I asked my daughter to purchase flounder for me at this store. It was certainly not flounder. When she called to say it was not flounder, they responded that the flounder came in «thick» 2lbs of flounder = two fillets? No way and it didn’t taste like flounder either.

The fish is absolutely fresh and delicious. The owner is a lunatic. I have been buying there for years but the policy has changed and now they dictate how much fish one has to buy. The owner won’t cut filet of sole or lemon sole or Chilean bass for example, so if I only need one portion or ½ lb., he insists that I buy the whole fish because he claims he can’t sell the «little piece left over». I didn’t realize that a half pound of fish is a little piece. In my world it’s one portion. If you’re buying for a family you can deal with his dictatorial policy. If you need a single portion, this isn’t your place unless you want to freeze the fish.

This place has pretty decent fish… sometimes I doubt that everything is really fresh though.
I know that they deliver but I’m basing the fact that the store is usually empty that their turnover isn’t soo much. And when it comes to seafood it can be a little sketchy.
The store is a little old, but the workers are really nice and try to help you as best they can. If I’m throwing a kosher dinner party, I deffinitely always go here, and also theres another place on ave U some street between Nostrand Ave and Bedford.

Place was convenient, next to another supermarket. I was looking for Salmon and they had some fresh pieces sitting on ice. had them wrap up a piece and it tasted very fresh and good quality

I go here all the time for fish. They have a wide variety, it is always fresh, and the owners and staff are friendly and helpful.
