Joanes chose to do a short informational video about our program (the Harlem YMCA Literacy Zone) as a way to give back to the community. As a non-​profit community based program, our budgets are always very tight so we rarely can afford to have professional «marketing» materials made about our services, so we were thrilled when Joanes volunteered his skills and expertise.
As a filmmaker and videographer, Joanes was very meticulous and professional. He took the time to really get to know our program and the space. On the day of filming, he spent the entire day with our program staff and participants, conducting interviews and capturing our classes in action. Afterwards, he must have spent hours editing the video himself and putting the final product together, and the care he took really shows in the final product!
