I’d definitely go with a 5 star rating for this cosy deli style coffee-shop. Personnel is always courteous and polite even though they are often very busy. They offers variety of bagels, fresh coffee, panini and sandwiches at a standard for Brooklyn prices. Also, most Russian and Polish newspapers are sold there together with NY Times and NY Post.

I live down the block from these guys. Fresh bagels every morning. Delicious, large sandwiches that are super cheap. Awesome muffins and pastries as well. Good selection of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, snacks, and groceries. There’s a sitting area in the back but most days we prefer to take our sandwiches and drinks to the boardwalk, one block away. The iced coffee here is pretty good. The bathroom is dirty and marked employees only but everyone uses it. They turn oiff their grill at random hours every day so if you get there too late, no eggs for you sucker! They still have cream cheese, cold cuts and veggies though. The lotto machine is right by the door which can cause traffic jams going in/out, and the ice cream selection could be improved, but overall this is one of my favorite spots.

I had a fantastic Lox bagel here… it was half Lox and half cream cheese and the bagel was plump and fantastic. As they toasted my bagel I used all my strength to resist the freshly baked muffins and cookies that were coming out on metal trays and steamed up the clear plastic covers. As they prepared my breakfast, a woman shouted out customer’s orders in Russian. What a delight. This place was such a treat! I recommend! And all of this a couple weeks after Sandy! Glad to see them back in business so soon!
