I do not often write Unilocal reviews. I actually find Unilocal totally distasteful as a service. However, this Popeye’s location is actually paradise. So. It deserves 5 goddamn stars even if I have to stoop to using Unilocal to make that known. Go ahead and take that down, TEAM.

If chicken is one of the most favorite piece of meat you love, then Popeyes’ is the place for you. Every now and then when I don’t feel like frying chicken, I take my HAPPY self to Popeyes’. I luv the spicy chicken, biscuits, rice and beans and cajun fries! Great service ! I like the deals they tend to have especially when you have a BIG family to feed ! The DEALSWORKSOUTPRETTYWELLFORYOUR $$ Not a fan though of the hanging around in front of the rest. Some people feel the need to open the door for you for a hand out. Everyone is trying to survive, work HARD for their $ and nobody has any extra in this time and day to be giving away $$

This is by far one of the best Popeye’s. The food is always fresh and hot. When I’m in the area i make it a point to grab a take out order. The staff are friendly and the service is very fast. I like the fact that the soda fountain is located behind the counter which prevents people from the outside with touching the machine. The place is clean.

You ever feel like you walk into a place and they hate you? Yeah this place was worse. If I could do a 0 I would do a –5.

I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 12 years and tonight was the first time I stepped inside this Popeyes! The elder gentlemen working at this place are hilarious! Great attitudes! Keep in mind that I was here at around 11pm on a Saturday night. Working in a fast food restaurant from my experience when I was 16 years old, your attitude tends to not be at it’s prime given the time and date. However, these guys were so great in the less than 5 mins I was there, I had to write a review. Their witty humor and super fast service and communication toward each other will definitely have me return to this Popeyes again! :) This Popeyes also has an A rating, looked pretty clean from what I can see and pretty busy!

I love this place ! I come here literally 5 times a week. Great food and great customer service ! The signature dipping sauces are awesome. Convenient, its RIGHT infront of you once you step out of the J/M Myrtle Ave subway station. When you come theres always going to be a bum holding the door open for you to walk in, and as you leave he will ask you for compensation for his services. Enjoy !!

When all the cards are down, all hope lost, all self-dignity robbed barren and not a cent left to pay for one square foot of rent you, the Poseidon of Fast Food Poultry, emerge from the deep-fried depths of the hot sauce ocean atop a five dollar hydra of drumsticks and batter to rescue those who cannot rescue themselves. Self-loathing thy name is Popeye’s Chicken & Biscuits.

This Popeyes is great. Foods the best. As good as Popeyes can be I mean. And the customer service is top notch. They have never effed up out order and its open late. Love the murals on the inside. Great to look at. And the bums asking for change outside are friendly too. They almost always get the door for you and the disappear when it comes time to give the change on the way out. Also open very late. Til four or something on weekends. Highly recommend this place compared to Kentucky Fucked Chicken down the street which gets 1 star ! Enjoy!

Jamaican girls working the registers are very nice here if you don’t act a fool. There’s the obligatory guy that’ll hustle you for change every time you’re in there. Even though the location seems sketchy, service is really good. Eat fast die young

When I first moved to Brooklyn a few years ago, I moved down the block from this Popeye’s. There were not too many spots to eat in the neighborhood, besides this Popeye’s. Luckily, Popeye’s is far and away my favorite fast food chain. And this particular location is POPPIN’! The chicken is always hot and fresh– they are busy ’round the clock The staff is ONPOINT, I also love how this location permanently has a neighborhood man stationed at the front of the restaurant, opening the door for every customer(tips are greatly appreciated, of course). It’s too bad I didn’t do Unilocal Check-In’s while I was living in this neighborhood, I would have totes been ‘The Duke’.

This place has that oily chicken, them crispy ass biscuits, even Big Puns(RIP) adult diapers would quivver at the site of the glistening large sides. You take a bite into this chicken and your pupils will dilate. I know a bunch of yall people saying«this is bad for you», but I’m talking right now so don’t interrupt me, because interrupting me woud be considered rude, and if you’re rude to me then you should know that is also detrimental to your health, most likely more immediately. So continuing, you can eat like 4 biscuits drenched in gravy. I like to glaze them in hot sauce in a bowl and forget about them til the middle of the night while I got a Swisher Sweet hangin’ off my lip and I stumble into the kitchen with my doo rag on rapping to Wu-Tang Clan after lifting weights and having oily movie sex on leopard skin sheets and just going hog wild on some young filly I met at a cookout and I’m like«oh f*ck it’s like I just went to Popeyes though.» I am currently the Duke of this place. Please stop speaking ill of it. It provides sustenance for my neighborhood and also chicken has a lot of protein in it too.

