The people here are perfect combo of total professionalism and museum quality work. It’s not cheap but the quality is top-notch and frames from many years still in mint condition. If you want to frame a cheap poster or get some paper cut go to kinkos. If you want something of value framed elegantly and protected for life come here. Plus they’re all very cool, kind and helpful with suggestions.

Pranayama is amazing. The work that they do is exceptional in quality and the thought they put into each job is astounding. Joanna, especially, knows everything there is possible to know about framing; she’s a pleasure to work with and can solve even the trickiest framing problem. As other reviewers have commented, they may look like a smaller operation from the outside but they frame work for some of the most important galleries in the city, so be sure to call ahead or email for an appointment. I can say from experience however, that they treat every job, whether for David Zwirner or a nobody like me, with equal care and attention. They very kindly did everything possible to help me keep costs down without compromising quality.

Warning — Like Art said, this isn’t a mom and pop operation. It is a small business, but they frame art for tons of galleries and museums, so their prices are set accordingly. Call first or email, as it’s by appointment only. I needed some art framed and they walked me though what would be the best option for my piece. I was so excited when I got the email saying it was ready. The framing was excellent, it definitely isn’t Ikea(which is good)!

Chauncey Z, they are a huge company that frames work of the biggest galleries in the city. They are not a mom and pop store looking for walk-ins off the street, especially cutting down a poster. I know that is a lot of money for a single cut, but you have to understand it’s just not worth their time. I believe Kinkos would better suit your needs

utterly disgusted by these people. i am looking to have a poster trimmed on ONE end but unfortunately don’t own a cutting board. The energy, skill and time it takes to do this consists of lining up a piece of paper along a ruled line, raising your arm to the handle and bringing the handle down. sure, they’ll do this. i wait 4 minutes on the phone for an estimate(this is not a guess, im looking at my phone record). she comes back and doesn’t seem to know what i’m holding for. when i remind her, she tells me that it will be FIFTEENDOLLARS to cut a piece of paper. I will never frame anything in this store and hope that this is read a million times. if you look at my other reviews, they are mostly 5 star. if i don’t like something but feel it’s personal or just not my taste or not harmful, i usually just dont review it. i’m not one of these people who just vent any sort of irritation on Unilocal but i hate when people take advantage of people to make a few extra bucks especially in a neighborhood store. i would have made this my framer and recommended them if they had only been somewhat fair and cared one iota about their customers. TERRIBLE. They should NOT be in business end of story. at the very least, they should not have a yogic reference as their name. should be called money grubber framing instead.

Pranayama saved the day this year and got my work to Nada overnight. Amazing !
