Very nice place for lunch, the service is very fast and the food are super fresh, I personally recommend the sashimi

Ordered a lunch bento box and I must say I’m not happy. First off. teriyaki salmon had no teriyaki on it and one piece of brocoli. They only give you 1 soy sauce when I asked for more she wanted to charge me $ 1. The amount of Wasabi they put on the plate for for ants! I have been coming here for years but probably won’t return. I get it they want to save money but loosing a customer will not help you with that.

I truly love this place. I probably eat from here about 6 – 7 times a month. It’s super clean and the staff is very friendly. Great atmosphere for a date or dinner with friends. Their stir fry ramen and Tokyo shrimp are to die for. Keep up the good work Sakura.

I had such an awful experience with the person(Cashier?) that picked up the phone that I felt compelled to leave them this review! Called them during lunch time to place order for 3 lunches. After I hung up, I realized the prices were way higher than what I expected, and called them back to double check, and make sure my order was off the lunch special, and not the regular prices, and this is where the Cashier got extremely rude with me. I asked him if my order was off the lunch special, and he said«no! you didn’t say lunch special so its the regular menu!» So I said, «oh. okay, can you please switch it to the lunch menu?» and I got this response«NO! Its too late! The order is already done!» I, calmly said«Sir, there is no need to raise your voice and yell at me.» and he said«I am not yelling! It’s very busy here! Cannot change!!» Then I said, «Okay, then what if I want to cancel?» Him: «You want cancel? Then I will cancel the order!!» Me: «So, I cannot change the order, but I can cancel the order? Then I’ll just cancel, and make another another under the Lunch Special price» Him: «No! If you cancel, then NOORDER! SO? CANCELORNOT??» Me: «Can I please speak to your manager?» Him: «NO! No manager here! You want the noodles or not???» Me: «Okay, I’ll keep the order. 45 minutes right?» Him: «Yes. Bye!!» The noodles arrived in an hour and 15 minutes. If he had been nicer, I wouldn’t even had been as upset and would leave the order as-is. Besides, shouldn’t it be his job to make sure whether or not any orders placed during lunch time is for the lunch special pricing? Side note, they did not put in the free California roll as advertised on the menu for orders over $ 35(which they used to do). Our order came to over $ 45. We used to love ordering from this restaurant because the prices were fair and the employees were generally friendly. From time to time, we would place big orders for the company. However, after this experience, we’ll be order our lunches from elsewhere.

God awful customer service. Ordered delivery and they didn’t send half of the order and said too bad they were busy. We paid 60 dollars and only got 30 dollars worth of food. We waited an hour for delivery. I asked him to send the other half and he said no because he was busy. Then I asked for the money back and he said no. And then was hung up on. Never again. Can not believe with all the competition in NYC that they can stay open.

I haven’t even eaten my delivery yet. I had such a bad experience with the delivery itself that I’m here writing a review, because even if the food itself is made of unicorns and rainbow magic, it won’t redeem it. I was on my way back to my apartment itself in my building when I got a call from the delivery person. Since I wasn’t IN my apartment, I asked if he was outside the building, in the lobby, or outside my apartment. I couldn’t hear what he said so I asked him to repeat himself. It became a phone tag of him calling me, and the restaurant calling me. When calling the restaurant back, I just got a busy signal or this SCREECHING like it was a fax number. I got a hold of the delivery man and he just kept on screaming, «I AMHERE. I AMHEREEEEEEEE.» I got back to my apartment and he wasn’t outside. See, usually deliveries are to people’s apartments themselves. So I said I was in Apt XX, or if I should go downstairs. He kept on bellowing, «I AMINTHELOBBY.» Uh, why would you go as far as delivering it to the library then decide to quit and not deliver it to the apartment? So I walk to the elevator, and the delivery man was in it. He gave me a death glare, THRUSTTHEBAGINMYHANDS, clucked his tongue, muttered something, snatched the signed delivery paper from me, and went back into the elevator. Worst. Delivery. Ever. Never. Ordering. From. Here. Ever. Again.

I came here for the lunch special, which is a great deal! There were several different options that looked amazing from the Bento Box meals but settled on tempura shrimp & veggies. The shrimp was large and delicious and I liked the assortment of vegetables. The meal also came with soup, california rolls, little dumplings, and rice. A very full meal. I was definitely satisfied.

Pretty rude restaurant honestly. Went here to pick up a dinner special– they gave me the wrong order. Then they asked me to come back and get the«right order.» So, I begrudgingly come back for the right order since I don’t live far. Turns out, I made a simple mistake on Seamless and even after coming back, they wouldn’t do me the favor of giving me what I intended to order. Moral of the story: go to Wasabi down the street. Much better food and service.

