Came in around 9 or so, and was seen right away, I love the comfortable atmosphere, I was greeted by 2 young ladies who made me feel automatically at ease. They both assured me that the style I desired could be executed to perfection by a lady named Carolina! She’s Hispanic, speaks very little English(so speak slowly), and braids really well and tight. She is a perfectionist. I originally came for the owner Stasha, but she was coming back from vacation, although she came back to the shop, she had an appointment, and I had already started my hair. Everyone’s super friendly, and there’s not a typical«intimidation factor» that hair salons tend to have. Will definitely be returning, and it’s really clean and well-kept. It’s also conveniently located as its approx. 0.2 miles away from the J train @ Crescent St.

Ladies & gentlemen, I think I’ve found my new braid spot. I’m transitioning so I’m always braided up. After going to countless braiders over the last 2 years, I’ve finally found one that I like & doesn’t charge you your first born child. $ 85 for some straight back cornrows, no design, I’ll pass! I’ve gotten my hair done here twice & I’m already looking for another style for the next time! One of my coworkers showed me Stasha’s instagram page & there wasn’t a style that I didn’t like! When you walk in the door someone greets you & asks you what do you need. All of the ladies are very nice & professional. There is a sink if you need your hair washed, I believe it’s an extra $ 10-$ 20 for a wash. The first time I came here, I got rope twists. They were done by Lisa(I think that was her name). Very neat & she took her time. Unfortunately, they didn’t last very long for me. Wasn’t her fault though. The hair at my nape is softer, so the twists just slipped out after a week. Didn’t have time to go back to have them reinstalled, so I just didn’t wear my hair up, lol. Normally I would keep a style like this for 2 months, but I was only able to keep these in for a month because my hair grew out like crazy! This time, I got my hair braided into a bun. Tiffany did my hair this time. Once again, very neat & she took her time as well. Hoping this style lasts about a month so I can come back for a birthday hairstyle. Keep in mind: As with any hair salon, they’re really busy on the weekend, so if you don’t want to wait go during the week. Even though you make the appointment with Stasha, she may not be the one doing your hair. She will make sure the person doing your hair is doing it correctly though. Reasonably priced, all of the braiders are very talented, & you don’t leave in pain! I’ll take the 30 minute drive for that. (I’ll take more pictures of the establishment next time)

I was looking for a Brooklyn based salon to do my box braids. I found Stasha’s page via hashtaging«brooklynbraids» on Instagram. I reached out to her and made an appointment. I arrived to the salon 15 minutes before my scheduled time and was in the chair exactly at 9am. I made the appointment with Stasha so I was under the impression that she would be the one doing my hair. That wasn’t the case. A young lady walked up to me, introduced herself and explained that she would be doing my hair. I was a little nervous because I didn’t know her capabilities but decided not to freak out and went with the flow. Ha! Another young lady joined her and they executed my smedium(kinda small kinda medium) sized braids in 6 hours. There are 6 stations, 1 sink to wash hair and 1 small restroom. The space is clean. All of the braidticians there are amazing and do wonderful work. And everyone helps each other. Wash your hair before you go or you’ll have to pay an extra $ 10 for them to wash it. I rarely braid my hair but I will be back here if I decide to do this again and will definitely refer my friends and fam to this place.

I go to stasha to get my locs retwisted. She is very good at what she does. Shes is very nice, respectable, and caters to you and your needs. She is one of the very few people who i let touch my hair. Her wait times are no longer that 10−15mins from what i experienced. She charges like 65 – 70 i think for locs which is more than fair considering how good she is. I totally recommend her for any hair needs.

‘Stasha’ did an excellent job on my moms hair for Mother’s Day … The pricing was very reasonable and it seems that she has a very extensive clientele as well … Very pleased …
