I have never seen anything like this. I placed my order and it was $ 5 and change, I gave her a $ 50 bill she tells me that she has no change and if I had anything smaller. She then asked the«manager» for change, she told her no but I would have to spend $ 20 dollars so they can give me change back. Customer service these days sucks.

Starbucks. The coffee and food tastes … good. The establishment is kept clean and the clientele is inoffensive. I just can’t get too excited about this place. Completely normal. Too normal.

Only Starbucks ever to charge me 2.12 to use the restroom. A cup of coffee. So the bathroom door has a passcode. And I didn’t get it.

So, when I moved to Downtown Brooklyn in 2012, there was only a wine shop(thank God for that) and the nearest Starbucks was a 5-minute walk at Jay St. Metrotech. Fast forward to 2015, they open a Starbucks pretty much downstairs from where I live. I was so excited when they first opened. It was such a dream to have one so close to where I live. But, I dread going inside this store. The service is so slow and mediocre. The staff is clearly unmotivated and unhappy. I walked up to the register(I was the only person standing in line) and 2 baristas were just sitting around on storage crates chatting away. One of the employees was complaining to another co-worker about how it sucked working at Starbucks and that she was only making $ 8/hour. She continued on to say how she was contemplating getting a job as a waitress because at least she would be getting decent tips. Then the girl who was complaining sees me waiting and takes my order. Meanwhile, I’m feeling uncomfortable and disgusted at how unprofessional she was complaining a few seconds ago. While at the same time, I also feel guilty giving money to Starbucks, so that they can pay their baristas $ 8/hour while my coffee and breakfast sandwich costs $ 7.66.

I like this Starbucks location. its definitely my favorite in Brooklyn It’s never too packed and I always find a nice cozy place to seat and enjoy my afternoon latte when I’m in the area. Also it’s always clean and smells nice inside.

The coffee is fine but the service is lacking. We tried to go here and study multiple times. There are always open tables and plenty of room but they often play the music very loud in the evenings. The staff seems less than interested in working. Many times the staff would have friends at the bar and spend their time chatting or on their iPhones while customers waited in line. Use the online order option if you’re nearby to a sound having to deal with it…

Nice big Starbucks. Staff has always been solid and friendly. No complaints and nice bathrooms. It’s also not so crazy busy in the morning.

I still love this location! Short line, if at all. And they are really fast — at least for what I order. Usually only a couple of people behind the counter but they are very efficient when dealing with people and treat the customers very well. I sometimes go to 6 MetroTech but they have too many customers and often seem overwhelmed. Not that I am complaining because those workers are really helpful, too. Starbucks should open up another place right next door to 6 MetroTech!

Lots of space here at tables with lots of outlets nearby. Plenty of outdoor seating, too. It could just be the day I was there(Sunday) but it was very slow. They could use a second person prepping drinks. Despite being very busy, the ladies working were pleasant.

I’m almost afraid to give this Starbucks too good a review since I really enjoy it and it’s fairly uncrowded even at its worse. I really enjoy this Starbucks because of the giant windows it has that really opens up the space and gives the place a lot of light. It’s your average Starbucks with everything you expect from it otherwise. People complain in previous reviews that the staff aren’t friendly, but I don’t think any of them are any worse than any other New Yorker out there. If one manages to say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ they always reply back. Maybe they aren’t interested in having an in-depth conversation with some, but I’m not either. Sometimes the staff will have conversations with each other but they notice me eventually, so overall they are very polite. On the other hand, if you are in a big rush I wouldn’t come to this Starbucks. They do seem to be much more lax and it doesn’t seem like a place to go for some big fancy drink on a time limit. Also the bathrooms are very open to the public which can be uncomfortable to watch people just walk in, use them, and leave. Sometimes the area can be a little dirty(crumbs, stains on the table, overfull trash bins etc) but usually it is fairly clean.

THEYHAVE A CLOVERMACHINEHERE! Why didn’t this Starbucks exist while I was still living in this neighborhood? Pros: Clover Machine Closer to work No line because it’s tucked away enough so that not everyone knows it exists(as of now) Aaron is my fave :) Cons: As previously mentioned, there are people who will walk around asking you for money in order for them to complete their own coffee order.

I am very excited about this location, it works very well for me. I like the look of it, situated on the bottom floor of the condominium. Inside the place is inviting and very comfortable with the seating(outdoor as well). One downside is the staff, although they are polite, they seem like they are trying to be polite as opposed to actually being polite but I can deal with it. What I can’t deal with is the frequent use of the restroom by non-customers(and that is being polite of me to say). If this type of behavior, such as the panhandling continues… it will make this place uninviting and eventual trips to other places. Tighten things up early before its too late in order to see a better review.

Clearly things change fast here as this building Starbucks is in didn’t even exist a year ago. That being said I’ve been a few times because of laziness and close proximity. It took me 20 min to get an iced coffee. The staff isn’t particularly friendly, at all. The only good thing is the location and building. It nice and airy with tables outside.

As this neighborhood evolves, and as more businesses make the community home, I implore the crew at this new Starbucks to treat the customers with courtesy and respect. For example, when a customer walks up to the counter, please stop the conversation that you’re engaged in with your co– workers, and see what the customer would like to order. A greeting as simple as, «Hi. Welcome to Starbucks. May I take your order?» would suffice, but honestly, I’m ok with a simple, «Hi». When I walked in today, I was greeted with a blank stare, and an obvious look of frustration from the baristas. The conversation that they were engaged in was way too interesting for them to stop and take my order. In fact, I had to ask if they were currently taking orders since no one asked what I wanted. The response to my question was, «we’re all listening so tell us what you want.» Classic. I have faith in this company’s ability to get it together, but for now, I will wait for management to make the personnel changes necessary before I contemplate spending more money there. Luckily, the neighborhood has plenty of options.
