Safelite AutoGlass

Excellent experience.
I was a little apprehensive using this Safelite branch due to the mediocre reviews on this page. Decided to go through with it anyway, and glad I did.
The appointment was scheduled for the following day. Despite getting a 5 hours window for the technician to arrive, he called me the morning of the appointment and gave me the exact time he will show up — and he was there right on time.
The technician (Ramon Rivera) was professional, courteous, and clearly knew what he was doing. He worked fast and he worked clean. An hour after arriving Ramon was done. Everything was to my complete satisfaction, including the price.
Wholeheartedly recommended.

My truck’s windshield was broken on a Thursday night, so I contacted Safeglass Friday morning on the internet. Filled out their forms, they said someone would come by and fix my glass between 1−5… 1 and 5? What is this? The cable company? I have work! So I waited. Then hours later, I get a call they cannot make it, don’t have my glass and the earliest appointment I can get would be late Monday. Very unprofessional. The administrator was so unprofessional on the phone the only 2 words I could understand were «yo» and «What you means». I told them to cancel my order and there better not be any strange charges on my card!
The commercials sound great, but in reality a very flaky company. You’re better off calling your local mechanic. They literally wasted my whole day.

Someone broke my aunt’s car window on Friday. I called and scheduled an appt for them to come and fix it through Allstate. She had to wait until today. They were supposed to come between 12 and 5. They called and said they were coming earlier. Them they called and said they can’t come because it might rain. They have no idea when they could reschedule. Or she could bring it in if she wants. The worst customer service and BOO to Allstate for recommending them. Its much better to use a local glass place — there are so many around here. These people don’t deserve your business.

Fantastic customer service. Very personable and quick with replacing my front windshield. It looks great and they took the care to remove all my stickers from the old glass to the new glass.
So far so good! It is actually cheaper here to get your glass fixed than other places that I’ve checked out.

Made appointment for 1:30, came on time and was told would take 1.5−2hrs. Came back 2 hours later and was told will take another 30min. Next day when snow started, I discovered that one of my wipers are not moving, the worker did not tighten the bolt when removing and replacing the wiper. When I called, there was no one to pick up the phone. Very poor service.

Nice place to replace your car glass! Nice service! The boss is very nice guy! He is so humorous! Just come u won’t regret!

My insurance company steered me here to have my broken windshield replaced. Safelite gave me an appointment the next business day, let me drop off my car in the morning and pick it up with the job done by the end of the day. The manager called me during the day to update me on the schedule, and the staff was very friendly. The windshield looks as good as new, the car was returned completely clean, and the work is guaranteed for the life of the car. My insurance company picked up the full tab because I had full glass coverage in my policy. I can’t imagine having a better experience at any other glass shop.

Excellent from start to finish. Prompt, professional, courteous, quick. Not many other service experiences compare, honestly.

While the call center was pleasant they didn’t deliver all the info. 15 minutes late and I was told that they would try to squeeze me in but that there were 18 spots ahead of me and those people would all have to go ahead of me. If I left I would lose my «place». They were rude, made up rules as I asked questions. So I called my mechanic and he suggested a place a block away. Pleasant, accommodating. LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE. Don’t depend on Safelite.

I’m leaving two stars since in general the service on the phone is nice and pretty helpful. Needed our windshield replaced, Geico covered it and recommended Safelite (I believe they have a deal — no problem with that). Safelite has mobile service for no extra charge, great! Guy came out, botched the job. Moulding around windshield looks terrible, two pegs at the base of the windshield ‘cowling’ were missing. One was MELTED TO THE HOOD. The other was gone. There was a rusty razor blade left under the windshield wiper. I called and told their nationwide operator the issue, she sounded horrified and sent a technician out in the next few days. When he got there he said he didn’t see anything wrong other than the missing pegs, but said he’d have to order those — despite the fact I specifically told the operator they were missing and got confirmation they would be replaced. Two weeks later another technician came out — the same guy who’d botched the job in the first place. He also couldn’t see, or wouldn’t see, the crooked moulding, or the flaps of rubber that were not flush to the glass. He did apologize about the razor blade. His only solution was to replace the whole windshield again with all new glass. We did not trust him to do a better job the second time, we did not think it was right to waste a perfectly good windshield, so he replaced the missing plugs and left.
I won’t deal with Safelite again and cannot recommend them.

