I’ve only been in for breakfast. I always get salt fish and dumplings. It’s so good! The fish is well seasoned and flavorful. Half way through the meal I get full because they give such a big portion. 5 stars to them for this

1. Ordered about $ 20 worth of food and the food was pretty cold by the time I got home. I literally live 3 minutes away. When I go to Smokey Island Grille or whatever it’s called on Nostrand and Fulton the food is still hot when I get home which is an 8 – 10 minute walk. 2. The lady at the front desk always has an attitude or is unpleasant as if I’m charging her for a service when in reality she’s the one taking my money. 3. The employees whether it be the chef or the guy taking out the trash always seem unpleasant and looks at me as if I’m coming in to rob the place. If I wanted that I’d go to a diamond shop in Manhattan with a hood on and sharp object. I tried giving this restaurant chance after chance, but will not visit again. I’ll take the extra mile and go elsewhere.

Love their patties! I’ve had the chicken and the beef. The prices are not bad either. I cannot wait to try their other stuff. So lucky to have delicious food so close to home!

This place hasn’t been reviewed for a while but business is definitely healthy here — I was directed here the other day via word-of-mouth and people were going in and out as I arrived, both good signs. The women at the counter serve you pretty fast and efficiently. I was in and out in 3 minutes. I got the oxtail meal which comes with plantains, cabbage, and rice for about $ 10.50. The oxtails were delicious! Really great gravy and tender meat. Just not enough, and mostly bone, so next time I might get a huge thing of just oxtails. My to-go container was 2/3rds full of the rice, which was dry and undercooked so I didn’t end up eating much of it(well seasoned though, and nice with the gravy). The cabbage and plantains were both delicious — only 2 big slices of plantains though, another bummer. All in all Rowe’s makes good food at great prices, but you have to know how to order.

I went to the location because I have been looking for a great Jamaican restaurant. However, that is not what I received. I went onsite and asked for curry goat, I went ALL the way home and I received bland curry chicken instead! Of course, I called the location requesting they send me the corrected goat order and was told my location was to far for delivery. My issues are 1) they made the mistake, so a corrected order should have been sent to me ASAP2) my other issue is that perhaps if the counter person was not so distracted because she talking to her coworker, she would have been more on top of what I ordered. Instead, she was telling the coworker about how she doesn’t stay with her mom b/c she isn’t allowed to smoke and how in PA she needs a car, etc… Management needs to inform their employees about customer service, their is no reason why the delivery person couldn’t have brought me the corrected order.

Maybe I go too early but I’m yet to tatse a lunch here. The last time I was there they only had patties available. This time they had patties, ackee, saltfish and callalloo. I ordered one beef and one spinach pattie, tasted nice but it wasn’t the best I’ve had. I like my pastry dough rather flaky. Mind you it wasn’t bad. I’ll try stopping in after noon one day so I can at least sample their lunches. The End.

New to the hood, so to start off my rounds this was my first stop. The restaurant is cute, clean, and the staff was very pleasant and funny!

This jerk chicken is the best thing that has happened to me this week. Three pieces of perfectly seasoned chicken with a sauce that’s just spicy enough. It’s served with rice and beans, which is also delicious. Usually I just power through the carb dish so I can get to the entrée, but this is worth savoring. The steamed vegetables(cabbage and carrots, I think) are pretty good, as is the plantain. All of this, plus a drink, for only $ 6. You can’t beat it.

We were visiting from Chicago and our place was a block away. Wow! I wish I would have found this place earlier because I would have been back many more times. We had the Jerk Chicken– Very good, not very spicy, but my wife had the jerk sauce on the side. The Curry Goat which was delicious and nicely spiced. It was on the rice and peas which were also quite tasty. The star for me was the Oxtail Roti. The oxtails were superb. Super tender and seasoned perfectly. Along with the roti, it was very, very good.

Jamaican food and I will always have a love affair, I grew up on it and when I’m needing my fix — Rowe’s is the place to go! It’s also very close to my house, THANKFULLY. They never disappoint and are always fairly generous with their portions. Beware of peak times — afterwork, weekends as you may have to wait a bit but it’s worth it!

This is a split decision. The goat curry wasn’t all that interesting. It was surprisingly un-spicy. On the other hand, the jerk wings had an outstanding sauce that wasn’t like any other I’ve tried. I’m sure there are more technical terms to describe it but maybe lighter than the usual jerk sauce. I feel like the spices remind me of something I had in Indian food but I can’t figure out what. I hope to re-review this place. The menu has more variety than other similar steam table spots, with some seafood and vegetarian offerings.

I spent several years living in the Caribbean and have had my fair share of really really good Jamaican food. i have tried to replicate the experience in Brooklyn but somehow it never measures up — maybe it’s the water, maybe it’s the hormone injected chickens –not sure. But this place sure comes close and we now make it a twice monthly ritual to go here after earning our meal at the bed-stuy YMCA. They have a bunch of vegan options which is good since I am mostly not eating meat except when I cheat. The vedge stews are incredible and come with mounds of peas and rice and plantains. It’s tough to describe something that comes in such great quantities as delicate — but the stews are delicate and nuanced, every ingredient carefully selected. My kid gets the jerk every time, and I cheat the vegan thing and end up eating a good 25% of it — very very good jerk, not spectacular but very good. When I straight up cheat on my meal order I do the snapper. It’s a whole fish and is real snapper, no substitutes like you find many places, and it’s covered in fried and fruity goodness. Takes a bit of work picking meat off the bones for the uninitiated, but it’s well worth the effort. Snapper is a big thing in the islands and I can honestly say this is the best I’ve had. Also — get a spinach and a meat patty to start… another island standby done to perfection and probably a higher standard of quality than what you would find ‘down there’. Oh one last tip — drink one of the homemade carrot juices — but don’t plan on driving home right after — you’ll figure it out when you take that first sip. Love this place!!!

Not being a big fan of Carribean food… I HAVEBEENCONVERTED! We had the Jerk Chicken and Ox Tails. All of which were DELISH. Super flavorful, delicately tender and utterlly filling. Definately wouldn’t mind stopping here again!

The curry chicken plate with rice hits the spot! Good portions for what you pay. The restaurant is tidy and the staff is nice. Only been here twice, but I’m putting this on my list of regular spots. I found myself craving the food which doesn’t happen often as I’m a pretty picky eater.

I dig this place. I dont know much about Jamaican food but the chicken plate was damn good and whatever kind of stew they had that day was amazing. Ive been back a few times and it been consistantly good.

This is my new Jamaican spot on the block. It is definitely an improvement from the previous Jamaican restaurant that was in the same location. I am a fan of their curry goat, but you have to get there at just the right time, because they run out often. My second go-to dish is their oxtails. The only problem I seem to have, and I don’t know if I don’t speak loudly enough or what, but when I ask for them not to put gravy on my rice, I always end up with gravy on my rice! I’m also not a huge fan of their cocoa bread. I grew up on fresh baked cocoa bread, and theirs is not. Everyone in there is really nice. The restaurant is small, but they have a cute, clean dining area.
