This place has the best Chef in town. The bartender mixed up some fire cocktails as well.

A friend of mine brought me here after my own bar shift was over and this is definitely one of the best kept secrets in the neighborhood. She said to me that everyone she’s met there has always shown themselves to be good people, and I felt that vibe right away. The bartender, whose name I awesomely forgot because that’s what I’m good at, was friendly and made me feel right at home. I was not helpful when it came to choosing my beer, «Something not hoppy» is all I could muster and he gave me something delicious. The bar itself is beautiful, everything is reclaimed, hence the name. There’s a romantic, intimate, almost exotic feeling to the whole bar– but then it’s full of down to earth people and Sunday football. My life needs more of that. Edited to add: It’s also a great breakup bar, if you need a place to do that in. Just sayin ;)

Back to one star. Thought I’d give them another chance, but once again bartenders thought they were way to cool, took forever to serve us… When it wasn’t busy.

Admittedly, I’ve only been here once, but I was impressed with the prices and tasty drinks. It’s a nice, funky place inside and just far enough from the beaten path to feel neighborhoody and unpretentious. I tried each of their mason jar cocktails and they’re damn good, especially at the $ 5 happy hour price!

Last week was my big 3 – 0 bday and I decided that I wanted to pick a bar in Williamsburg(or East Williamsburg, whatever) to celebrate with 15 – 20 of my closest friends. I found Reclamation Bar and shot them an email on Thursday just giving the heads up that I’d be coming in the next day with a big group pretty early on. Kacie from Reclamation emailed me within 2 hours, offering to reserve a table and a slick ass throne seat for me to sit in. This bar is great, it’s music is low enough that you can actually talk with friends, the $ 5 happy hour mason jars are delicious and the bar itself is spacious and sleek. I really loved this place and how awesome the staff was. Seriously, I will be back for happy hour whenever I can.

Williamsburg, you must have too many bars. Otherwise, why would this place be empty during happy hour? Lots of space, $ 5 mason jar cocktails, a backyard and snacks like fancy grilled cheeses should all add up to crowds. The bar even somehow smells like a log cabin with a fireplace.(Speaking of fire, the habanero cocktail is deadly, even diluted to half-strength).

Loving the vibe of this bar. Been here on a Brokelyn book tour with friends and we’ve been having a good time! We’re here on the early side, so not sure what it is like late night but early evening it’s been a blast. Just got a coupon for checking in on Unilocal and our bartender just killed this perfect Manhattan. Great neighborhood bar and definitely worth checking out any night of the week!

I decided to give this place another go. It’s just so close to my apt… So much better this time! The bar tender was attentive and lovely. They have lowered the price of their drinks a bit and have some wonderful seasonal drinks. Way to go Reclamation!

Sometimes I don’t think a bar can possibly offer more. Reclamation continues to serve the most delicious, well crafted drinks this side of the east River and comes with a beautiful ambiance to boot. Hell, they even offer $ 3 Gennesee for your friends in need. The staff is for the most part, interesting and totally lovable. This place has something for everyone, Young and old, Rowdy and casual. As the French say, «Parfait»

The bar is great. The vibe is warm and friendly. Blonde bartender(Brittany I think her name is) is super warm and friendly and makes a killer drink. Every time I come here I feel invited and warm inside. All of the other bartenders are awesome too. It’s one of the only bars I actually enjoy when empty. I no longer go to harefield rd or Matt Torrey’s since I discovered this little gem. Okay you got me there — I still go to harefield to see John. One of the best bartenders ever.

Our bartender(short blonde hair) was repeatedly, ridiculously rude. One snarky, inconsiderate comment after another. On top of that she seemed completely hammered and barely functional. By this point, this place has been open long enough that I wouldn’t call it a kink so much as poor judgment. Can’t imagine ever going back to this place; not with Legion, Harefield Road, and Matt Torrey’s all being miles better. I’ll make the extra effort to cross Bushwick Ave. Not to mention opening at 4pm weekends, 6pm weekdays is pretty bizarre/inconvenient.