I’m not sure why the ratings are so low for this Safelite, I found the whole experience to be pretty pleasant.
I was driving home from a wake, and I was pretty fed up with the world when on top of everything else, something small (some gravel, I assume) hit my windshield at top speed and put a dime-​sized crack in the glass. When I called my husband, he freaked out about the cost and hassle of. fixing it, so I braced myself for the call.
It turned out that the process of calling to make the appointment was quick and easy, and both the Safelite employee and the Geico representative who took my claim were extremely polite and professional. Safelite repairs smaller than a dollar bill are covered in full by Geico and a few other insurance companies. I was able to get it fixed at no out-​of-​pocket cost! I was able to make an appointment for the next day.
When I got there, the Safelite employee who helped me was very professional, and explained the process as well as the risks. He told me it would be finished in 30 – 45 minutes, and would give me a call when it was finished. However, about an hour later, I still hadn’t received the call, so I headed back to the shop. It turns out that he had decided to run the process a second time because the crack hadn’t completely disappeared. Originally, I had planned to take an extra star off for the extra time, but the crack was virtually invisible as a result of the extra time. I gave it back.
I’d recommend this Safelite to anyone in the area!

Had to replace a side mirror to pass NY inspection. Called Safelite on Fri evening and scheduled an appointment for Sun morning at 8 am. Guy on the phone told me the required glass was a common part and would be in stock at the location. Wasn’t a fan of waking up so early on a Sun, but that was the only time that really worked so I sucked it up. I drove over from Staten Island bright and early on Sun morning, arriving right on time at 8 am. Unfortunately, no one arrived until 8:20, and they didn’t even apologize for their tardiness. To make matters worse, I was then informed that the glass had not arrived yet and there was no way they could fix my mirror. These guys didn’t even have the courtesy to call me and tell me not to bother coming. Shame on SafeLite for their disorganization and lack of respect for their customers.

My insurance company recommended this place, after years of seeing all the friendly commercials, I gave it a shot. Well I had a broken windsheild, I made an appt over the phone for work to be done saturday. Well saturday came, and I took off work that day, and drove my car in for installation, they said they ordered the wrong windsheild. Pissed as I was already losing a days work I agreed to make another appt for next saturday, again taking off another days work. Now I called up this place a day before the install to make sure the correct windsheild came in, the manager, very nice guy, said yes we have the correct one, I said ok great see you tomorrow at 9 am. I drove in at 9, they pulled out the windsheild and the worker noticed a large gash on the glass. I calmly walked into the waiting area as the frantic manager grabbed the phone to make his calls. He said the delivery guys had to break it and they cant get another one till monday. I told him to forget it Ill go someplace else this is ridiculous, whos gonna pay me my lost two days!
I took my car over to 2 Hour Auto Glass which is located at 132 19^th street off 3^rd ave in Brooklyn, with no problems at all, they installed my cars windsheild in less than 1 hour. Shame on Safelite, Ill never recommend them and I’m sorry I even wasted my time. This is not over, even if I had my windsheild replaced by real professionals, Im going after them for loss of work on their behalf

Never been to any other glass repair shop so I have nothing to compare it to.
Workers look reluctant to help, stay quiet, don’t engage in a simple ‘hello, how are you?’. Plus they didn’t vacuum ALL of my glass from the car.
Whatever, they got the job done.

Our car was damaged in the Sandy storm. So, we called around to get the windshields replaced. We called Safelite as one of many that we contacted. Was asked for my credit card when booking the appointment — which raised some obvious alarm. The man who took my call assured me that we would not be charged. So, we went ahead and booked an appointment for 6 days out. Lo and behold, the money was immediately removed from my account! It was a «ghost swipe», but nevertheless the money was removed from my account. Definitely stay away from them… shady practices all around. We went with a local provider and saved nearly $ 400 (Safelite was going to be TWICE as much).
