Fresh, delicious sushi with an incredible menu selection. 4 stars because they’re chicken wing appetizers are awful — just big, hard pieces of dough with over fried chicken inside lol(just eat the sushi/sashimi, don’t risk it with any hot items — except for the garlic broccoli which is pretty nice). The staff is very kind, the prices are right. Definitely my goto for sushi and sashimi whenever I’m in the area.

I have been going here for lunch as oft as not, and I usually stick to the lunch menu. I love their Salmon Hibachi, a pleasant change from their hand rolls. Also, their miso soup is the only miso I’ve tried and loved. Some appetizers, like the Gyoza or Garlic Broccoli, really stand out. Definitely gonna be a repeat customer here though I would NOT order for delivery as I think their menu is a tad confusing(especially if you don’t get Japanese food often) and their hand rolls are full price, instead of half off(a daily special they have for sit in.)

I’ve been looking for a good sushi Japanese place since I’ve been at New York Methodist hospital and this place fits perfectly for me. Atmosphere is nice and quiet and it is kept clean. Food is pretty good here and the combo lunch specials are excellent. However my only thing would be the price of the drinks, feel like it’s a little too pricy for a basic everyday drink to be $ 3, especially $ 3(that’s just me). Other than that, no complaints food was very good

I work down the block so we are always ordering from them for dinner. The food isn’t so bad but the last time I ordered they forgot to put a roll in the bag. I called them and the lady on the phone spent 10 min fighting with me about how the roll is there and they won’t bring me another one. They also refused to give the money back. They were extremely rude and I don’t think I’ll be coming back there again.

Eh… I don’t know why I didn’t trust my gut on this one, but after years of living in this hood and all of these decent reviews, I decided to get some takeout. Ordered the tri-color sashimi, which comes with 3x salmon, tuna and yellowtail sashimi and a rainbow naruto roll(no rice, wrapped in cucumber) and choice of soup or salad($ 18). The salmon was yummy, the tuna was chewy and still a little frozen and the yellowtail was straight up yellow around the edges and generally questionable. All slightly smelly(not good). The naruto roll was tasty and the miso soup was piping hot. With much better sushi options in the area, I don’t think I’ll be back.

Affordable, delicious and fast! On a lunch break and this place did not disappoint. The servers were attentive. I had a couple of rolls which were pretty good. Nothing to complain about. I also had a kani salad which was great because most places usually drench it in mayonnaise. Will be coming here more often for sure.

You got to try the beef negimaki bento box complete with California roles shrimp and salad or soup if you choose. However the appetizers are small and over priced.

This places makes wonderful sushi, especially for the prices. It always tastes very fresh. I don’t need all the fluff you get at so many places these days, just gimme some beautiful raw fish in a simple roll. If you order off the part of the menu that 2.75/roll you can get a nice amount for such a small price. These aren’t big, I can eat 3 easy, but that’s ok since it’s so inexpensive! LOVE the spicy salmon hand roll, so full of beautiful salmon. My boyfriend loves the spicy crunchy taco roll. The sashimi lunch is another fav.

I come here for my sushi needs. They have several types of sushi, but I stick to the«basics» aka the ones I usually order. I order the spicy shrimp roll, spicy salmon, eel(occasionally) and boston roll. The spicy shrimp roll is terrific, while the spicy salmon and boston roll are pretty good. Honestly, the eel roll isn’t that good to me.(I’ve had eel rolls elsewhere that were better). Anyway, this place satisfies my sushi cravings, so I’d recommend.

Very nice lunch bento boxes. Duck fried rice is good if you want to spend the $ 15. If not everything else is priced well.

This is definitely my go to sushi spot in the neighborhood. The sushi is always fresh! The prices can’t be beat! I can literally order 3 rolls and an appetizer for under $ 20. I also love that they remember my sauces(eel sauce, spicy mayo, & saracha) and automatically bring them to me as soon as they see me. I love that they offer to make all my rolls with soy paper since I’m not a fan of seaweed. I guess I come pretty often for them to remember but it’s nice to feel welcomed like that. I’ve had basically every roll on the menu and haven’t had anything that I didn’t like. For a small little spot in Park Slope I definitely recommend coming here!

I got the lunch special chicken teriyaki and I was actually looking forward to a delicious meal. I disliked the salad, it was not good at all. The miso soup was not tasty either. The chicken though, was probably the only thing I liked. The carrots and snowpeas that came with my lunch special was cooked and extremely disgusting, I like my veggies fresh and uncooked! My boyfriend had the sashimi lunch special, which he didn’t complain about so I guess that’s one good thing about this place. The service was ok, can’t complain. I think the only plus about this place is that it’s affordable sushi but I wouldn’t recommend coming here.

Savory sushi at great prices. I usually get a Spicy Crunchy Tuna Roll with a glass or two of red, occasionally polish off the meal with some sake.

Very affordable for the location. The sushi they served was pretty fresh. The service was good as well. I would highly recommend the salmon skin handroll(yummy!!!) I would not recommend the spicy king crab roll as all you taste is the fried crush and not much of the crab. Another thing I tried was the grilled squid. I was not a big fan of it as I’m not a great fan of the ginger flavor. décor: 4⁄5 food: 3.5÷5 service: 4⁄5 FYI: This place is chinese-owned. But who cares as long as they serve good sushi for such a low price.

Rolled in here one night while a storm raged. But yet I did not know of the raw fish storm that raged in Shin Ju. Let me tell why this is a storm you want to be caught in: — The fish I ate was so fresh I looked low and high for the stream from which it came — I have a friend who eats naught but chips, and next time I sup here, I will let him meet a crunch roll. He does not like to leave the house but I will lure him out with a six pack of coke — The girl who brought forth my fish must have been a track star — My purse still had heft when I left Let me tell you why this is a storm you DONOT want to be caught in: — If you hate fun

Lunch specials galore! $ 8 Lunch bento box? Who ever heard of that in Park Slope? The staff was quite friendly and took good care of us with a smile. The lunch portions are quite large and we were stuffed(I should have taken some home with me instead of chowing down on it all at once). I enjoyed a ginormous chunk of salmon with teriyaki, sticky rice, salad with ginger dressing, California roll, and shumai. All were prepared quite well and high quality. The shumai just melted in my mouth and the salmon was quite solid(like a steak). The sauce wasn’t overwhelming either. I also tried some of my wife’s maki special and the sushi was good as well. When I’m looking for a lunch spot, this is it! I am looking forwards to coming back :)

I really enjoyed my meal here. The food was fresh and quick. The service and prices were good. Sashimi and sushi were fresh, the rolls were all good, and the fried ice cream was delicious. The only thing I didn’t really like was the teriyaki sauce on the grilled squid. It was just a little too much but the squid was cooked perfectly. I will definitely be back.

Whenever I go to sushi restaurants, I immediately always head for the specialty rolls because I usually only like the baked stuff. At this place, though, some of the rolls were sooo cheap that I didn’t think twice about NOT ordering the $ 12-$ 13 specialty rolls. Fast service, cheap but quality sushi, and walking distance makes this place a definite go to for my sushi cravings while I’m in NY :)
