cozy and airy with a good amount of seating for residents looking for premium brews. They recently began offering a small selection of lunch offerings like sandwiches and pastries to complement their drink offerings. Breakfast bites can be expected ranging from the before-mentioned doughnuts, croissants, bagels. Service is prompt and coffee/drinks arrive in timely fashion. I will definitely come back again if I’m in the area.

Cutest Café in Sunset Park with quality coffee. John and Jeremy are the best baristas in the game! Check it out.

Parkette is one of, if not, the best thing to happen to Sunset Park! The café being near to the heart of the neighborhood is evidence of a changing economy and a changing times. The baristas are very friendly and talented at their craft! Notably, Jeremy and John are folks who are passionate about coffee making and go out of their way to deliver to their best to their customers. Both of them call Sunset Park their home and consistently show it in their service to the community. They are of the type who will listen to your feedback and improve their quality of work. Big up to them! Their food items, while a small offering, is very good when compared to other budding coffee shops. Give them time and they’ll expand their options but their mainstay is their coffee. As alluded to before, their coffee is good and it gets better with every visit! The taste is better than the other nearby coffee shops, certainly better than the nearby Dunkin Donuts! Now a note to some to some of the people who are calling foul because of an alleged gentrification problem in the neighborhood. Presumably the people making these outlandish claims are the same folks who have not set foot in any other business in Sunset Park and when something out of the ordinary comes around, they cry foul. In doing so, the basis of their claims lie on one of two things: haters being haters and ignorance. Both of these do not have a leg to stand on and heeding their cries is futile. With that said, these claims are rebutted by pointing out that Sunset Park is going through unprecedented change demographically, economically and Parkette is good evidence of that. If haters don’t like it, they can continue drinking their cotton candy coolatta at DD. As mentioned before, Parkette is evidence of a changing times and with that comes business and people who seek to thrive where it was thought impossible. Years ago this venture would have been fruitless but now an opportunity has come for people like Jeremy and John display their passion for coffee all while constantly expanding their support for the neighborhood and small business. So far, it is leading the charge as a solid place to come and hang out.

What a great addition to Sunset Park, the neighborhood i grew up in. Great coffee and service! People should stop projecting their anger towards gentrification on to a business that EMPLOYS(and by so doing helping) people of the neighborhood. If you have a problem with gentrification get informed and find out how to really make a change. Writing bad Unilocal reviews is petty.

I was excited to have a coffee shop near the park. They have average coffee with park slope prices. Nothing spectacular! Even the sandwiches are way over priced. Never tried their baked goods, but if it is from Colson, then Meh!

I love this place! Best coffee in the area(Stumptown) and the baristas are all great. Definitely recommend the cold brew and it’s not a bad spot for a few hours of work on a Sunday :) There’s an adorable kids area and it can get busy but it’s never been bothersome for me. Worth checking out on the way to an amazing view up the hill at Sunset Park.

Stumptown in Sunset Park! Absolutely flawless coffee service, these guys really know their stuff — and the pastries and sandwiches are delicious. Probably my favorite of Sunset Park’s three new coffee shops for sitting and watching the world go by!

Came here during my morning walk around the neighborhood, read some Unilocal reviews before heading to this coffee shop. Once inside, the atmosphere is family friendly, and also with a hipster vibe. The guy behind the counter was very nice and polite, gave recommendations as to what drinks was his personal favorite. I ended up going with his choice of the Chai Latte with extra cinnamon, and a Mocha donut. The latte tasted good with the cinnamon adding an extra flavor, and the Mocha donut also tasted fresh. Price is moderate latte and donut $ 6.50

I’m sitting in here while writing this review. Parkette is a great addition to Sunset Park; bringing Stumptown coffee and Dough doughnuts to the neighborhood. With its circular marble tables on the side with a larger community table in the back, this is a great place to get work done(Did I mention outlets and good wifi as well?) The owner is really nice and tries to talk to his customers and get to know them. I appreciate that. With all the suck up coffee shops we encounter in New York, some personal interaction isn’t bad. This has become one of my favorite places to get work done on the weekend. I have not tried their food but they do have quiches, sandwiches and pastries if you’re looking for a quick meal.

This new, yuppie spot is still new so they don’t have a lot of options. I had a baguette sandwich which was prepackaged(for some reason, I thought it was freshly made) but it was rather tasty. It left me feeling hungry still but I didn’t want to get another one since I was in the mood for my Island blast smoothie from Don Pepe. Hopefully, they will expand their menu in the future.

Spent a couple of hours here yesterday. Had black tea(English breakfast? Can’t remember) and a gluten free apple scone that was really fantastic. All this while snow was falling outside to the sound of the beach boys and Bön Iver. If you’re staying inside they give you proper cups and teapots and plates. Baristas are really great and seem to have a good relationship with locals. I rarely get excited about coffeehouses in the US but this place is a real gem. There are toys and books in the back for people with kids. There were mix of diners working on their computers, reading books and socializing with friends.

Food: they have Dough doughnuts! The main reason I give 4 vs 5 stars is they were out of 2⁄4 sandwiches when I came in… They have assorted pastries and bagels but would like to see them expand on the food, breakfast sandwiches maybe. Coffee(stumptown) and lattes are good Service: both baristas were very friendly Ambience: a good spot to get some work done in sunset park… Small individual tables, homey feel

This Café is beautiful and coffee is insanely good!!! I never leave disappointed, the Baristas are amazing and put a lot of effort in making sure their Coffee/Espresso is perfectly balanced. Great job Parkette!