Whenever I am in Greenpoint visiting my sister I order in from Sakura 6. I am a loyal customer for the sole reason of how good their lunch special is. Three rolls and a soup or salad all for $ 14. However, I do love to dip my sushi in eel sauce, and they charge a dollar extra for a side of it, even though most restaurants don’t. I always get either spicy tuna, spicy Salmon, salmon and mango or the eel avocado roll as a part of the lunch special. Last time I got the spicy tuna it was a little too spicy, and was an odd red-orange color. I most recently got the spicy salmon roll which was much better and crunchy. The mango in the salmon mango roll is always ripe and delicious as well. The biggest downfall of Sakura 6 is the service and delivery. The service is very hasty and have hung up on me once, and forgot that I was on hold another time. Additionally, although seamless says 30 – 45 minutes for delivery, expect to wait at least an hour and fifteen for the food. Though, delivery times have been inconsistent and once I received a speedy delivery. Sometimes when things are super cheap, you have to be skeptical… but it is good it exists.

My favorite sushi place in Greenpoint! They also received a critics pick from NY Mag– I believe the only restaurant in Greenpoint that has that so far. The lunch specials are extremely affordable and they give you so much food! I usually go for dinner and end up getting a bento box and sushi– more than enough for 2 people. No complaints– definitely would recommend to those in the neighborhood!

meh. whoever recommended the tofu teriyaki… why would you lead me astray?!? the tofu was too soft and turned to mush in the syrupy sauce(should’ve used extra firm tofu). the appetizer of super-salty miso soup broth(barely any tofu or seaweed) definitely foreshadowed my sub-mediocre dining experience here. BUT who knows… maybe their sushi really is great? p. s. i wasn’t even offered the free sake everyone on here goes on and on about :(

Ugh I wrote a lengthy review and Unilocal froze or something and it didn’t get saved. The worst. Essentially, Sakura 6 is great! I came here for a birthday party on a freezing night and they were so accommodating and nice, even when I’m sure our big group was annoying. The place has a really cozy vibe: Christmas tree lights, exposed brick walls, toasty heat turned on high(can you tell it was a cold night?). There’s also free sake with any orders over $ 10, which is crazy. We definitely took advantage, but the food is also a great deal. They have a special of three rolls for $ 12 or something, and the portions weren’t small. Most people actually left food on their plate. It came with miso soup or salad, and while I skipped the salad, the soup was fantastic! It was piping hot but also very umami-savory with lots of scallions and miso. Definitely a cut above most places that are more expensive.

Here is my original review… **** The sushi is good. The tempura terrific. lovely décor. Perfect service. And did I mention free sake?! Who could ask for anything more? I had to bump it up a star because of the ridiculous… and few… one star reviews. Personal vendettas don’t belong on Unilocal!This place is stunningly good for the neighborhood and it’s prices! If you have a bad experience one time… or with one server… The restaurant business is tough there has to be some lee way! I LOVE this restaurant!

Ordered the Crunchy Spicy Tuna roll and Spicy Lover roll.(Spicy Lover– spicy crunchy tuna topped with spicy crunchy salmon and wasabi caviar on top). What can I say, I really like spicy tuna and you cant go wrong with a sprinkling of tempora flakes! The presentation was well done and size-wise definity on the larger side. I finished my beer and both rolls and frankly was stuffed. Wished I’d doggy bagged 2 pieces to eat later versus stuffing myself. Waitress was all thats required, not that theres much needed but to refill water and bring the check. I could have gotten free hot Sake(available FREE with $ 10 order, dine-in only), but opted instead for a beer as it was decently hot outside. Be sure to ASKFORFREESAKE if thats your thing, they will NOT ask you if you want it.

I don’t know of much better sushi roll deals in NYC: three rolls for 12 bucks and soup or salad. The free sake if you spend over $ 10 is a nice gesture although the sake does taste like its free. It’s definitely not an authentic Japanese restaurant and is run by an all-Chinese staff – at least in the front of the restaurant – but the rolls are sufficiently tasty and the price is right. I’ve never ordered anything else off the menu and from the looks of their other offerings, I’d advise sticking with the rolls. Also, go for the miso soup, not the salad. The ginger dressing they put on is really not«oishi.»

I had to bump them to 5 stars. The sushi I’ve been regularly ordering for the last month(delivery) has been outstanding. Huge cuts of very fresh fish. The tuna I just had was better than I’ve had at much pricier sushi spots. It was so red, and tender and perfect. The salmon was buttery and not fishy at all. All in all perfect chefs choice sushi entrée. Earlier this week I ordered two entrees a soup and salad and they threw in extra California rolls that all had super fresh buttery avocado. They deliver in less than 20 minutes too! I can’t say enough positive things after what I just had. :) they also wrap everything immaculately and the presentation shows their attention to detail.
