Its a small but friendly laundromat. I’ve used their pickup services and have done laundry there many times. Clothes come back fine. Including my work and my baby’s clothes. It can get overcrowded so plan accordingly. The staff are awesome. I always tip the girls. Only 4 stars because of the crowding issue but again try going on an off day. Oh yes and it can get hot in there. lol…

They changed my dryer settings from low heat to HIGH heat. All of my clothes shrunk and my boyfriend’s clothes shrunk so much that he could not wear it anymore. That cost a few hundred dollars to replace. If you are drying your clothes when it’s within an hour of their closing time, keep a close eye on your settings.

One justifiable splurge that I have allowed myself since moving to NY is having my laundry done by someone. While I have washers and dryers in my building, I feel like by the time I’m done with the quarter-starved machines, the price of doing my laundry is almost the same as taking it somewhere. So I’ve been dropping my clothes off at Soapy’s. The ladies are nice, the prices are very reasonable and your dirty clothes come back smelling delicious. In one sentence — Soapy’s makes me very happy!

If it were me, I would change the name of this place from Soapy’s Laundry Center to Soapy’s Choice. I intentionally packed light for my trip to the Paradise that is Brooklyn because every fucking airline today likes to levy a checked bag fee to financially challenged Americans. Don’t tell me about Southwest Airlines. They suck. Pros: –Coins, not cards, are needed for washing your garb –Close to the friends’s place. So close that a car isn’t needed. Cons: –This place is hecka small –Small amount of machines. More dryers than washers if I remember. –Only open til 9pm M-F. Why not 24 hours? –When all of the dryers are operating at the same time, Florida in the middle of the summer is cooler than this place –25 cents for 7 minutes while using a dryer. It is a New York thing.
