I can’t recommend DJMAC enough. I first saw him perform at the Jazz Age Lawn Party where he had the whole crowd interested and engaged. I asked him to be a part of our wedding which proved to be a really great decision. He took care of the music for our cocktail hour and reception with ease. He read the energy of the room and kept everyone up on their feet. You won’t find anyone more knowledgeable about the music of the 1920’s and 1930’s, and his record collection is overwhelming. He was also impressively able to switch to more contemporary music for the later part of the night, and kept everyone dancing until the lights came on. BOOKHIM! You’ll enjoy the process from the initial emails to the night of your event.

This guy’s GREAT! I don’t even know how you’d compare him to anyone else in New York – or ANYWHERE – since his entertainment is utterly unique(and the New York Times seems to agree!). If you want to make your event something ‘extra-special,’ look no further. Professional, friendly, fun, easy to work with – and VERY knowledgeable about music – BIG thumbs-up to PHONOGRAPHDJMAC!

I would heartily recommend Michael as an emcee and DJ. He did a fantastic job doing both at our wedding here in New York. Our guests loved his phonographs and enjoyed getting photographed with them. They fit in perfectly with our wedding, which took place at Housing Works Bookstore. Michael did a great job of mixing his own music, both some older music and more modern, and he knew how to change the tempo and type of music according to the moment. He managed to get everyone out on the dancefloor and really helped shape the evening as an emcee. He was able to switch also between our music and his own and took our suggestions and ran with them, as well as a special playlist I developed for the dinner part of the evening. We’ve seen him DJ at a number of other events, too. He always dresses the part, as well, looking very dapper alongside his phonographs!