I’m happy to know that a bar in East Williamsburg has generated the heat it requires to stay open that takes credit cards, over and beyond friendly staff, and a warm and open décor that leaves you feeling comfortable and spaced out from the other group of friends that wants to drink with the intensity the bar requires. Let’s start with the drinks. There’s a bartender among all the pros here who crafts great cocktails, and s/he makes them taste wonderful. I had this pumpkin inspired one, and I literally thought it was a dessert. NO joke. S/he puts whipped cream on it! I literally drank one in a sitting where the bartender told me s/he recommended it, and I tried it, and then I finished it in two minutes flat. I don’t even have to mention their name to regulars here. They are known and rocking it out. Another aspect I enjoy is that when there a ton of people in the bar, everyone likes to talk to one another or they like to collectively chill and then converse with other groups. This makes for great networking and connecting with other people who want to connect in the hood(Williamsbirg-Bushwick-Greenpoint, etc.) I also appreciate the music. I am a General Manager of a restaurant, and when they have a great DJ or bartender who knows what they are doing music-wise, I tend to be sitting and thinking when one or two songs come up, «I’m going ot definitely play this song tomorrow in the dining room.» And I really do. Thanks, guys. Where have you guys been the past year? I hope Reclamation!

This place sucks worse than a pile of steaming dog poo. I have never ever been ignored by a bartender like I have at this place. I joined my friends who already had their drinks, grabbed a menu, made a selection and politely waited for the bartender. The bar was NOT busy at all. I waited a good 5 minutes and then started to wave to the bartender. Still no dice. He passed by me several times and each time, I tried waving and saying excuse me. Keep in mind I was sitting ATTHEBAR. I wasn’t trying to squeeze in behind a group of people. After 10 minutes my friends were annoyed too and we collectively started waving and shouting excuse me. A good 15 minutes later, he strolled over as though he just noticed us. Either he’s suffering from an acute case of stupidity or he’s a complete prick. Or both. The worst part is that he was just as bad when it came to ordering a 2nd round. Even managed to screw up my friends’ drinks making them the wrong thing. Eff this place.

My neighborhood go-to. I live across the street and Reclamation is the bar we frequent before going out on the weekends or just to grab a drink after work. The music and ambiance is always great. Discovered People Under The Stairs here(where have I been?) Very low-key and a great place to converse with friends. Seems it’s still trying to find it’s identity, but is definitely getting there. The bourbon and whiskey selection is great. Order a sazerac if you’ve never had one(or if you have!) They are one of the few places I know that knows how to make one and make it well. A great place to grab a couple of cocktails any night of the week. There’s no sign and the awning is bare metal. Don’t be discouraged as it’s part of the aesthetic.

I really want to like this place. It’s super close and has a cool design and layout. Unfortunately it’s one of the most inconsistent bars in the area for two reasons: 1 — quality of drinks and 2 — the music. Also taking away points for good food, but way too expensive for the amount of food you get. When the bar first opened, the owner made me a really amazing Old Fashioned. Since then, the same drink varied in quality. If I’m forking over that kind of cash for a drink — it should at least be consistent. It’s a not a dive bar. Then there’s the music… It’s ranged from too quiet to thumping rap or dup step(you might as well just ask us to leave). Let’s hope they at least stick to the same vibe of music or quality of drinks so I can decide if it will be my local go-to or not.

Ok, so a group of friends all arrived in NYC for a wedding and we choose this place for the unofficial welcome party. The staff were very chilled out, made their drinks strong without being overwhelming, solid beer selection(which I think they rotate), and very good toasted sandwiches. We had a big night, and hung around till about 3. The room is dark and charming, great ambience, and a beautiful bar which is apparently made from reclaimed wood. I’ll be back. Highly recommend. Would be good for a date as well. Or anything really.

The sandwich that was delicious with an extremely good flavor, I would say was the spicy turkey. Definitely I would come back here.

No thanks to a bar that provided 2 different menus with different prices during the duration of my stay. Following with«we would never have a beer that cheap» even though it is right there on the menu. Thanks for making me feel like a moron when you have the price right there on your now«obsolete» menu event though you’ve been open like 2 weeks. New menu is just same prices plus 1 – 2 more dollars on literally everything. Or having one bartender say credit is fine, and another say now it’s not. Or bartenders complaining how smug our neighborhood has become when their bars completely sums up what they’re talking about. Or saying«BLAHWEDONTCARRYXYZTHATISNTREAL. THISNEIGHBORHOODISGOINGTOHELLBECAUSEPEOPLEDON’T UNDERSTANDWHISKEY.» Bad bad bad vibes, nothing special about it in my opinion. Just walk a couple more blocks for something else.

Great new neighborhood bar. Have popped in a couple of times with friends, once on a Thursday and once on a Saturday night. Bar was busy on both nights — but didn’t have to wait too long to get drinks. Service was quick, friendly– unpretentious. Good beer selection and also had an excellent hot toddy. A friend ordered a roasted turkey sandwich which was really good– toasted with a spicy kick. Cool décor(stained glass windows) and relaxed vibe. They’ve got a small outdoor space which would be fun in the summer. Definitely planning to add to the regular rotation!