This is my local Popeye’s, and I’m fan — when I’m hungover at 2 in the morning. It’s got friendly staff, and the radio belts out pop hit after hit. Buying fried chicken with mashed potato & gravy and coleslaw for about five bucks, to the tune of Ke$ha’s «Blow»(singing along encouraged) — what more could one want?

Yes Despite the homeless person who opens the door. I don’t see that everyday. I live in the area. I never had bad customer service at this place. THECHICKENISALWAYSGREAT!!! My godmother lives in NJ and says it’s the best(chicken she has eaten at any fast food place) Matter fact every time she comes to BK which is quite often she always get herself some chicken lol. The workers always are professional and smiling at you. The only rude people I’ve experience was the other people who stand in line with you to order. If you can by pass The person who stands at the door go for it. If you live in the area hey you can’t beat it this is the only place besides the local stores that’s open to get something to eat late. Don’t forget you see homeless people on the train and in the streets everyday. It’s NY thank God when you go to by ur chicken you are going to leave and go inside to your warm apartment ;)

Yes they’re open til 3 or 4 in the morning(one of the very very few things of the sort in this area), but the food isn’t that great and there are homeless men who expect a tip for pulling the door open for you.

Holy crap, I’m in love! I stumbled in, wasted, after a long night at a nearby club, not really very hungry, but needing something in my stomach to soak up all the booze to allow for a pleasant subway ride back home. Whoever says Bedford Stuyvesant isn’t safe has probably never actually been there, or perhaps I just got really lucky. It was 3AM on a Friday morning, I was way over-dressed, I was being loud and obnoxious, and my topics of conversation were mostly related to homosexual sex… If that’s doesn’t warrant negative attention, I don’t know what does! I got the $ 2.99 special. It comes with a couple pieces of chicken, a small side order, a biscuit, and a soda. But I said«instead of the soda, please just give me another piece of chicken. and instead of the side order, please just give me another piece of chicken. and instead of the biscuit, please just give me another piece of chicken. Please, please, please. Thank You!» I ended up with a box so full of fried chicken they couldn’t even close it: breast, thigh, two wings, and a drumstick for $ 3.25… and they didn’t even complain or charge me when I asked for about two dozen packets of hot sauce!

Granted, this is where I live. I live in the ‘hood. This location is right under the Myrtle Ave.(J, M, Z) subway station. The good? It’s open to 3−4am depending on the day of the week. The bad? Well there are always homeless dudes asking for money both here and the Dunkin Donuts right next door. Also, the same guys open the door for you and expect you to tip them. Last year’s conversation at this location: «Dude can you spare a dollar? Come on man, lemme get 2 dollars… in the spirit of Halloween!» Thanksgiving, maybe. But Halloween? Come on dude. Just last night I came fora late night snack… the girl behind the counter dropped my dipping sauce on the floor, and the proceeded to put it in the bag even after looking at me to see if I saw her drop it.

It’s open mad late, it takes cards and they conform to all the ridiculously cheap(for NYC) national offers(like 3 pieces of chicken for 2.99)… The quality of this national chain’s chicken really is a step above the local spots(JFK, Crown, etc.), but honestly fried chicken, who can eat this stuff more than once a week?

My very first Popeye’s. Back 2004, paying $ 420 for a tiny backroom in a dingy-ass Vernon Ave apt(we did have an illegal, non-city/state sanctioned«patio» on the building rooftop that seriously made up for all the muggings, slashed tires, and other various minor to major inconveniences), Myrtle Popeye’s, less than a stone’s throw away from the Myrtle JMZ stop, was one of my staple joints. Amid the constant hustles and schemes of Broadway and Mrytle one of the few dependable things was Popeye’s chicken and biscuits all hours of the day and night. Smiling face behind the bullet-proof glass, shooting some shit, steaming paper box full of chickens and biscuits, extra hot sauce, ringing gun shots down Murder Ave, grumbling JMZ trains above your head. .. oh, Bed-Stuy living. .. thank God it’s all in the past and I can reminisce about it fondly, now.
